Great lighting store! Purchased a beautiful chandelier couple of weeks ago and 20% off. Reasonable prices compared to Capital lighting, went there first and beyond expensive!!! Very friendly also!

The WORST customer service!
We’ve lived in the area for nearly 40 years and have purchased from this store plenty of times. When we called about replacement parts we had previously ordered they swore they couldn’t find us in the system and that they wouldn’t order replacement parts for us anyway since the fixture wasn’t purchased there. Mind you, the last time we ordered the fan blade and associated hardware, the hardware didn’t fit.
Both women on the phone were incredibly rude with my mother to the point that she swore she would never shop with them again. Subsequently she ordered the same parts from Destination Lighting on the west coast, had a lovely experience and paid $ 40 for 3 blades (it was $ 60 for 1 at Paramus).
I then called to inform a manager or owner of their behavior, since as a business owner myself, I would want the courtesy. Both employees had the same tone with me. Nasty, snide and nearly implied my mother was senile.
New or old customer, your equipment or not, treat people with respect or get a website so that your customers don’t have to interface with your unfriendly and unprofessional staff.
As they say in customer service, I tried to ‘talk’ and since it was so poorly received, now I ‘walk’ and tell everyone else about my experience.

What a horrible experience I had at this store! I’ve been renovating and bought all new fixtures from Paramus. I was told that if they didn’t work in the space I could return them. After purchasing six fixtures, some of them being store display fixtures, I went back to return one. I hoped to exchange it for something else. It was in its original wrapping and they refused to give me a refund because I didn’t have the box the wrapped fixture was brought back in. My contractor had accidentally trashed it. I did not buy the other fixture I needed and thought that my husband put the unreturnable fixture in the car. A few days later I was looking for the fixture in my apt amidst the chaos of moving and renovating. I realized that it wasn’t there. I returned to Paramus to see if maybe we had left the fixture, remembering the terrible experience we had the week before. Yes it was there! No they did not bother calling us to tell us that it had been left! Maybe they were planning to reuse it for their display and then resell it without it’s original box. I was flabbergasted!!! I didn’t make a scene, but you can be certain that I will never step foot into Paramus Lighting again and would never recommend the store to anyone else.

What a cool lighting store. They have everything from classic chandeliers to super modern blade less ceiling fans.
The staff is fairly helpful, the prices seem competitive on some items but overpriced on others.
It’s a great place to splurge on something super unique, like a $ 10k crystal chandelier bigger than the Times Square New Years Ball.

Very pleasant no pressure buying experience. Sales person was friendly and knowledgeable. The selection was very nice and I was able to find something I liked that I couldn’t find in Lowes and Home Depot.

I went to Paramus Lighting the other day for wall plate covers and found that their selection was next to nil and seemed very expensive for what I was offered, the sales person was one of the laziest people I have ever encountered in retail and totally unhelpfu, l I wound up buying the wrong sizes and she was there when I went to return them as sour and unfriendly as one could possibly imagine. This store seems like it is from another planet!
FYI I went to Lowes and found a wonderful selection at half of the price and twice the quality and enthusiastic and helpful sales people, that is where i will now shop.

Paramus Lighting Company is the place to go to for reasonably priced lamps and light fixtures. The workers there were very knowledgeable and imaginative to what I would desire and ended up helping me to pick out an awesome lamp that is now gracing my living room. I will definitely go again!
