We had a 7:30 reservation and was not seated until 8pm. Drinks took forever as did soup and salad. Our habachi chef did not come until. We had goyza for an appetizer which were very good. For dinner I had habachi seafood. The rice and noodles were great. The seafood which consisted of lobster, shrimp and scalops also tasted great. Our chef was very nice also. There wasnt much of a show however. I will just say the miss management of the place is the problem. We didnt finish until 10pm and I’m still waiting in desert for the kids and the check. 2 and a half hours and we arent done yet.

7:30 reservation and our chef didn’t show up until 9:15. Complained several times and the only answer given was«I’m sorry, we’re busy». They are at least 50% under staffed. The food is great here, it’s management that’s the issue.

A great place to celebrate birthdays with the kids. Lots of singing, gongs and fun. The food is fresh and grilled hibachi style to perfection. Loved our individual table chef who was a culinary artist when he prepared our dishes. We shared fried rice, vegetables, chicken, lobster, and steak. My son and his family loved sharing and caring at this family friendly restaurant. Reasonably priced and definitely a fun experience.

I have loved going to kiku since I was a child. Now as a pregnant woman and mother of a young child I rarely eat out and stay home and use organics most of the time. I was invited to kiku on Friday night after a night out of shopping. I ordered the shrimp hibachi not thinking that the shrimp would NOT be fully cleaned. As I am eating and feeding my 11 month old I take a bite and poop filled shrimp!!! I lost my appetite and could not finish my dish. When asking for a knife to check the rest of my shrimp i noticed that the shrimp is cleaned only halfway! The other half is not cut open(all pieces). I ask to speak to the manager only to be told that they fully clean the shrimp. Thank goodness my sister didn’t open her shrimp and the poop was clearly visible through the skin. I had to prove to the manager that there was poop throughout the shrimp!!! Then she gets the chef(the man who played with us at the table) he explains that it is not necessary to open the shrimp all the way and that most hibachi restaurants serve shrimp with poop! I was shocked and will NEVER order the shrimp hibachi again!!! Eat the shrimp at your own risk!!! By the way I eat out at many restaurants and shrimp are fully cleaned! I was very disappointed in learning they don’t fully clean the shrimp as well as they have true chefs prepping every meal before they go out and perform«their show».

Food is ok, but not for the price I spent. Way too expensive. Service is not good at all. Wait time to serve me took way too long. Won’t go back.

Ive been going to Kiku for over a decade(on occasion), and while it has consistently declined in quality, entertainment and service, last night was an all time low. We had a 7:30 reservation, but had to wait for over 30 mins, which is fine since it was a friday night, graduation season etc. When finally seated, out waitress didnt show up for ten minutes. When she finally did, Yoko, came by in a hurry, took half our order(I kid you not, two people hadnt finished ordering drinks), and ran off. It was a hassle to constantly flag her down(since this happened multiple times), and finally someone in our party just went over to the servers area to help themselves. She was less than interested or helpful. We had to wait a good 45 minutes til the hibachi chef showed up. Not his fault, they just werent staffed well. He seemded nice and made a feeble attempt to entertain. The food was mediocre and the price was steep. Needless to say, I wont be back.

Yeah, I agree with the rating of this place. I mean the food was alright. They made some pretty good drinks, but the performance was terrible. I was sitting at a table filled with annoying kids, and this kid had his heart set on the volcano. Let’s just say this«volcano» was terrible. I mean even I was disappointed. Our waitress was very nice and extremely attentive. She’s the only reason why I put 2 stars instead of 1. She was quick and always knew when I needed a new drink. Our chef seemed like he hated his job, and just had a poor attitude the whole time. He only made like 2 jokes the whole time. Look I know their job is to just cook, but it is also to entertain, and I was not entertained at all. TLDR: Drinks are good, food is okay, entertainment sucks, service from waitress is great!

the worst service. honestly, the hostess needs training, we had a reservation and they still made us wait 30 minutes even though there were plenty of empty tables because she couldn’t remember which ones were free and which ones weren’t, requiring her to walk to the back of the restaurant and check EACHTIME she needed to seat someone. extremely rude and disorganized hostess station and our«server» was out of this world nuts. she couldn’t understand a single order and then started babbling nonsense. i understand that hibachi places are more about the hibachi chef and entertainment, but basic service is not that much to ask for.

NOTE: I never had hibachi here. I always get the chirashi and it’s quite good. Not the freshest, but beats average restaurants. The service was very responsive to requests for more tea, change to brown rice, etc. It is however, noisy. The front is all hibachi, and they even use gongs for birthdays. I’d say stick with the chirashi and you’re good.

I was a bit nervous coming here after reading the reviews, but everything was great. We were seated right away, service was good and on top of things, and the food was delicious. My sushi appetizer was as fresh as could be and the hibachi came out sizzling and seasoned but not overly so. We left stuffed and happy. Keep in mind this was a Tuesday night, but as a hibachi lover I would definitely visit again!

Place sucks! I was there with a big party and these guys were totally unequipped to accommodate a big party. We were there like 3 hours and most time was just waiting to be seated and for our food. I will not got back again and won’t recommend to anyone.

Compared to other local hibachi places this one does not have an included appetizer bar. The food was decent and you will not leave hungry if you get a hibachi meal. This location seemed to be popular with families with young children. We didn’t have to wait long for our table. Reservations are always recommended. The chef was engaging and friendly. Kiku is wonderful for groups because the experience hinges on how your table as a whole interacts with each other and the chef.

Fine for when you are craving hibachi or need a dinner location that will also entertain your children without people in head-to-toe animal costumes. Usually busy, kind of dark. Fun with a group. Not really worth it if you can’t sit at the grill.

