Organic Café! Yeah! Nice menu selection! Fair prices! Gluten-Free and vegan options! Organic Coffee!!! We had a Mexi-Wrap that put Chipotle and most other burrito places to shame. The Gluten-Free Griddle Cakes were large and served with fried potatoes and 2 farm fresh eggs. Some delicious espresso too. Aside from the food the guy working behind the counter was super chill and friendly. We will definitely be back anytime we drive thru Paonia!

Great big breakfast items. Large enough to share if you don’t like to eat a heavy meal first thing in the morning. Good selection of vegetarian and/or gluten free dishes. Chai is a bit too spicy for my taste, but may be great for others. Everything is made to order, so be prepared to wait for a little while. My kids love the pancakes. Overall a nice place to get a healthy, hot breakfast in a reasonable period of time.

Tried the wrap with homemade beans and it was great! I’d come back to try other items.

Nelle’s is awesome, and don’t believe the naysayers– awesome Mex/Southwestern-inspired sandwiches, burritos, and breakfast. Stumbled in looking for a snack and got a side of pinto beans, which came with homemade jalapeño relish… WTF, wow, yes – simply beans, I know, but perfectly cooked and flavored and right on the money. Also the veggie ya ya sandwich made my day(egg, vegetables, and vegan sausage).

I don’t know why the reviews are so spotty about this place. I have been here about 3 times now and I think it’s great. I definitely recommend this spot as a breakfast/brunch type of place. Just as a warning, their shop is tinnnyyyy. I think there are about 8 seats inside and a table outside. But hey, this is Paonia so it’s not a big deal. The food is great. The last time I went here I got the Ya-Ya sandwich with avocado. It had a soy sausage patty, plus a perfectly cooked over easy egg, onions, avo. The bread was toasted perfectly and the egg got all runny over everything. I couldn’t have asked for more. Loved it. The vibe is super chill. They guy taking orders is also the guy that’s cooking. Once he makes the food, he delivers it to the same counter that you ordered, and you pick it up. He didn’t ask for money or anything, but I paid then and there. I assume you can also get your food, eat, and pay after. Seems like it doesn’t really matter. They seem to trust the patrons which is nice.

I am new to the area, and I want to love you, but. Your rude to folks that you do not recognize or know. You are not very helpful if you do not ‘know the system’. So I will continue to have coffee at home and when I venture out I will go to that sweet drive up cart outside of town where they are always nice and inviting. Coming from another pretentious Colorado community, the one who ‘wrote the book’ I will not put up with it from my new farm. BTW I am a true Colorado native, would you have treated me better if you knew???

We stopped in for coffee, very cute place, menu looked great, but at 3 in the afternoon the coffee was not very good and they did not have Splenda or sweet and low, or any alternatives to sugar. The blended lemonade was pretty average. Need to stop back to try the food…

This is the best coffee and breakfast in Paonia. Lest you think«whatever, it’s just a tiny town».Paonia is the epicenter of a vast farming and orchard area and some of the best and freshed farm-to-table entities are in or near town. This is a foodies’ paradise; don’t be fooled because the locals don’t look like Denver hipsters. Nellie’s has wonderful food. You’ll have a to wait a bit, as they are often crowded; but if you are in a hurry, wait until you get to Delta and go to McDonalds.

Nelle’s is not your usual coffee shop /café, but for those that understand that a coffee shop is more than a place to get coffee, this is the place for you. Sit back and relax and take a few minutes to speak to the people around you. This is small town living at it’s best. Anyone and everyone will take a minute to speak to you and give you some insight into Paonia living. There is no drip coffee, but the Americano was one of the best that I have ever had. The breakfasts are wonderful. There are big breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and much, much more. If it is sunny or warm, you can sit outside, otherwise grab one of the tables inside and get cozy with your neighbors. All in all, it is a really fun place to start your day.

We kind of felt like we walked into a foreign country. It was almost as if the two guys behind the counter were speaking a different language and to a different audience. I mean, we were astonished, it was one of those moments where we looked around and wondered if they were actually talking to US??? Weird place. really weird. But totally enchanting. To start, we went in looking for some lunch. All the signs of a great eclectic delicious lunch stop were all there. Storefront with character, great sign, chalk-drawn menu… it was all looking up. Maybe they make a good cup of coffee? Just don’t count on them for lunch, because you might see them rooting around for some straggler veggies or bread or a left over can of tuna. 3 stars, because it was actually an other worldly hilarious experience! Go for coffee and enjoy the psychedelic ride!
