Amongst the many charming shops in Park City, The Silver Queen stands out. This is a beautiful gallery run by incredibly knowledgeable and attentive people. From paintings to woodwork to hordes of bronze frogs, this gallery has something to appeal to a wide range of artistic tastes. It immediately becomes clear that at the Silver Queen, the staff are not interested in just making the sale. They want to make sure you find the piece that’s right for you. The owner, Timm is gracious and welcoming. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his patrons and he is a big supporter of the artists who display their pieces in his gallery. The other staff members are excellent and very helpful. I’m always amazed that despite the number of people who make purchases there, they can recall specific pieces that I have purchased in the past. It’s that kind of attention that guarantees I’ll keep coming back. Finally, no review would be complete without mentioning King Midas, the resident sophisti-cat. This adorable feline earns his keep by drawing your attention to some of the more comfortable pieces in the gallery — don’t worry, he’ll move if you ask him too. The Silver Queen is one of my favorite places in Park City and definitely worth a visit.

I love this place. Have been visiting annually for years, primarily to purchase frogs, but they have such great other artwork as well. They always have a great collection of frogs, and are very knowledgable. Importantly, Timm and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. When in Park City I usually visit several times to make my frog choices, and they are always helpful, never trying to rush me or sell me things I don’t want. They also have a loyal customer base, and that says a lot. No review of the Silver Queen is complete without mention of King Midas, who rules the place, as it should be. From when my son was small, we’ve always enjoyed visiting with the King. I’m looking forward to my annual trip to ski, and can’t wait to add to my frog collection. My only regret is that I can’t afford to buy more art, as we have now also purchased a couple other pieces here besides frogs, including one by Nano Lopez. No trip to Park City is complete with a stop here, even if just to pet King Midas and say hello to Timm and the gang.

If you are in Park City, UT you have to stop here! The selection of artwork is amazing and the owner, Timm, is extremely knowledgeable about the artists. Great customer service and very friendly. If Timm isn’t there to greet you I’m sure King Midas will. Our art collection has grown and we can’t wait to go back.

I have yet to make it to this gallery but I can tell you that Timm and his team are top notch! Friendly, helpful and funny! They have a lot of great artists, Tim Cotterill, Frank Gonzales(my current favorite!!), George Bucquet(one day I WILL have a piece of his gorgeous glass), and numerous other artists. This gallery not only carries beautiful and unique artwork they also have their own philanthropy that I have purchased raffle tickets for… I didn’t win but the money goes to a WONDERFUL cause! So if you want to shop at an art gallery that really is helpful(all of my correspondences have been phone calls and e-mails and they always follow up or get back to me) than this is the place for you! One day I hope to actually make it here and meet Timm, the gang AND King Midas!!!:)

I absolutely ADORE this gallery. There is a distinct look and feel to art galleries in Park City. Neutral tones, mountainous landscape paintings, moose sculptures, log-constructed tables. You get the drift. Silver Queen is nothing like this– a real breath of fresh air in this quaint, high-altitude town. You walk into the brightly-lit, colorful gallery and are immediately greeted by one of the friendly staff; most likely Timm, the gallery owner. He is jovial and warm and you will feel like you just ran into an old friend(so different from those pretentious galleries where you feel like you can’t say a word. Or breathe.). After you feel genuinely welcome to be perusing the gallery, you will behold some of the greatest modern art talent out there. There is so much to see in this whimsical little space, you could easily spend an hour or two. Some of my favorite artists have a home here: Frank Gonzalez, Nano Lopez, Richard Salcido, Anthony Granato, Josh Simpson, and Ed Pennebaker. There is always new talent being added. I am always anxious to see what new work/artists I discover since my last visit here. As a young professional, I didn’t foresee myself becoming a collector. I never considered myself able to have a collection, because of the cost involved with purchasing fine art. Silver Queen has so much to offer, in all varieties of price considerations. I have even been able to acquire beloved Tim Cotteril(Frogman) sculptures for my young son’s collection! Finally, as a collector, I’ve attended numerous Silver Queen events. Boy, do they know how to put on a bash! It always ends up being my favorite events of the year, and they ALWAYS host a wonderful charity. One of my favorite events had an auction with proceeds going to Friends of Animals Rescue Foundation(I’m an animal lover!), which is where King Midas came to be… I ALMOSTFORGOT. King Midas! He’s the resident gallery cat and he has no qualms with saying hello. He is quite regal and has shared the gallery couch with some of Hollywood’s biggest names during Sundance Film Festival! Make sure to grab his business card on the way out. You can follow him on Facebook too! If you appreciate art, or beauty, or the odd, or color, or shapes, do yourself a favor and visit. Whether you have an unlimited and expendable income to invest in fine art, or you’re like me, and have to budget and save to enjoy these beautiful and interesting pieces, you will not be disappointed.

Most of the galleries on Main Street had art befitting that winter log cabin. Animals in the wild, majestic mountain scenes, flowers with water… zzz…snoresville. Not Silver Queen. It’s a small gallery, placed beneath the Silver Queen Hotel. They had all modern art, most with a twist. The most striking piece was an octopus table(picture the base, which you would set glass upon) made of bronze and colored red and black. Totally gorgeous, but priced at $ 12K was our of our take home price range. But trust me, it was not to be forgotten. Nano Lopez had an interesting sculpture collection here made up of animals. From a cat to giraffe to ox to peacock, this series was quite remarkable in texture(think cogs and strategic adornments) but were also compact enough in size to be usable in the home décor. They could easily be used on a table top or to adorn a shelf. The most memorable collection was by Richard Salcido. His paintings were mostly faces of girls, but the edge was so urban and frank it was really telling the truth of its subjects. «After Class» and«Identify» were outstanding pieces but«No Place Like Home» was the standout of the gallery. Silver Queen is a definite stop on your walk of Main Street!
