I love Knit Wits. I’m blessed enough to live close and it’s not only a yarn store but a family. The knitting classes have helped me make friends and have learned how to knit so much better. Their is such a wide variety of yarn. If you like a certain yarn Devvy will help you find something to make with it. She is so helpful. She has knitting clinics if you get stuck on a project and need help. If you have been thinking about taking up knitting this is the place to go! We are so blessed to have this darling yarn boutique in Paradise.

I spent an awful lot of time browsing. There were so many bins of discounted yarn spread throughout the shop and I LOVED the way Devvy Huggins had organized the yarn by kind and gauge. I’m a big fan of the Berroco Foliage pattern of a circular jacket called«Fleur» and I’m a big fan of the softness and drape of Foliage yarn, but I’ve never been completely in love with the colorway selection offered. For over a year now, I’ve been hunting for similar wool yarns that offer better colorways in subtle striping. Devvy had her yarns arranged so that I could readily see similar yarns to Foliage and also to the ever popular Noro Kureyon and Silk Garden. She also had a large mohair collection; I’ve a real weakness for brushed mohair, even though I don’t look all that great in it and it tends to shed on my exercise equipment when I’m teaching exercise to clients. She also carried Malabrigo heavy worsted wool in Colchina, lettuce, and one other colorway. It was so soft and lovely. Unfortunately, the lime green brightness of Lettuce made me look washed out and pasty. I had to set that aside. In the end, I settled for her last skein of Noro Kureyon in colorway 124(reds, purple and rust), her last Berroco HipHop skein in navy, lime, burgundy, and gold, and enough skeins of a beautiful, soft New Zealand merino/angora blend(Naturally’s Sensation) to make a classic pullover to last a long, long time. During the time I was in the store, Devvy was helpful and yet gave me space to browse. Local women dropped in and asked her for a broccoli salad recipe or updated her on church news. It was a restful, quiet place and she was gracious and serene. An altogether ideal yarn shopping experience for me.
