Had a great time here. Great patio seating out under the stars, ample heating. Inside was beautiful as well. Very southwestern, cozy and dark. We had some beers at the bar along with their«Tree-O» consisting of duck confit empanadas, crab cakes, and puercos en un pancho(pigs in a blanket) all of which were delicious. My only qualm was that the bartender could’ve been a little warmer, a little friendlier. Other than that, great time

Half a mile from home. However, would drive from Desert Ridge, Cave Creek, Rio Verde, etc. So beautiful, peaceful, yet fun mix of people. Locals, snowbirds, and hotel guests for great food, ambiance. Wonderful and plentiful heater’s for chilly nights. Great service, great food and great happy hour.

I almost hate to review this place as I want to keep it a secret. But I also love supporting local places sooooo… all I can say is WOW! What a find. I had seen some pics online so we decided to check the happy hour out before dinner reservations at another place in Scottsdale. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful team of hosts and shown the way to the bar area. Even though it was chilly outside we opted for sitting out on the surreal patio, surrounded by cacti and underneath big, beautiful trees. The setting is SO romantic and relaxing. They had plenty of heaters and little fireplaces going. We arrived at about 5:15 and it was extremely quiet. Sitting drinking a glass of wine with my husband and taking in the scenery was honestly one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever done. At 6pm a musician showed up with a guitar and set up stage right in front of us where we got to enjoy his music for 30 mins before we had to go to our other reservations. I am so glad we found this heavenly little spot! I’d love to come back and eat at Lon’s as the atmosphere is out of this world.

Simply surreal. The natural beauty of the mountainous, desert landscape juxtaposed with flawless old western décor meshed to create a setting that looked straight from television or the silver screen. The multiple fire pits, as well as the stage with the very entertaining musical cowboy was too legit. It was too pristine and well-executed to actually be just an ordinary day at Last Drop. I admired this very much to and from the bar indoors. Inside, the theme carries on quite superbly, even with the narrow little bar in the corner. This is where the magic happens. I opened my evening with the house Cabernet as I perused the app menu. It was worth every penny for the $ 6 glass, and I would have easily paid more in a place like this. Me and my dining buddy went for the groovy«trio» special, in which we enjoy three miniature sets of appetizers to get a feel for what this place is all about. We enjoyed: Cheese croquettes: Nice and dry when I expected them to be greasy. Flavorful. The sauce they were immersed in was delicious, and if you gave me a large plate of these and a bottle of wine, I would be a happy camper. Stuffed peppers: I found the goat cheese rather mild, and the prosciutto surprisingly too faint to contrast well with the sweetness of the pepper, but it was still refreshing. Almost palate cleansing. Duck confit empanadas: I usually don’t enjoy duck, and because I find them adorable, I’m partial to poultry alternatives. All of that has changed thanks to these morsels, which I will undoubtedly order on my next visit. Despite being obviously prepared in advance(they come out FAST!), I had zero doubts of the quality of ingredients. I am fully confident in their kitchen, and can’t wait to try some entrees. I concluded my short visit with a concoction of mango syrup, mescal, and Fresno peppers. It was sweet, spicy, and smoky. I loved it. «Don’t get attached» they warned, as the drink selection is liable to change quite often. While I may not be able to order that again, I will certainly return for many more suppers.

I don’t typically give 5 stars on a first visit, but this place was very impressive(and I’ve had their food at many a food event, so fairly sure it is legit delish). The husband and I went here before getting dinner on our one year anniversary(we were in the area early and decided to drop by). We only had drinks, but the food specials looked great… burgers on special on Fridays, tacos on Thurs… lots of good sounding specials. Anyway, The bartender was nice and helpful. I ended up getting the peach smash, which had bourbon, peach, house made blackberry syrup(made fresh daily), and ginger… this drink was legit… one of the tastiest drinks I’ve had in awhile. The husband tried a new local beer he hadn’t had before, and it was quite good as well. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful ambience and a relaxing environment on the patio under little strung lights by a bubbling fountain Our server, Apri, was engaging, professional, and proactive. Her personality made us feel welcome and her demeanor demonstrates a great deal of pride in her work. My date commented several times on the quality service. Ivan, the cocktailer was extremely helpful and accommodating. Rachel the mixologist made my date’s shaken vodka lemon as well as she has had it done. Many reasons to keep returning as live music on the patio begins this week, we’ll be back soon. Oh…the food was great too!

I’m not a big drinker. When I go to a bar it’s usually to unwind at the end of the day and sit with some friends. A lot of bars(you know who you are) just aren’t meant for either unwinding or talking; they’re too noisy and uncomfortable. Last Drop fits the bill for me perfectly. Like everything at Hermosa Inn, it’s well appointed and the service is spot-on. I should warn you that it’s also a bit pricey but it’s one of those«you get what you pay for» sort of things. If you’re hungry they offer food with a special each evening. They also have a selection of what I call«fancy drinks», wine, beer, etc. And, of course, the bartenders will make whatever you ask them to mix up for you. Seating is plentiful and, if the weather is nice, you can take your drink out to the patio and relax with your friends.

