Did a good job with alignment of tires but car was to be ready by 5 pm and wasn’t ready until the following day. Lady booking my appointment was pleasant.

Brought a car here that wouldn’t start twice in the past 2 days at 11am. They told us it would be ready by 4pm. They called middle of the day said the battery was fine and they will continue to look for any other issues. They called around 4pm and said they couldn’t find anything wrong and to come pick it up.
Obviously something is wrong if the car didn’t start, they said we could bring it back again if there are future problems, but why would we? We paid 20 $ for them to find nothing wrong so why would we come back pay another 20 $ to have them to the same thing and just waste a whole day.
Thanks for nothing Sears, won’t be coming back ever.

Terrible. I waited 20 minutes for someone to help me. I explained that I needed a new TPMS sensor put in the flat tire in the trunk, rebalanced and put back on the car. I handed him the new sensor which I purchased earlier. He quoted me $ 196.00 including tax. When I said that was ridiculous, he said he could do it for $ 77.00. I left.

Never again will I give these people my money. they tried to charge me an extra 15 dollars for a tire rotation when I was in for an oil change service. I have never in my life ever been charged extra for a tire rotation when getting an oil change. Ive been here before 2 other times and never charged me extra. I tried to explain this to the young man but he claims his manager told him it was extra. I will be taking my money to midas.

Been to this location twice.
First time it was excellent service and would of gave it 10 stars.
Last Sunday, I got my battery replaced and then left the auto shop after the installation. However, while on the highway I noticed that when I accelerated past 35MPH that my hood began to start to lift up which I quick pull over off to the side of the road. Whoever installed the battery which I paid $ 20.00 to install never correctly secured my hood to my vehicle.
Shortly after while on the side of the road I called the main number and spoke to «Mel.» Which I stated that I almost got in an accident and asked to speak to the manager. I was informed that no manager was on duty on Sunday but rest a sure that he will call Monday. 7 days later and no call. Very upsetting.

Recently had 4 new tires and a brake job here. I will never return here… even to buy an air freshener!
Dropped my car off as soon as they opened their doors. Picked a brand and model of tire and was assured it was in stock. One hour before their closing someone calls me and says in these exact words, «sir, why did you order these? We don’t have them in stock!» So I find myself in the awkward position of having to choose an alternate model under pressure or drive on bald tires for another week. He tells me he has a Cooper model with the same speed rating… name brand, so I said «sold!» I go pick up the car and it’s the Sears branded tires — Guardsman! I don’t care if Cooper does indeed make them, I don’t want private branded budget tires! But it gets worse…
A week later my low tire pressure goes on. I broke out my PSI gauge and discovered that all 4 tires are 10PSI too low. I took it to a service station and they advised that «whoever installed these» did not clean out the rim, seat the tires properly” so they were not making a proper seal. I called the Manager at Sears to tell him about it and he was in total denial.
Never again.

I was at another service center for an oil change when I was told I needed a new battery. After doing some research I decided to go with a DieHard battery and knew that meant dealing with Sears… or K-​Mart. My father always had luck with this service center in Paramus but that was a long time ago. I figured it was just a battery, what could be the worst thing to happen?
I walked in, there was nobody in the store, figured I would be in and out. I told the guy behind the counter what was going on and he took down some info. He told me I was next up after a ticket that was already hanging on the wall and the shop appeared to be nearly empty. My car went in 15 minutes after I got there (not too shabby), saw the guy open the hood of my car… disappeared for 10 minutes after that. Saw him come back, do something for a minute or two, disappeared again. Then I saw the roach coach show up, amazingly everyone emerged for that! 20 minutes goes by, second break time is over, car is done 15 minutes after that. I could have bought the battery, driven home, replaced the battery, gone back and dropped off the old one all in that time. Not good for speed, but they did what they said they would do… replace the battery.

