I had the pleasure of eating here last weekend with some friends and was pleasantly surprised at the food and our experience. The service was quick and the atmosphere is casual and inviting. Their barbecue sauce has a bit of heat to it and really elevates the barbecue. The prices are low and the servings are huge. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone living in, or driving through, the Paris area.

The BBQ is awesome. I have family in Paris Landing and we make Trolinger’s a must stop every trip. Love the hot sauce ! Pay on your honor like an old Detroit neighbor hood bar. People are very friendly(even to Yankees). But the pulled pork is the star here. If your in the area it’s well worth the time.

Wow! Sometimes you have to sacrifice quality for quantity, but not this time. I’d been hearing about this place for some time, but as I live two counties and more than an hour’s travel away, I had never visited. I found myself in Paris on business today, so decided to give it a try. I ordered the BBQ plate and, as described in other reviews, received a whopping serving of pork piled on a mound of potato salad. A side order each of cole slaw and baked beans, plus a smallish bread roll. Could not even come close to eating it all. The pork was tender and moist without being mushy, the potato salad was very good, the cole slaw was okay(I’m not a big fan a mayo-based slaw) and the beans were a little runny but had a good flavor. The store has a good selection of beers and BBQ sauces/marinades, plus a few unexpected items. Hot Giardiniera and Chicago-style pickle relish. The travel distance makes it prohibitive to make a special trip just to eat some ‘Q, but the next time I am in the area, I plan to stop in again.

This was my third multi-day trip to Paris, TN and the first time I was able to enjoy some sort of authentic local specialty. Got the pulled pork sandwich which was an incredible value, with an interesting slaw and peppery bbq sauce. The regular size was generous. You order, sit down and eat, and pay on the honor system as you leave. If you’re looking for something outside of the corporate hell of chain restaurants, stop here.

Barbecue plate was ok. Service was excellent but this place is a little overrated. Place has a good selection of beers and meats.

This was a great place. We got pulled pork sandwiches for lunch and it was great. We also got bone in rib eye steaks and center cut pork chops to take home. Cooked the steaks the same day and they were full of flavor, the pork chops were great also. It’s nice to see your meat cut in front of you. We need more places like this.

Stopped there last weekend. Had the rib-plate, was surprised when I saw it on the menu board for only $ 6. There is a reason it is only $ 6. I think they first dried the ribs then boiled them. The sauce was tasty, really different, nice and peppery. No beef or sausage on the menu, just pork. The ebans were good, had some of the pulled pork mixed in with them. Potato salad and slaw were average(better then the ribs). Was there with about a half dozen other guys, some had the pulled pork some had the ribs, we all agreed we had better.

Get in there and get yourself a ridiculous amount of food on a plate lunch. $ 5 for a chicken or BBQ plate or $ 6 for the rib plate. Way more food than the average person could or at least should eat. The ribs were better than the BBQ plate. Both were excellent. The ribs were big and juicy. The plate comes with baked beans, slaw, potato salad, and a roll with a heaping portion of meat on top. The Trolinger’s Original BBQ sauce is quite spicy, a little runny, and very vinegar flavored. It’s good. I haven’t tried the chicken plate. BBQ plate has a large handful of pulled pork in leu of ribs. If you happen to land in Paris you’d be a fool not to grab a bite here. This is the only place I’ve ever been where you get your food on the honor system. The place is a butcher shop/BBQ restaurant/convenience store/gas station. Get your plate in the back, grab any drink from the store, sit down and eat, and tell them what you had on your way out the door where you pay.

Every time I’m down visiting my Grandma, we always go here for pork sandwiches with their signature sauce. You get a combo of pork, sauce, sides, and buns that feeds the whole family! My fiancé buys a bottle of their sauce to being back up north, and his family loves it! There’s a reason why everyone in Paris knows this store!

Jame’s P.‘s review says it adequately. We’re only in town a few times a year; usually at Thanksgiving. When our growing clan discovered that Trolinger’s would cook the turkey and have it wrapped and ready to go Thanksgiving morning… Hallelujah! What a time and space saver and… a very moist and succulent bird! Also, love the country style salted hams hanging out for sale. A quaint, but country-cool place to go!

I love Trollinger’s! I haven’t been to Paris in a long time, but believe it or not, my Aunt mails me packages of pulled pork every now and then! I just got 6 gallon-sized feeezer bags filled with pulled pork. She buys it, packs and freezes it, and then ships it overnight with ice packs. I am like a little kid on Christmas when I get a box from her! This time there was BBQ, sauce, and some of her homemade hot-pepper relish. YUM! No one makes pulled pork like Trollinger’s.

the ribs were good I wish they had more vegetables. 6 dry rub ribs, roll, potato salad, baked beans, and Cole slaw. All for 5.99! Also they have fried pies up front where you pay.

I’m recently moved to Paris from California and was hoping my grocery shopping and eating out options would reorient themselves away from the prepackaged, greasy industrial food so common in LA to a more home style straight from the fat of the land type experience. We’ll it’s been a disappointing transition until I was taken by a friend for lunch to Trolinger’s. First, their pricing is amazing, secondly so is their food. They have a well stocked cold slice selection and their meat counter would give anything anywhere a run for the money. Don’t let the gas pumps out front make you thing this is only a eat and run type place. There is much to eat and see in this unpretentious Paris treasure.

I am a vegetarian, however their bbq sauce is great. Their BBQ sandwiches are very popular. You can eat there or take the sandwiches to go. They also have a great deli with many cheeses and meats to choose from. Their store has everything that you’d need for a great party or family party or BBQ.

We have a cabin nearby on Kentucky Lake, and stop by here often on our way home to grab a load of pulled pork. You’d think there would be plenty of opportunities in St. Louis to find good pulled pork and thus no need for this side trip… you’d be wrong. In an area of Tennessee where you can find a good pulled pork sandwich in gas stations and roadside stands, Trolingers stands out as exceptional.
