I have purchased crabs here and have been disappointed as well. All this talk about sizing based on market conditions is a bunch of bull. Sizing should be: Small Crabs 5 – 5 ½ inches Medium Crabs 5 ½−6 inches Large Crabs 6 – 6 ½ inches Jumbo Crabs 6 ½−7 inches Colossal or Heavyweights 7 plus inches — These crabs are a rarity and therefore are not always available Pricing could be based on market conditions but size isn’t. Availability could be based on market conditions but size isn’t. Why not be honest with the people and tell them they are 5 to 5−½ or 6−6-½ or whatever they are. Don’t say your selling large crabs and then give them 5 to 5−½ crabs. That’s just an out and out lie. I have been buying mine elsewhere at places that are honest.

Wow! From start to finish I can’t say enough about She’s Got Crabs! The bushel was a neverending supply of large, perfectly steamed and seasoned crabs. The staff is friendly and helpful too. This is THE place to get crabs!

I’m disappointed to see all the negative reviews of this place. I’ve been going here for the past 4 years– ever since I moved to New Freedom. They are conveniently located and service has always been good. I typically go for the $ 1 crabs– I know I’m getting smalls but they are heavy and I can’t complain about the price. They also always seem to throw in a few extra crabs which is a nice surprise. I guess if I was paying $ 200 for the smalls I would be disappointed but since I go the cheap route, I have no complaints.

Order two dozen large crabs for fathers day, however they were not large. In fact, some of them were barely even legal according to Maryland state law. Now I ate them, and I didn’t complain because I was able to get them on fathers day, but under normal circumstances I would have probably raged out. They were good, but super light and tiny. Service was also pretty great, which save this review from being a total stinker It is a shame that a company would pass those for large, but what can you do? Not a whole lot, but hopefully my Unilocal review will at least let management know, that it wasn’t quite right. It appears other Unilocalers have a similar opinion. I don’t often give poor reviews, so it’s not like I’m just to complainer or something!

They came through for me again! Got a couple dozen small/mediums last night. On the small side– yeah, but as I mentioned previously in my review– they were all heavy for their size all still kicking when I got them home. Folks complaining about the size– know that crab sizes are *relative*. The large you had somewhere last night does not mean the large you have tonight will be the same size. «Large» means large compared to the other crabs they have– not compared to all the other crabs you’ve had in your life. This is a product of *God*- not WalMart. It’s sad to me that so many Marylanders don’t get this. In Maryland, there is no standard«large», «medium» or «small». It’s whatever is coming up at the time. It’s not the fault of the place serving it. Today’s whale is tomorrow’s medium. Crabs are running small this year. Unless you have a firm grip on what other places are offering *this day*- knock it off. Judge a crab by its quality, not size. A nice little perk– they threw in about eight feet of butcher’s paper to cover the table. I can’t believe more crab places haven’t thought of this. It’s an extra that costs the establishment little but is a HUGE benefit for the customer. It makes for a really neat table and easy clean up– great thinking SGC!

I usually get all my crabs from Capt Bobs in Manchester but decided to try the 3 doz med. special they were running. When I arrived, as it happens sometimes, they were out of the med’s. The older guy under the tent said they had smalls. I have been eating crabs my whole life and when I very rarely buy small crabs I always look at them first as they may be spiders not worth the trouble. Well the old man says they are 5 inches. I said thank you but I would like to see them if you don’t mind. Its not that I do not know what 5 inches looks like I just wanted to see the size of the claws and whether they were all running around 5″ not a mix of mostly spiders. Either way I have never had any crab dealer act like it was an issue to show the live crabs. Instead he says in a shitty tone. I thought when I said 5″‘s that covered it! Well I am done at this point. I can spend my money at a number of crab places in the area and in fact spent 100.00 at T&T seafood an hour later. I thought it was She’s Got Crabs not She’s Got Attitude! After writing this I realized that the only issue it could be is a high number of dead crabs in his bushel. They have been accused of steaming the dead ones

Bad crabs, generic spice, and cook the dead. If you know crabs you should know that they should not be done like this. A better seafood business is right up the street. I was a customer a while ago and noticed how they left trash everywhere and were just very unsanitary. Maybe it has changed but after my first experience I will never go again.

HUGERIPOFF! Bought large crabs two weekends in a row and found tiny barely legal crabs in bottom of bag. I complained and was told we’d be «hooked up». The next weekend it was the same– TINY barely legal crabs. Many of my neighbors have had the same complaint. Don’t waste your money!!!

You will not be disappointed. The spice alone is worth going back for. The service is great and they know what they’re doing there. You will get what you ordered and will want to return. Great owner and the staff are friendly. Try them out. I think they’ve changed their status to open all year… not sure about that, but I believe that’s so.

Good crabs. I got the L/XL crabs and the were mostly good size and weight, although 2 or 3 medium did find their way in the bag. Nice crab spice and were the cheapest crabs out of the 6 that I called locally today. I have gotten crabs there a couple of times and would definitly go back. Prices available on website. Open from April 1st to December 1st, very convienient to ROUTE83.