My experience was terrible. I made an appointment for 4 tires to be put on and was told when I got there that the wait would be 1 hour and 15 minutes. No problem I thought. So I. Waited. And waited and waited. I was so upset because. I had other. Appointments. And had to cancel the. My wait was actually threes hours. I will not recommend sears to anyone

Worst store I have ever been to! One person working the register, phones blowing up, people cutting the line, no structure whatsoever!

I needed a battery installed last Tuesday. Was told three hour wait. I asked very nicely to try to speed it up as I would be waiting. They said they would text me when my car was ready. Walked back to service center and was told that it needed a wheel alignment. I asked for a time frame and was told a half hour since the tires were already off the car. Nobody authorized that since I brought it in for a warranteed battery. I authorized the alignment but it took 75 minutes. I brought the car in at 11 AM and didn’t leave until 4 PM all for a battery. Manager smiled but she was busy with other disgruntled customers… one of which had her car key misplaced by the shop. The line moved very slow with one or two service reps who all looked miserable. There was an elderly service rep that ignored the line, didn’t answer questions and kept walking away from his counter. I observed at least twenty potential cuctomers walk in, get on line and leave after waiting twenty minutes without being helped. Sears really needs to look at their set-​up if they want to remain viable. I was very disappointed as a Sears charge card holder. It seems they rely on mall employees that drop their cars off for convenience.

This place is a joke. Poor service, 1 mechanic out of 10 knows a little about
fixing cars. And the old lady with the gimp leg amazes me with the BS that
she spews at customers questions. The other employees that work upfront
comprise of a mute, a young fat kid with a rotten attitude and serious B.O.
and the old guy with fugaz hair that thinks he knows everything about cars
yet hasn’t touched a wrench since hair grew.
I really should have read the reviews. Stay away or face the people
described above.

I should have read these reviews before coming. They speak the truth.
Came in at 9:30 for two tires to be replaced. Was on line for twenty minutes just to speak to someone.
It was like talking to a car salesman. They first price out some really pricey tires, more than than I exepcted to pay. Then he goes to the back and to find out what else they can do. Why did that take 10 mins? Comes back with another optino. Too high. Then he «discovers» there is one economy tire avilable and another in reserve. Another 10 mins go by as he finds out whether this reserve tire can be sold to me. At one point he says he’s going to check the alignment and it will be $ 15 to have it done, but he will call me to confirm. I gave him my cell. He said it will be done by 12:30 and probably before then. A long wait with a baby and a toddler but I knew the mall was a refuge.
So I call for the status at 11:45 and they say 20 more minutes. Great news I think. I arrive at 12:15. Now I have to wait on line another 20 mintues to find out about the status. Turns out they couldn’t find the paper work. I’m standing on line not clear what is going on. My two little ones getting anxious after a long morning. I have to keep telling the lady to find out the status. No response. 40 minutes go by and they finally find out — it’s not ready yet. Another 20 minutes.
At that point they tell me there’s a waiting room. Would have been nice to know beforehand! But there’s nobody telling you your car is ready. You have to look in the small window and see if they are working on your car and then when you see they drive it out of the garage you know it’s ready. Because you’re just sitting there wathcing your car from the waiting room with nothing better to do right?
They dont call when it’s ready. They just expect you to be watching for it. And then you have to go back on line again to tell them it is ready.
Well at that point it was 1:30. Again, they scramble to find the paperwork. I wanted to punch someone… my toddler needed her lunch and nap long ago. They had no compassion.
Now I’m told the total… way beyond what I expected. What happened? They did an alignment. $ 69. Never was I informed. I was told they would call to confirm. I was given the wrong price as well.
In the end they give me the alignment for $ 20. Didn’t really bring a smile to my face but I accepted it.
But it’s not over. After I left and was on the expressway, what did I see? The tire pressure indicator was going off! Are they incompatant too?
I wasn’t going to turn around after all these kids went throught (you can’t because its route 17 anyway). I knew I woudl have to wait on line again. I went home. My poor wife now has to go back there to straighten it out.
Do not go. Just don’t.
Update: the sensor on all 4 tires is broken they say. I say: you broke it. Why would this happen just as I drove off your lot? No, they won’t fix it either. We have to pay for it. All this aggravation and we have to get more work done. No compensation.
Sears, your brand is tarnished now. I went here because I liked your store. No more.
Update 2: $ 600 is their estimate to replace the sensors on all 4 tires… that they broke. Who can I complain to? Who will listen? Most likely I signed something that waived them of responsibility when I left the store.

