Ordered gyros and fries they were good. Most people are paying with coupons I wish I would have had a coupon some of them are buy one get one free. Nothing special but your typical fast-food place clean fast service good customer service

Huge menu and good turn around on orders. The prices aren’t dirt cheap but the quality makes it reasonable.

I work minutes away from this location and it is a great little food place to visit. The staff members were amazing, patient, and informative as it was my first time there and they informed me of the special. The best part(besides the food) is the price — you can’t beat it. They have a returning customer.

Just a quick comment before my review. As you drive up, notice that Wally’s is right next to McDonald’s. Do you recall Eddie Murphy’s“Coming to America” and McDowell’s? Well Wally’s is similar with their logo but basically mimics McDonald’s logo except upside down. Lol Anyway, this place is your typical Greek fast food joints that also have burgers, chicken, ribs and a ton of other stuff on their menu. What’s great about them is they also have coupons that circulate through snail mail that offer some crazy deals. Take for instance the deal for buy one get one free gyros and drink for $ 7.19UNBELIEVABLE!!! Anyway, the food is delicious and pretty comparable to many of the restaurants alike. If you’re in the area, try them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food. The Greek salad is huge they do not skimp on olives, feta cheese etc. like so many other restaurants do. They have a great typical but large Greek menu. Whenever we pick up the salads, chicken, ribs, always happy with the food and service.

They added an area that feels outdoorsy. Th food is still good. The restrooms are very clean. I just wish that they had their special salads advertised on the main menu; they have it on a pice of paper standing by the cashier but they have no good visibility do I keep seeing them Well after I’ve already ordered my food.

I go by this place everytime I go to Des Plaines library and have wanted to check it out. Tried the char grilled polish and fries. Pluses, the polish was grilled just right with all the fixings;only drawback the fries Don’t come with the sandwich, you have to order them separately. The Gyros seems to be the signature item on the menu so I’ll try that when I’m craving a Gyros and in the area. Don’t know why this place got lower reviews. I was here about 5pm and there was about 8 people already there. Staff was cheerful. Lots of choices on the menu;fair prices, not cheap but overall a fair value for good food. Not many places have a char grilled polish. This place has a good char grilled polish as well as many menu items. Check it out;three blocks east of metra UP-NW Dee road station on the NW corner of Oakton/Northwest hwy.

4 stars overall. They are a solid place for a good meal. Had the gyros and cheese frys tonight. Both were good. I like their gyros because they are easy to eat. The cheese frys are awesome, but eat them there. When you take them home they are too soggy Food 4 Quality 4 Service 4 Atmosphere 3 Speed 4

The staff is not very friendly. They want you to order right away. There is also a strange odor inside. If you sit down to eat, the staff likes to clean the tables around you using spray bottles that stink bad. French fries are thin and greasy. Gyros are good, but the treatment and strange smells scare you away. I do not recommend this place

This is place is ridiculously expensive for the customer service they provide, from the guy taking the order to the lady at the register. I placed 3 orders, assuming i was gonna be charged separately, when i got there I asked to pay separately the cashier gave me the stink eye and said ‘next time you gonna tell me in the phone” I would of understand that maybe it was an issue but she could of say it in a nicer tone. the menu i had at work must of been really old. It said $ 7.99 for a Gyro plate and it was $ 10.99 when i picked up, I have had wayyyy better gyro meat, the sauce was watery like if water was added to it. They forgot to give me a large fry so when i asked for it they charged me an additional $ 3.33 for it!!! I normally spend a lot of money on good food, but after today’s experience i know am not going back to this place and definitely not recommending it to anyone.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would give it that. Everyone who ordered gyros seemed to be pretty satisfied. I ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner and it was okay… not spectacular, just what you would expect from a place like this. The Greek salad was really delicious and so was the spanokopita. I would definitely steer people to order Greek when they go here. The owners are Greek and that’s clearly what Wally’s does best. In agreement with other reviews, the customer service was great. Our(very large) pick up order was ready on time and they even offered us free drinks while we waited for a last minute addition to our order.

This place is fantastic. They do hot dogs and italian beef extremely well. The most impressive thing was how quickly they arrived. I got my food in 17 minutes! I highly recommend Wally’s.