A small group of us have tried their 1st Tuesday of the month complimentary wine tastings.(from 5pm to 7pm) Check to see if they are doing this. We tried them in August and October of this year. The wines that were offered were Dr Loosen from Germany? and Craggy Range from New Zealand. They offer a discount if you buy a bottle. The Tuesday night Happy Hour special is a changing flavor of slider,($ 2)they are very good had 1 each time. I also like their truffle fries. They have a beer special also on Tuesdays for $ 3. I had a white chocolate one that was delicious. I have also shared a pizza-big enough to do if you have a slider first and fries(shared). Happy Hour is every day from 4pm to 7pm, but I only see specials M-F. They probably have specials on the weekend? We ate inside both times but the patio looks great. Service is very good, not too rushed, but attentive so we could visit.

Would have given this place 5 stars(since I adore the Hermosa Inn), but the bartender was not the most welcoming. I guess they were trying to keep the bar open at the same time as offering a class… probably not a good idea. We ended up taking our wine and sitting in the cool lobby and enjoyed the scenery… I just love this place!

We did the gin mixology class and I have to say that Travis(our bartender/cocktail historian/overall creator of awesomeness in a glass) is a rock star. The handouts were great. They provided a great history of gin along with information about a number of the shots we tasted. They were also chock full of recipes. The drinks he made for the class were fabulous. We lingered a bit post-class for munchies and more cocktails. He makes a very mean lemon drop. He is extremely knowledgeable and obviously has a love of his craft. It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon and we look forward to returning.

Food is terrific and atmosphere is nice. Kinda pricey though. 4 glasses of wine and 3 small appetizers plus tip… close to $ 100.00. When it gets warmer the outside section will be wonderful,

As I sit here in front of the fireplace, my last night of a heavenly vacation at The Hermosa Inn, I feel a little weepy that I can’t pack The Last Drop in my suitcase and take it home with me. We have been here many times, both during past visits to Phoenix and this week, and every time has been memorable in some wonderful way. First, I will start with the service. As with everything at Lon’s and The Hermosa Inn, customer service is impeccable. This week, Rachel and Jeremy tended bar and served us; they were super helpful in helping me decide what to eat and drink, and they were very appreciative of our business. Moving on to the menu.. .we were jumping for joy when we learned they now have taps! These four taps contain local brews to satisfy nearly any taste. I had the Sleepy Dog Wet Snout milk stout, and it was delicious. They also have an amber, a pale, and an IPA. If you prefer wine or other, they have a full bar. You can order off the restaurant menu from Lon’s, or you can order off the bar menu. All delicious options, but here is what I had this week: the ground sirloin burger medium rare(hand ground), the chopped salad(best salad I have ever had, ever, EVER), and the club. I usually would not order something like a club that I could get elsewhere, but this club had berkshire ham, chicken breast, havarti cheese, and house cured bacon. When I bit into the bacon, I had a flashback to 37 years ago at my grandparents’ farm in the Ozarks. They used to butcher their own hogs and cure their own bacon, and the taste and texture was so unique. I hadn’t tasted it again until this week, and it was a warm, fuzzy moment. Well, you won’t order a disappointing food item here. They use local farmers or grow their own, so the menu depends on the season. And finally, the atmosphere. Oh my. I love it love it love it! It’s warm, comforting, romantic, soothing, and just a great place to be with friends or someone special. The bar has a small fireplace, and then a living room-type space is connected for larger groups. On Sunday afternoon, a jazz duet played softly. I just can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be when visiting this area. I hope your experience is as great as mine! I have so many fond memories.

Let me be the first to get the word out on Unilocal!about this great bar attached to Lon’s at the Hermosa. It’s just undergone a renovation that freshened up the area behind the bar(and added taps so now there’s draft beer), but kept the spirit of the customer area. It’s located in what used to be the living room of artist Lon Megargee who lived on this spot. There’s a lounge area with a few tables, then further back a bar with six or eight stools. It definitely has a unique vibe; it’s like an old-Arizona hidey-hole. I was there for happy hour on a Wednesday night and it was dead at opening but packed by 6pm or so. Happy hour means reduced-price cocktails, $ 3 beers and several $ 5 glasses of wine. They have a small wine selection, but plenty of varietals and some really interesting makers. For happy hour, they provided a complimentary cheese selection with a variety of crackers.(I think this is only a weekly event, but I’m not sure.) Hotel guests and people who live in the local residential neighborhood mix easily here, and I met several great people who live nearby. Special note has to go to the servers, who were just incredible. The night I was here, we were helped by two sisters who can serve drinks, carry on multiple conversations, take orders, and talk intelligently about basically anything – all at the same time. They were some of the best bar waitresses I’ve ever met and – I’m not ashamed to say it – I’ve been to a LOT of bars. If you’re a tourist, it’s certainly worth a trip. If you’re a local, it’s worth frequenting(I would).
