So far so good with this store. I’m totally willing to pay more for quality clothing that fits appropriately. I bought dress pants here that faired well after some time and many washes. I recently returned and for jeans and paid a little more but I am expecting them to last more that 2 years. My American Eagle jeans fall apart after 2 years–

My family and I shop at this location often and we always left happy due to the friendly service from the floor staff but we have recently experienced the worst customer service from the cashier(elderly heavy set blonde woman) and the manager(younger female). I was having a difficult time gathering my receipts from a previous purchase and when the cashier took notice of this she rolled her eyes and tauntingly smiled at the customer behind us and both of them ridiculed us with their derisive exchange of expressions on three accounts. When I informed the«manager» of this occurence, she became irrationally defensive of the employee and belligerently gave a forced and insincere apology. Unprofessional.Aggressive.So ghetto. You would imagine that in this modern era, people would be educated and all forms of bullying and discrimination would be at a minimum, but the experience here has proved me wrong. Very disappointed from this disgraceful treatment at BR.

Banana Republic has nice stuff… and this is one of their bigger stores, so you will find lots of good items, lots of sale items, and things that they don’t carry in some of the smaller stores. The only down side is that it is in Garden State Plaza, and I usually have to go on Saturdays… UGH!

Decent, but no where as nice as the real stores. The selection of clothing is either from last year or lower end pieces that couldn’t cut it in the real store. There are typically some good deals to be found, but don’t go expecting the whole store to be great value. The lines are also typically fairly long and the staff is not very helpful.

Great store and great sales –got a fabulous sweater for just 7 $ and a belt for 4.98 and dont stop getting compliments. Checkout was a bit slow– was late home cuz it took so long for them to work out with all the discounts. but the price was worth the hassle.

I’m finding that though BR has changed their style, the quality has gone down. Things rip easily and the zippers never last a long while. The store, however, is B-E-A-UTIFUL. Love the new design. It feels like a huge walk in closet. Lines can be an issue and employees(if they are behind a counter) don’t seem to have as much energy as some of their walking counterparts. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Now this is more like it. In 1999, I was a sales associate at the Garden State BR. It used to be located where Abercrombie & Fitch is now. Back then, the prices weren’t outrageous. In fact, it was on par with the current prices at the Gap. There weren’t any signature lines either, just signature chinos. Fast forward to 2011 and BR is sleek with highlights of rustic-chic. The store is laid out perfectly. New items in the first section, Heritage items in the next, Monogram after that, basics follow, and lastly the clearance section. I usually bee-line to clearance. A great time to go is Monday after a big sale, but the best time is when they run their 40% off EVERYTHING promotion. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s freakin phenomenal. Don’t go there during Christmas season unless you like shopping at full price. Go after Christmas to reap the rewards. Trust me…