Wally’s is very nearby my home and therefore my main option when I feel like scarfing some greasy food. This tends to happen on work-from-home days, mostly because it’s close and quick. Most of the basic stuff is a-okay. PDG polish sausage. Italian beef, nice flavor and very generous with the meat. Hot dogs are all right and the fries… eh, they’re okay. Let’s just say that the inverted arches logo is not the only thing that Wally’s has stolen from its corporate fast-food neighbor. So if you like those fries, you will love these, especially when hot and fresh. The sweet potato fries were, disappointingly, crinkle-cut jobbies, but I have to give them props for tasting strongly like sweet potatoes. It’s not always a given. Other stuff is meh. Questionable turkey burger – feels rubbery and tastes like it has a lot of fillers. Onion rings forgettable, mostly breading. Rib tips are not good. NOT good. The moderately sized dining room is bright and clean. I’ve never eaten in but wouldn’t mind it. They do a brisk weekday lunch business with multiple registers and a lot of takeout orders. Your food will be cooked to order and ready promptly. You will also consistently see samples of spinach pie on the counter. Take one – or two.

Don’t use GrubHub to order. I ordered what I usually get: a corned beef melt. It came not toasted at all with no cheese. Also, the fries are soggy and limp and it’s very VERY pricey. It was 35 dollars for 2 people to get a hot dog, side and a drink.

Food is just ok. Gyros is average at best, Boobys in Niles has tastier gyros and pita bread. My wife and I came in to dine in and proceeded to pay with a certificate and I was told that they are no longer accepting them. I ended up paying with cash instead. It would have been a bigger problem if I didn’t have the cash. I contacted regarding this incident and they responded… «Each restaurant does sign a contract with agreeing to accept all certificates sold, even if the restaurant decides to discontinue participation with .» With that being said, Wallys needs to do a lot better job of educating their FOH employees.

I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn’t will myself to give it the benefit of the doubt. I’d compare it to any of the ‘____Red Hot’s’ places that are around IL. That or Portillos. I was actually on my way to Portillos since I was craving Italian beef and just pulled in here cause it was closer. I ended up getting the Italian beef and a side of cheese fries, and the gf got the mozzarella sticks. The Italian beef was alright. It was like generic Italian beef that you could make at home if you bought all the stuff at the grocery store and have a crock pot. I did like how they put the sauce on the side. I do like a wet bun but don’t like holding one, so that was a def plus. The mozzarella sticks were a little pricey and weren’t that good. I’m guessing it was frozen for a while before they threw it in a fryer for us. The cheese fries were pretty bad. Obviously it’s the fake melted cheese that most places give out, but this one just tasted so weird. And it did not help that the fries were just so bad. Like I’m not sure if they were under cooked or just that soggy normally, but I just couldn’t get myself to finish it, and I hate wasting food. Though I think I ordered the wrong thing because most everyone else in the place got the gyros. I would give it 2 stars but they do have good customer service, so 3 it is.

Good food, but a little on the pricey side to come back here. The problem is that a sandwich ranges 6 – 9 dollars but if you want a drink and fries it jumps up to 12 – 14 for a meal. A bit much for a casual place. P. s. my biggest pet peeve is when the tip section is printed out on the receipt for a place like this– self served. It puts you on a guilt trip.

Wallys has been here forever. My brother in law loves it. My wife and I just stopped for lunch. I got the Italian beef with sweet peppers. We both agreed that we didn’t like the gravy. Something was unusual with the flavor. Can’t put my finger on it but just not right. Onion rings were good though.

I think Wally’s has thee best gyros! No joke! It is very tasty and I love that they always give sauce on the side when it’s a to go order! Smart! The sandwich is huge and I always manage to scarf down the whole thing… sometimes I regret that decision. The burgers, ribs, pizza puffs, and fries are very good as well! I knocked off one star because I feel like some of the employees taking the orders could be a little friendlier. They aren’t rude… but, there isn’t a pleasant welcome. Sometimes a smile and a «you’re welcome» in response to your«thank you» goes a long way. Food is yummy, I disagree with reviews calling it bland, and the place is cute… so, I will continue to go back!
