I hit up Macy’s to purchase a suit. They were having a sale, the selection seemed ample so we popped in on a Saturday morning. I was greeted by a very helpful salesperson and quickly found a winner. Their tailor was knowledgeable and fast in figuring alterations and happiness abounded… Then came the transaction and time began to get mired in Macy’s archaic payment systems. I was presented with a bill, handed the young lady my debit card and we were sucked into a Dostoyevsky novel… We were in the year 1864. My debit card was not being accepted by Macy’s system and the salesperson dialed my bank, huh? I get an automated menu… Bla, bla, bla, hangup. «Give me the total, ill hit an ATM», which is what i did. Talk about convenience ! Hey, Macy’s, get into the 21st century! Remember customer service? We’re getting fewer, better take care of the ones you have

Just had a terrible experience with customer service about 20 minutes ago. If you ever see a man named Carl working in footwear don’t even bother asking him for help because he will just give you attitude and shake his head at you for asking a simple question. He should look for a job that requires no human interaction because it is obviously not his strong suit.

Worst possible Macy’s to ever go to. Employees are lazy and overall poorly trained. Worst part is I left a comment with Macy’s customer service and I didn’t even get a response. Better to go to Nordstrom or Lord and Taylor’s. Macy’s has taken a huge step back and forgotten their customer service roots. This location is the perfect example of how not to run a business. Macy’s will never see another cent of business from me.

Not that they care, but this Macy’s sucks. Macy’s as a corporation makes money so I’m sure they couldn’t give a rat’s ass about my little negative review. I tried to purchase about 300.00 worth of clothes here this evening.6:30 pm, not busy but not one register was staffed. I couldn’t find anyone to take my money. I walked around the second floor for about 20 minutes trying to find an open register. Finally I got so annoyed, I just put down the pile of clothes I was trying to buy at one of the vacant registers. So when a staff member is pissed off about crap just dumped that they have to bother to rehang, it’s because I couldn’t actually purchase it.

This Macy’s has the worse store employees ever. They are rude obnoxious and lazy. Try ordering from the Macy’s website instead and save yourself the frustration and gas!

The help here is always great. Easy to park, manageable size but upstairs has confused me for 30 years! Good to have coupon app but the coupon restrictions are getting worse and worse. Why are you ticking off customers?

I’ve tried to like Macy’s. The prospect of that many(relatively affordable) designers all under one roof is so tempting. If you would even go so far as to say it’s «too good to be true» you would be… well, right. You would be right. Unfortunately this location is disorganized and dirty, and if that hasn’t sold you, there’s always the rude and incompetent staff to contend with! Show me where it says this brand is excluded on this coupon. You cannot. And do you know why? Because it doesn’t say that. Also, if I ask for a gift receipt, please just give me one. I don’t care if «she doesn’t need one» if and when she wants to return this gift. Sigh. Anyone fancy a field trip to Herald Square?

The men’s dept. is not as good as the one at Garden State Plaza. The big plus about this Macy’s is it not as chaotic as GS plaza’s. I find Paramus Park to be a less stressful shopping experience than dealing with the Plaza.

Not a very good Macy’s. I’ve been to better ones. Went for their typical One Day Sales. Very messy and disorganized… Clothes everywhere. Long lines. The shoe department sucks. The variety is very slim and there are mountains of shoes all over the floor. Since I was browsing the shoes, I wanted to purchase the one shirt I had w/me at the shoe dept since there was no line. I literally waited there for 15 – 20 mins. next one on line. while ONE lady was trying to use every AMEX gift card, gift gard, coupon, etc she could on her shoe purchase. this is typical. but what’s not is that all three people behind the counter were trying to help her… so I was just waiting. and waiting… and waiting… one of the girls was just fiddling w/a cash register… and paid no mind to me even though she kept looking at me. finally another person came over, only to ask the person fiddling w/the register if she wanted a coffee cause she was going to the food court and kept insisting shed get her a coffee on n on … im still waiting… finally she decides to acknowledge me and asked me if i had just one garment, cause if i didn’t i’d have to go back down to the women’s dept to pay for it… u tell me this now? thank goodness I had only one garment blah. when did shopping become hectic and such a chore. it used to be fun :(
