Izzy’s Burger Spa

I cannot honestly take some of these reviewers seriously. This is possibly the worst burger I’ve had in the contiguous 48 states. Literally horrible.
5 things I want in a burger:
1. Quality Meat — I’m pretty certain Izzy’s would rival taco bell for that ⁶⁰⁄₄₀ combo of bad beef and fatty beef. Terrible.
2. Size — The patty as small and dry as it became was slow to eventually and unfortunately be the star of this burger. Sad, i know.
3. Flavor — None existed
4. Bun & Toppings — Total fail. The buns used are the $ 1.99 version from the supermarket. Good lord man at least buy an artisan product??? The toppings were even worse. Soggy, wilted lettuce, a tomato so sad it shouldn’t have ever been served and onions so over grilled they were more mushy than the really dingy bun.
5. The experience — 40 minutes later I was served one of the top 5 worst burgers I’ve ever ordered.
Do no go. Stay far away. You’d be happier with a dollar menu item at McDonalds. Seriously. Anyone who likes this place has a palate of a two year old. If I could give a place negative stars there wouldn’t be enough for this train wreck.

Yummmmm. Thank you Unilocal!I wanted a burger and this place got stellar reviews so I drove from Chico to try it, definitely worth it. The burgers we got were so good, everything tasted really fresh and quality. The onion rings were some of the best I’ve ever had… you can tell they change their frying oil because you can taste the onion and batter but not the grease. Finger licking good food, perfect portions, and really fair prices. Too bad I don’t live in paradise because I would definitely be ordering their delivery! This place is a keeper for sure.

Terrible waste of money. Thought delivery would be cool. Food was an hour later then it was supposed to be. Called in to check on the order, and the gal who awnsered the phone was quite rude. Food finally arrived, and was so cold it was inedible. Not an ounce of warmth anywhere. Very dissatisfied

Heck yes for the delivery! Comes piping hot every time and the delivery guy is always so nice.
I usually get the veggie melt but it ALWAYS lacks salt and flavor — I usually have to season it up with some salt pepper, chili powder, dash of cumin.
Great ranch /​bleu cheese though! :)

When it’s busy, service is slow. But the burgers are always good and the beer battered onion rings are bomb-​diggity.

I have completely changed my mind about Izzy’s. I went back on a whim and I am so glad I did. The food is amazingly delicious and while it can take a while after you order to actually get it (I recommend calling it in) it is well worth the wait. Since then I have been back multiple times and it is clear that the first time really was a fluke.

We have eaten here twice. You order at counter and then they bring food to you at picnic tables in adjacent room. It is fun to look at the old movie star photos all over wall while you wait and watch the old Bonanza show on tv.. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich that was very good with coleslaw. The fries are very good. So far we have tried the burgers, bacon burger and hotdog. all have been good. It is not fast food, since they cook to order.

Lots of people recommended this place in Paradise as the «best burger you will every have». With that kind of lead up, I was expecting something good. I was rather disappointed. I ordered a western burger, which came with the most praise. The burger was bland and a little dry. Nothing special, and at the 8 dollar price, certainly not worth it. I’d recommend going to the Fosters Freeze down the road.

Awesome burgers and a great change from fast food and diners. Portions are large and very reasonably priced. Definitely the best in Paradise. Only con is there’s always quite a long wait but if you order ahead or have it delivered you can avoid that.

Haven’t been here since highschool but it was exactly how I remember! Great burger with a lot of flavor. Fries weren’t anything special but the burger more than made up for it.

Ordered 2 pastrami and could not eat them. The meat was very dry and the bun was dry also. Hot pastrami is suppose to be moist these weren’t. I wasted the $ 25.00 dollars they charged

I am happy to announce the last time I ate at Izzy’s the Female Owner was Friendly, and talked nicely to her Employees. I ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and Onion Rings (both Beer Battered & Original.) the food was great as always. They’ve opened another location in Magalia and I hope they continue to do well!

We always come here after our doctor’s appointments in Paradise. Their burgers are so good! I love the mushroom burger and garlic cheeseburger. Their pastrami is yummy too! The wait is kinda long but it’s so worth it. This is one of the few places where my little one actually finishes her food. We also enjoy looking at the old school pictures that they have displayed on the walls. The only thing I don’t like is how it smells like straight oil in there, makes my hair stank! lol

I stopped in for lunch while working in Paradise today and was pleased overall. However, I do have some pro’s and con’s.
I ordered what was listed on the menu as a Tri-​Tip meal. This came with 2 sides. I chose the potato salad and the baked beans. For my drink I ordered a pineapple shake.
Pro’s: The baked beans were some of the best I’ve ever had! The pineapple shake was about as good as you could ask for. So much flavor in both of these, I would come back just for them!
Con’s: The potato salad was very bland. I liked the consistency of the chew and the ingredients they put in it, but they may need to add salt to zip up some more flavor! As for the Tri-​Tip, It was shaved very thin and needed seasoning. Also, it was a SANDWICH! hoagie type roll with bbq sauce, tomato and lettuce. I would have the menu say Tri-​Tip sandwich meal rather than Tri-​Tip Meal.
Since I work in Paradise 6 days a month, I will surely give this spot another go!

The food is always good and very consistent. Never a let down and a very kid friendly atmosphere. You can watch them make your food if you want. Wish they would do the car show on Thursday again.

First time here! Loved it, cute and quaint on the inside with vintage pictures everywhere. Seems to be a local favorite. Great fries, great burgers, lots of options and clean! They have a very friendly staff, loved listening to the friendly banter back and forth! We are definitely coming back!

Tasty food! We appreciate the retro atmosphere. They are opening in Magalia. That’ll be great for the area especially if they deliver. We usually enjoy the beer battered onion rings. The meats are all quality.

They had just gotten a new system and it seemed like they didn’t know how to operate it. The guy at the front was very apologetic and very friendly.
The only complaints were when he asked an older lady in the back for help with the system, she threw down what she was preparing and let out a very loud sigh. I felt bad for the kid.
The other issue is that for a «quick burger spot» it took us 35 minutes to get out food, and that was after asking them what the hold up was.
Also, the older gentleman who worked there had a great personality. He was the most redeeming part of the experience.

Holy taste bud heaven, batman! Stopped in today and had a bacon cheeseburger. Simply amazing. By far the best burger I’ve had in all of California. Nothing in Chico even comes close. The staff is super friendly. I cannot wait to go back. I might actually have it delivered again later today.
