Curbside Cafe Famous Hot Dogs

Place is definitely solid but I don’t get what all the high praise is for. Been there a few times and have only had their hot onions and their chili. Both are a solid 3 – 3.5 stars but nothing spectacular. The best hot dog place in nj in my opinion is Tony’s in Newark. Again this is place is good but definitely not worthy of 4 and 5 star reviews imo

This place is the bomb. The location next to the adult bookstore turned me off in the past. But after reading it made #3 in the top 25 hot dog joints in NJ, in the Star Ledger, I had to give it a whirl. I had planned on doing so earlier this week only to find out they closed at 4pm.
So today I made the short trip there. I parked in the back with easy access to the jug handle for New Rd and Route 46. I ordered a chili cheese dog and a sauerkraut dog with mustard and ketchup. When I got the dogs the sauerkraut one also had homemade onions on it. I didn’t turn it back, as I said what the heck, it’s got to be good. I’m glad I got it with the homemade onions. That dog was fabulous. It was a little spicy but still the bomb. The chili cheese dog was next and had to be the best chili cheese dog ever. They will be seeing a lot of me. The total cost of lunch was $ 6.00 including a black. cherry soda. It was well worth it.

Classic New Jersey hot dogs. Had an italian hotdog with the fixins for lunch. Tasty dog, great price, easy lunch. I even brought my poodle with me. I love when I can bring him to dine with me. Some picnic tables make this a great place for a good lunch «on the go» Can’t wait to come again and get the sausage and pepper sandwich.

This place is right around the corner from where I work so I stop by every once and awhile. It is a strange location to park a food truck in front of an adult boutique, but you know what? The dogs are good and the service is always friendly so who cares! Plenty of parking in the front and back and if you’re making a pit stop, it’s easy enough to get back on 46 east or west. I’ve tried lots of different combinations and all are good. FYI, the homemade onions are in a red sauce and are a little spicy (love it!!). I haven’t tried their cheesesteaks or sausage sandwiches yet. Their Italian hot dogs are ok, but you may want to go elsewhere for those — doesn’t mean they’re bad, just that some other places do them better. Enjoy!

I am always happy when I stop and eat here. Service is outstanding, and the chili is fantastic. I can’t vouch for all other toppings, I try to stick with the chili.

I don’t usually review a place the first time I eat there, but today’s lunch made me change that rule. I’m always on the lookout for Jersey’s best hot dog joint so I finally decided, after years of driving past it, to stop at the Curbside Café truck today. I am SOOOOO glad I did.
Kept it simple for the first visit… cheese dog, chili dog, and one all the way (chili, cheese, onions, and kraut). As I’ve said before, I prefer dogs on the grill, but these natural cased dirty water dogs were tremendously delicious. I’ve eaten a LOT of dogs since joining Unilocal and these dogs today are very high on the list-​no wonder the Star Ledger voted this place as the best hot dog truck in NJ. Chili and cheese dogs were just great, with a nice snap when I bit into the dogs. The ‘All the Way’ had a great sweet and savory combo that must have come from the onions. So.friggin.good. Huge fan of the chili, which the guy told me they make fresh daily.
In fact, I think I need one more to go. If that isn’t a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is.

Outstanding chile dogs. A big negative is you feel kind of dirty pulling out of the porn store parking lot. I noticed people looking at me as they pulled up next to me at the light. Wound up taking side roads home.
Their location is really limiting their business. Which is a shame because the dogs are great.
Find another place. Anyplace. There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that go to porn stores and those that don’t. Most, especially women, are part of the latter group. Your business will increase exponentially with a different location.

Weird location, but great hot dogs. Had the chili cheese dog and a cheesesteak. The hot dog was quality– had this nice snap to it when I bit in. The flavor also wasn’t overpowered by the taste of the chili either. Pretty darn good for two bucks. The cheesesteak was nice and filling. Even though they use cheese wiz instead of real cheese, it wasn’t greasy and had a nice flavor to it. I’ll definitely be back to this place.

OMG kinda scared this truck is so close to my work LOL. GREAT dogs. Chili or hot onions are sooooooo good. 2 dogs and a soda 5 bucks. Great find. Oh and I pride myself on knowing all the hot dog joints in NJ and this is right up there with the best.
