Giving 5 stars based on the barber’s skills. If cigarette smoke bothers you then go somewhere else. We are nonsmokers but the haircuts hubby gets are so awesome we just deal with it. I gave my hubby his haircuts for many, many years so I am super picky about his haircuts, almost always finding fault. However this shop really knows how to give a great haircut! No stray hairs that are 2″ longer than the rest, no bald spots above the ears where someone«slipped» then practically shaved him to make it match, and no horribly uneven spots that were rushed through. We’d put up with a lot for such a great barber but luckily the smoking thing is the only negative. They are friendly and professional. Always giving great service. :)

Not sure how telling my personal story is «cyber bullying» or how I had«unrealistic expectations,» nor am I from Riverside and have never been there. I simply asked for an extremely simple and specific haircut for my son and not only did the barber not accomodate my request, he refused to provide the service I was paying for. I was not aware that the barber we encountered was not the owner of the shop, and I do apologize to the owner for the review, but I only told exactly what had happened on my visit to his shop. Telling the first hand account of my experience is in no way bullying. I am willing to meet him and work things out if he is willing, but the matter of my first visit remains the same. Bottom line is I was willing to pay for a service, did not receive the service, and was berated in front of my family as we left the establishment. I’m not quite sure I follow the logic of the two individuals attacking my review…

Are you kidding me, Mr. Riverside??? OMG… I am a FEMALE, and can’t believe how obnoxious your critique is of a BARBERSHOP??? My BF has been going here and has never had a bad haircut. The thing we love about Paradise is the lack of «entitlement» which apparently Mr. Riverside brought to our beautiful town. I could read your obnoxiousness through your horribly evil review(Mr. Christian??)… Find a beauty salon for your little Lord Fauntleroy boys Mr. 1 star. This place has character, charm, and creativity. If you want a good old barber shop, one with character and charm… go here. If you are self-entitled and mean-spirited, go to an expensive beauty salon. My BF has had some bad cuts before… but not from here!

STOP! Attn. all« Unilocaler’s”— CYBER-BULLYing at its worst. The post below demonstrates the way we can get caught up in a clear case of «unrealistic expectations». Think about it… A dad &3 young boy’s show up for 4 cuts in a row on a Sat. to a 1-man barbershop. If Delbert was on duty, he would’ve been able to suggest an alternative – such as a store that is more suitable to his situation(more cutters on duty & designated kid friendly waiting area). He would have also been able to decide on giving priority to his regular customers that trickle in throughout the 2 or 3 hr’s it would have taken. The thought of my new friend FRANK(yes, that is his name – «Frank the Barber») getting bulldozed & brow-beat’n by this ‘couch line-backer’ & his brood breaks my heart. Those kids could have experienced a piece of Americana that is slowly vanishing(Maybe 1 at-a-time or a ‘heads-up’ call next time). Yesterday was my 4th cut & is just as great as the other previous 3 cut’s.(1 time w/Delbert &3rd w/Frank). Each visit I experience the fun of checking out the ‘barbershop’ memorabilia. I never noticed the bowling awards, but if I was an enthusiast I’d probably enjoy knowing that there would be a chance to share stories while getting a cut(Absolutely NOT a display of self-promotion). I never had a reason to even think anyone else smoked besides the customer’s that sometime smoke outside while waiting or visiting. ITS A BARBERSHOP! Low-Key & accommodating. A «free-zone» spot for men to relax, share stories, thumb through sports & outdoorsmen mag’s(contrary to stereotypical beliefs). These are great guy’s — Frank chose Paradise to get away from the hustle-bustle & to finish out his retirement(semi-retirement). He met Delbert & they came up with a plan to help Delbert reduce his hours at the shop while keeping the doors open for his loyal customers & newcomers to the town. Delbert is a proud & well respected member of the business community along with other local involvement. I’m devastated to see him PUBLICLYFLOGG’D – HEWASN’T EVENTHERE!!! so, now about Frank… He’s a «cool cat». A life-time barber/artist. When I give him a chance to talk I get a glimpse of the the jet-setting music LA/Hollywood scene in the day of crazy extreme haircuts. Every time I see Frank, he has a whole different look. YES, he usually has an ‘edge’ going on, but never ‘in your face’. Oh, I dig his glasses— That’s FRANK and WELOVEHIM! never has he ever discounted anything that I’ve asked him to do with my hair & absolutely would never let me leave the chair unless I was completely satisfied. I hope ‘what’s his name’ reads this & realizes the harm & hurt he can inflict by leaving such a scathing, stabbing review. Please let the Town be!(We’re not in Kansas anymore). Let’s all try to be more tolerant of other’s & show the locals & our elders some RESPECT! ‘Doubt they ever knew what hit ‘em.
