Food court«Japanese» grilled food generally makes me happy when on a shopping trip. My shrimp and beef teriyaki over soba with veggies, however, had zero flavor. Seasoning people! It didn’t even taste of soy sauce. $ 10 for that plus water was a bit of a bummer. On the plus side, they were exceptionally nice and efficient in comparison to other similar spots.

I always like this store amongst all the options. They also have the longest lines of all the food stores in the food court. Good value and tasty chicken teriyaki.

I mean, don’t give me like a few scoops of plain white rice, a little bit of flavorless vegetables, and then a few chunks of bland, ridiculously greasy meat. Some of the other Sarkus out there are better, but this one sucks.

This place is actually located in the food court at Garden State Plaza. It’s not authentic Japanese of course. I don’t even know why I felt the need to point that out. The pretty much only sell teriyaki. You can get eggrolls and other knick-knacks but the main seller is the teriyaki(beef, chicken, shrimp, combo). However, if you work in the mall and only have 30 min for lunch, this isn’t the worst option out there. The downside to having a 30 min lunch is that you’ll probably have to work in the one of the stores that’s close to the food court. If that’s the case, then you’re store isn’t that great. I remember those days of working in the mall. My first job was at Pacific Sunwear, this was way way before it was called Pac Sun. Then I switched genres and started working at Against All Odds. This was before hip-hop died, so the clothes were actually pretty decent. The hottest pieces we sold were Avirex leathers. That’s when they were super legit. Its weird that I’m old enough to remember the Plaza when it didn’t look like it did now. I remember there were only two ways to get into the food court, the escalator and the elevator. Now there’s an entire wing that leads into it. There used to be a ton of plants there too and a huge wishing fountain. I think JCPenney and Macy’s are the only stores that have been there since the late 80s. Wow, that’s nostalgia for you. You’re store sucks…
