Microsoft Store

My surface pro 3 decided to die one morning. I was able to make an appointment for that day. The guys at the store were super friendly and helpful but my computer was unsavable. However they were able to help me out and I walked away with a refurbished surface at no cost. Highly recommend this store.

After a not so good experience at Best Buy, my fiancé and I visited the Microsoft store expecting the same results, we couldn’t have been more wrong.
I have to agree the design of the store is quite similar to Apple but with that being said Idgaf about all that nonsense. The staff was very welcoming and informative. Karon was outstanding. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We never felt like we were being pressured into buying anything and he informed us of a student discount and package sale that accompanied the product I was looking into. We saved over $ 200 on the same product and better protection plan than if we had purchased from best buy.
Overall, great experience, would recommend this store to a friend!

Hands down – Best in-​store customer service I have ever experienced.
Now before I delve into the review, I will note that I have owned a Macbook before (broke it), and I bought it from an apple store. I’ve also owned an Android (…I also broke it). Currently I have a windows phone, but only because it was the cheapest replacement. I also have a really old HP labtop that sucks. So, I went into the store as someone who has had experiences with Apple and Androids, and I liked both of them a lot. I am a college student and was looking for a tablet or a small computer, anything that I could take notes with without having to keep my device plugged into an outlet during class. I am not some sort of tech-​savvy person that is in need of the latest products. As long as it is in my budget and it functions well, I am satisfied.
Now, for the actual store.
Yes, as the previous reviewer who gave it a 1-​star mentions, the store’s design and set-​up resembles Apple stores. In fact, I would agree that it’s basically the same. However, one, that only applies to the laptop/​tablet section. Microsoft has other products, such as gaming systems, which had their own sections that were really cool. Two, the Microsoft store is much brighter and sets a better mood. Apple stores are a bit too murky feeling for me. I like Apple products, though!) But then again, who cares about design? You come for the product.
And yes, there are so many employees. Depending on your shopping style, you might get annoyed. However, as someone that was buying their first tablet, or wasn’t even sure what I was looking for, I found this was very very helpful. Furthermore, once you have someone with you, you’ll still with the same person unless said otherwise, which I didn’t mind. I kid you not, I actually ended up staying with the same person for 1 and a half hours. This kind of attention would never be available at Apple. And it was not as though the store was empty – it was full of customers. They are just that dedicated to making sure everyone can get help. Furthermore, the employee (Aaron! Great guy!!) was very patient and willing to show me almost every product that fit my needs description.
They were actually honest too. Whenever I asked about the bad reviews for products, Aaron was very honest about what reviews customers actually sent in. Furthermore, if I asked a question and he didn’t know, he asked someone else right away rather than BS’ing. I didn’t feel rushed at all and it didn’t feel as though the employees were really pushing for a sale. That is why in the end, after trying and discussing about 5 – 6 different products, I happily went home with an ASUS transformer T100 (Hey, I’m a college student… need to save where I can!)
Lastly…what blew me away was that they offered me something to drink. Not lying. I was offered water, juice, or soda. I’ve never heard of a store that does this. (I got water btw. Bottled. Iced. Cold.) It may seem like a small gesture, but it actually impressed me.
I’m definitely planning on going back to buy a case/​stylus pen. (didn’t have enough money with me at the time)

Love these guys and so happy to have a full store open in the tri state area with my only other close option being the kiosk in NYC.
By the way, to address the one star review made earlier this month, that’s EXACTLY why Microsoft is better than the Apple Store. The people working there actually want to help you and don’t look at you like you’re cancer on their spleen. If you’re annoyed that you’re getting actual customer service and friendly at that rate and yet bothered by this — then you should stay home and order online.
Also while speaking along these lines, the Microsoft store is much more lively and has an energetic feel to the atmosphere in comparison to it’s rival Apple, which is dimly lit in comparison and has a stench that smells like NYC trains, a trait that seems to be in all their stores I’ve been to. The cool thing I like is the gaming station near the big screen tv on the side of the shop in the mall.
The workers at the MS store are friendly, helpful and pretty knowledgeable about their product but also have knowledge about rival products if you have comparison questions. I feel like I shot every question and it’s mother at the sales associates and they answered without missing a beat. I’ve done this at Apple which is usually met by cluelessness and snobbery.
And before anyone says I’m a fangirl of MS/​Windows or an Apple basher, I own a macbook pro, a windows tablet and an android phone. Although for what its worth, if my field wasn’t so Mac-​oriented, I’d sell my macbook in a heartbeat.

Really Microsoft? A store modeled, and completely ripped off the look of the Apple Store (history tends to repeat itself). Many machines on display are similar in style to the iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, etc. The store clerks are wearing T-​shirts similar to apple employees. The walls, the floor, the desks and tables, and the ceiling all scream Apple Store! Imitation is the highest form of flattery, but isn’t enough, enough?
The store floor plan is extremely cramped! If you remember the original location of the apple store in GSP, it’s smaller then that! I felt like there were too many tables in the space to walk comfortably. Hate to be there when it gets busy. Sells similar 3^rd party products as the apple store such as Beats, and Bose products. All of the store’s themes point to a heavy push on to windows tablets, windows phones, and Xbox One.
The time I went in there, there were more employees in the store then customers, maybe 20:1. Every time I hopped from one table to the next, I was asked if I needed help. It’s annoying when you have hopped several times from table to table and telling each salesmen ‘I’m good, I know my way around a notebook just checking the store out.’ Rather strange if you ask me. Don’t get me wrong, I like that there’s a ton of staff. I just wish, I could discover it without the consistent barrage.
I would really like to see Microsoft do something original with this store. Time will tell if they can come up with some great new product or a new more effective way to service it’s customers. But this is Microsoft we’re talking about here, I’m not going to hold my breathe!

This store is absolutely going to rival Apple. The layout is clean and smooth and the products are awesome. I got a chance to preview the store thanks to Unilocal and I really enjoyed it. With one wall dedicated to playing xbox one, and an entire window so everyone can see what’s going on, this store is bound for success!