I’ve never been a big hibachi fan and after coming here I remember why. I’m not really sure what the appeal for at restaurants like this, you pay largely for the entertainment factor instead of the food, and in my eyes it just isn’t worth it. At almost 30 dollars a head, you will get a small serving of steak/chicken with some rice and vegetables. Honestly there isn’t a huge different between the food here and the food at Sarku Japan, it’s just chicken masked in teriyaki sauce. With that said, our performer was actually quite friendly, I can see why smaller children would enjoy visiting a hibachi restaurant but in my eyes you are better off going to a normal restaurant and then the movie theater. You would spend the same money but get a lot more entertainment that a chef flipping an egg shell into his hat.

This is your typical hibachi factory. A lot of tables in an open area with every second table celebrating a birthday. Service seems rushed(waiter service that is) and table was not clean when we got there — they did clean it before starting to cook. When we went it was pretty empty during the week but still they rushed everything. HOWEVER– I actually saw some new tricks from the hibatchi chef this time around and they didn’t put on a total fake Japanese show– which I liked. No signing just some tricks and good food. The food was also cooked to perfection. I had the steak medium rare and he nailed it(better than Mt. Fuji). The food was good for what it is. Only thing that I found strange is if you want fried rice it’s $ 3 extra otherwise you just get white. You can’t go wrong with this place for a hibachi night out.

There is an old Japanese expression: When you want Miso: go to a miso store. Going back for the 4th time. Always exactly what I want and expect.

I’ve only had the hibachi here, but had a good experience both times. Kiku is priced about on par with the other hibachi places in the area, and the cuisine is perhaps slightly above average for its genre. There are, however, a couple things that disturb me about Kiku — the crowds and the parking. If you’re with someone who is injured or disabled, or perhaps elderly, prepare to drop them off in front because there is almost no parking for which you don’t have a slight walk. Once you get to the hibachi tables(make a reservation if it’s a weekend), you’ll find two enormous rooms with tons of tables. Many other hibachi restaurants I have been to have perhaps three tables in each room — Kiku is is a bit overwhelming in this respect. I’ll go back, but probably only on a weeknight to cut down the chaos.

Let me start by saying it was a terrible idea for me to come to Kiku on Christmas Day. Surprised it was even opened, my husband and I came here for dinner since we didn’t want anymore leftovers. We didn’t want hibachi and even without reservations, we were seated right away. If you’ve never been to the restaurant before, there’s a section by the sushi bar that has table seating. Let’s start with the service… Service: or the complete lack of. My husband and I sat down and waited about 15 minutes with over 4 different waitresses walking passed us and making direct eye contact with me. None of them came over to see if we were being helped yet, even with our menus closed and at the end of the table. Finally, one frantic waitress named Shelley(I mention her name because I want to give her credit) noticed we weren’t even served water while she was waiting on two hibachi tables, came over to us and asked us politely if we’re been acknowledged and helped. After telling her no, she quickly took our orders and put them in immediately. I really do have to give her credit because in addition to the two hibachi tables and the family she waited on besides us, she waited on an individual sitting at the sushi bar and started helping another family of four that just sat down before she finally asked for help. I DID notice who seemed like the ‘manager’ walking around in her black suit barely acknowledging how busy their staff was, didn’t even try to help. She walked in and out of the kitchen slower than a snail pretending like she’s a hot shot. If she really was the manager for the night, she really needs to go. Food: something that I could’ve done at home. I ordered a salmon entrée that came with a bowl of rice, salad, and miso soup. The salmon was dry, Something that I could’ve done myself. My husband had the Kiku steak entrée which he said tasted like something from Outback Steakhouse. Much to our disappointment, we really wished we had those leftovers. This place seems to get pricier every single time I come. The service is mainly gear towards those dining at the hibachi table and lacks service with the patrons that aren’t there for hibachi. The food is something ANYONE can easily cook at home with the exception of sushi. I don’t recommend Kiku to anyone, even if you want to try hibachi. I’ve had hibachi numerous times and every single time, all I taste from the food is the wet rag they drag across the grill to ‘clean off’ any residue.

Good food but long waits. Making reservations are key but they won’t seat you until your entire party has arrived and they have enough people to fill up the hibachi table. They food quality is great but this can be an expensive night out. Fun for the whole family, especially when the chefs do their table tricks. Ask for extra garlic and you won’t regret it. Great place for a birthday celebration!

My friends and I went here on a Monday night and although it was kind of crowded, it was by no means completely packed. Even so, it took 20 minutes and my asking to get any water for the table, and another 20 minutes for our order to be taken. After an hour and a half and asking(another) 3 times, our chef finally arrives. I don’t know why we were so excited though because he literally just cooked in front of us. The only«hibachi show» we got was him(poorly) tossing chunks of zucchini behind our heads. No joking around and making conversation, no onion volcano, no «I heart u» rice, nothing. Pretty much the only reason to get hibachi was missing and replaced by horrible service and a cranky chef. Then I guess the chef was in such a rush to move onto another table that he didn’t cook the chicken completely. We were served RAWCHICKEN. Not just slightly undercooked, could probably still eat chicken. UTTERLYRAW. I don’t know why I expected anything other than rudeness when I addressed management about the service, experience, and food quality. What I got were excuses about short staff and blame for not telling the chef about the chicken(after I told her he left before we realized). No discount, no free dessert, no effort to make this right, just an incompetent woman spitting nonsense at me. In summary: DONOTEVERGOHERE This was honestly the worst restaurant experience of my life. If you care about your health, sanity, and evening you’ll go to Mount Fuji.
