County of Los Angeles Public Library – Paramount Library

This library is close to the school I’m attending so I decided to stop by and check it out. Bad idea! There is hardly any parking available because the lot is so small. Still, I was able to park in the only spot available which was purely out of luck.
The exterior gives you the false promise that as soon as you enter you’ll be bombarded by so many good reads, well, that is not true. I walked into what seemed to be a day care. There was way more children there than adults. Who’s supervising all these kids?! Children under 8 years old running around and playing with toys. This must be a norm here because none of the employees were doing anything about it.
I like to take my time to pick out books in a quiet environment specially if it’s a library but there was no way I could’ve done that here. As a self proclaimed book worm I am always likely to get lost in the hallways of libraries for hours but this isn’t the place where anyone could do that.

This had to be one of the loudest libraries ever. Kids plays everywhere. The staff is friendly, but being here defeats the whole purpose of me leaving my house to come to a quiet place to study. I couldn’t do it so I left after only completing one page. My search for a quiet library continues.

While I love my little library (5 stars), I’m detracting a star for the abundance of transients they’ve taken on lately. If I were homeless, I would want to surround myself with an alternate reality (where books can take you) and the laughter of children (always little kids in this library) as well. However, it’s getting suspect.
Point being, this library has a few free computers, a children’s reading section, and lots of tables for group reading work. It has a pretty good selection of VHS/DVD’S, and new releases in which you need to donate a few dollars to become a Friend of the Library. Also, they have different programs of interest for the community.

Cool library been coming here for years have some really good memory’s here kinda old fashioned but cool people great customer service

My clients and myself came here to check some books out. As soon as we arrived the staff was very unprofessional and followed us everywhere. Yes I know working with individuals with developmental disabilities, people will give us stares, but from the staff at a public library?! One staff member told one of my clients that the book she was looking at wasn’t for her and took it from her hands and put it back on the shelf. Never again, burn in the depths of hell, assholes.

The library has potential with its toddler programs, computers and free wi-​fi, but it has too much of an old industrial feel to it and was closed on one of the days it was supposed to be open.

This library is very SMALL! Although the library customer service is great, there’s not a lot of space. I came here just to study & it seems more of a library for teens & c hildren… not so quiet.
I cant comment on the books/​materials because i didnt use any or search.