Horrible customer service and auto «techs» are not well educated. Took me almost 4 hrs sitting here waiting for them to do 4 tires. I do not recommend this place for any service on your vehicle… Except for maybe wiper blades.

Needed new tires ASAP, so went in to see if they could squeeze me. Line was out the door and the employees were taking forever. Finally when it was my turn, I had this old man who was nothing but rude. I made a joke how I’m a girl, and all I knew was my dad told me my tires were shot. He rolled his eyes and said he needed to see my car and looked annoyed. I showed him, trying to make jokes and be nice and he wouldn’t even respond. Then he finally agreed that they were awful. He told me it would be an hour and a half. I went shopping, ate, came back at the two hour mark just to be sure. Asked about my car where another employee was totally rude and told me my car wasent ready. I waited more, then another nice employee asked what I was waiting for since it looked like they were closing– when I told her she said my car was ready for the last hour!!! I was livid. NEVER going back. It’s one thing if it was a mistake but to have rude customer service too?! Never again.

Horrible customer service…
Went in with my grandfather to get me new tires, when he had a question the woman would constantly interrupt him with the same piece of useless information. Luckily there was another employee who let the other woman know that she got the point across.
Would go there again if that one rude employee wasn’t there! Otherwise, count me out.

Horrible customer service. Waited on line for twenty minutes for one clerk who was on the phone with a customer. The guy in front of me asked her about it and was told, «Well, she had a lot of questions!» Well ok, but can’t you call another associate to help you? I gave up and left. I felt bad for the clerk but still.

The service techs do a good job despite the sheer madness and confusion that is the front desk. The one poor guy working the desk is trying hard to keep up with the volume of Saturday customers but appears overwhelmed and confused.
Memo to the mgmt: you have got to staff the shop correctly for weekend rushes.

Beware! My horror story began with a simple oil change. But first let me add that I routinely service my vehicle and although my Wrangler is a 98 I continued to go to the dealer because I found the service fair and honorable so I didnt’ mind paying a bit more in service cost. However Chrysler closed several locations so in need of an oil change, I went to Sears Automotive in Paramus. I had a simple oil change go rogue. I had 2 addtl service dates that immediately followed because my jeep was experiencing issue after issue since the oil change. I lost 2 paid days of my vacation time to learn in the end, that a) they did not seal my coolant cap properly (Wranglers are bit more involved) causing b) the coolant to spew and as a result, c) did not refill what was spewed d) causing my engine to run hot the next day. Also they talked me into replacing my alternator however I had a subsequent mechanic check and he confirmed that only faulty connections to my battery was the issue. I was suspect given the alternator was less than 3 yrs old which I explained to them.
I will not be returning to Sears Automotive.

I didn’t know anywhere else to take my car in for an evaluation of the shaky steering wheel problem I was having, so I decided Sears was a good place to start.
It looked like Sears staffed up in anticipation for this busy Saturday morning. I didn’t have to wait long before a rep was able to help me. I told Greg the issues I was having with my car and he said he needed to take a look at it and would give me a call when we was finished.
I wandered off into the mall next door for less than a hour when Greg called. I went back to the auto center and he explained to me that my rim was dented and cutting into my tire — causing the steering wheel to jitter. Greg gave me a referral to Euro-​tire to see if they can repair or replace it since they don’t offer this service at Sears.
Overall, professional customer service, up-​front and honest advice, no-​cost evaluation, and a great referral to another tire center for my tire needs.
