I am from the Parkersburg WV area, but I have lived out of state for 25 years in NC, IN, and now in FL. I have yet to find a pizza nearly as good as The Pizza Place. Actually, I like Jets Sicilian as far as a regional chain, but still nothing like The Pizza Place. Visiting the family for the holidays and will be sure to stop by for a slice! My wife will not be with me, so I had better keep it quiet. She is not from WV, but over this pizza as well.

Best pizza ever! I have searched everywhere for better pizza and nothing beats Pizza Place Sicilian style pizza. The amount of cheese on each slice is ridiculous. I love it. I always make sure I have a slice or ten when I am back in town.

Be warned — there are apparently two restaurants called The Pizza Place. The one on Dudley Street serves your typical mediocre pizza on paper plates and soda in styrofoam cups. Really sweet kids working there, though. Just not what we were expecting from the Unilocal description.

The best!!! My absolute favorite thick crust pizza! It’s a family tradition. Anytime someone is visiting from out of town we always take them.

This place has went down hill over the last few years. I used to go here often. The pizza has become overly expensive, and it does not have the same fresh taste it used to. The people that work there are very nice, it’s just not the same.

Great pizza! The flavors are phenomenal in the pies! I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a c great pizza that will make your taste buds happy. Also, you can order by the slice! Easy 5 stars for this place!

We grew up with the Pizza Place. When we are back in town on breaks from military service it is one of the first restaurants we visit. Sicilian pizza here rivals any pizza we had in both the New York and central California areas. We highly recommend this pizzeria.

Best pizza on earth. Fresh, Hot, Homemade and classic. It’s like«going home for the holidays» Food coma! The location in the grand Central Mall is nice, The location on Dudley Ave. is nice. But I recently went to the location on Southside and it wasn’t as great. Always a fan 38 years and counting.

Oh Pizza Place, you are the pizza of my childhood and are now the pizza to which every other pizza will be compared. Generally they are found wanting. I have to have a slice whenever I am in town. You should try both the this and the thin. The crust is phenomenal and the sauce is delicious. The pepperonis crisp up and make magic with the cheese. The sausage is also a good choice. You pretty much cannot go wrong. The pepperoni rolls are a great snack. You should try it but be warned that unless you live in town you will forever be craving it.

By far the best pizza I’ve ever had. The pepperoni is the best part! The arcade games are great for keeping kids occupied, and the Jukebox is just way too cool!

Ehh, it is okay. If it is in front of me, I’ll eat it and maybe somewhat enjoy it. Not the best pizza, even in town.

I liked that the pizza was different from all the usual places. Unfortunately, mine was undercooked and it was very soggy in the middle. My friend ordered a sub and asked for no mayo, and they drenched it in mayo on both sides so bad he couldn’t really eat it. They charge for refills. On a different night, and perhaps with different workers, this place would have been a better meal.

This is the pizza by which I judge all other pizza by. It’s amazing. Best cheese, best crust(thick or thin, can’t go wrong!), best everything. Yes, there are pools of grease in the pepperoni, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sadly, I no longer live in the area but I’m not ashamed to admit I have dreams about this place. Really often.

I love small pizzerias. After reading the reviews, I had really high hopes for this place. A few things, first, if you order a pizza with extra cheese, you shouldn’t see sauce coming through all over the pizza. Next, there was almost no flavor to this pizza whatsoever and it was horribly greasy. I bought a pizza and three of their garlic/cheese bread twists. Paid a little over thirty dollars for the order. You would think that pizza that expensive would blow your mind. I ate two slices because I was really hungry. This pizza is awful, same as some of the other pizza in Parkersburg. The only reason I’m not giving it one star is because it was at least edible(not rotten). I cant believe I’m saying this, but if you’re visiting the Parkersburg area, stick to the major chains if you get a pizza craving. I’m in agreement with Michelle, don’t understand the hype and way too much grease…

I crave this stuff. The pizza is unreal! Whenever I go back home, I like to swing by for a slice of Sicilian thick crust with nice little grease cups of pepperoni on top! Yum

Always have to stop here when I visit my parents. You can’t go wrong with two slices of Sicilian peperoni.

Tried The Pizza Place on the last day of my visit to Parkersburg. The pizza was good, but not sure what all the hype is about. I got a slice of pepperoni on thin crust and it was extremely greasy. The pepperoni had little puddles of grease. I had to use a bunch of napkins to soak it all up. The crust, however, was soft and freshly made. Overall, a good pizza, but not the best I’ve ever had.

I am originally from Parkersburg and grew up eating pizza place pizza. I moved to Columbus after college and looked for pizza that was half as good as pizza place but only came close one time. Now I live in Chicago and am still searching! Pizza place uses quality sausage, pepperoni and cheese. Their crust is so wonderful, it’s soft but crunchy at the same time. I like the Chicago deep dish pizzas but you just can’t beat the new york style from pizza place!

Best. Pizza. Ever. I’ve had lots of pizza, in lots of places, including Italy, and this is my favorite. As another reviewer mentioned, these are thick slices with lots of dough. That is not typically my kind of pizza, but this stuff is just so good. I don’t know if it’s the cheese, the little pepperoni that curls up, or what. Probably a combination of that and more. Whatever it is, I wish I could find something like it where I now live. The place is also clean. The service is good. Really everything you could want in a pizza place. Oh, and the best name ever too.

As did most PHS alums, I ate there every day in the mid eighties. I moved away, and my ability to enjoy the Pizza Place has been reduced to far and few in between, with my last visit being in 2003 sometime. With that being said, it is EVERYTHING that I remembered and more. I was disappointed to not see Miguel(who I assume has retired by now). By far the best pizza I have eaten, anywhere, domestically or abroad. If you are in this area, do not miss the opportunity eat here. Service is friendly, fast, and efficient. Restaurant is consistently clean. I may buy a couple to take home and freeze.
