Overall nice décor with friendly service. The egg roll had too much meat but tasted good. Egg roll will taste better had they put less meat and more the condiments. The soup noodle was just ok. I prefer the taste of Saigon in E. Hanover or NYC. Just can’t understand why jersey have such a huge population of Vietnamese but none of the food is superb.

Stopped in for lunch based on the reviews. Moderate décor and strip mall location do not make this a high ambiance establishment but I was more interested in the food. We split an order of the pork and shrimp spring rolls which came with a tasty peanut sauce and were very good. There was a decent amount of filler and you could taste all the ingredients. For our entrees I went with the banh mi which was served on a crusty and soft baguette with a very delicious shaved pork that had some spice and plenty of flavor. It was dressed with jalapenos, cilantro and shaved carrots. The sandwich was one of the better banh mi’s I have had. The wife had the shrimp phở which was huge and incredibly flavorful. There were plenty of noodles and shrimp and enough veggies to make this a very filling lunch. My main issue were the service. I had to ask several times for drinks. The brought out my sandwich and then 5 minutes later the soup so I had to wait to eat it. Then they brought out the bean sprouts and peppers for the soup another 5 minutes later once the soup was have gone. I am willing to try again and see if the service improves.

Under new management. Phở price went up so much 3 to 4 dollars. One that I used to eat is now $ 15 dollars. I can’t pay phở for 15 dollars. I’m not going there any more. Phở supposed to be cheap dish. And also place is ghost town. Next door indian, mexican, and korean Restaurants are busy while I was there. I guess all the customers left because higher price.

This is a 4 star restaurant? Must be a bunch of white people rated this place. Food is average, as in i can cook it myself at home. However, they are so stingy with the food. Portion is tiny. For almost 11 dollars for com suon bi cha, you get a tiny piece of meat. Highly disappointed. Never again. Sold by a vietnamese to another vietnamese no less — shame on you!

Found this place on Unilocal and came her on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We were seated quickly as there was only another table besides us. The server gave us water and some dry roasted peanuts. I ordered the rice and grilled pork dish while my wife ordered the grilled pork vermicelli noddles. Our kids had the beef phở soup which they enjoyed. On the other hand, I was not impressed with my dish at all. It seemed that it was old and reheated. The rice was dry along with the crab pork patty. Maybe it was left overs from the day before. I did enjoyed our appetizer which was the grilled pork banh mi sandwich. Next time if we do go back I will definitively try something else.

Very nice, polite server. Food and drinks were great. We had«salted lemonade(iced)» it was very interesting, very lemony, sweet and salty. Also had Thai iced tea, it was one of the best I have had. We had seafood empanadas, like a giant cheese wonton only much much yummier. We also had the Best of Both Worlds Spring Rolls, wow… wow…wow, so good, could make a meal out of just them. We then shared a LG bowl of roast pork Phở, was very good, very fresh and clean tasting. Portion was more than enough for two. We will be going again soon. Little gem in an odd strip mall.

Great lunch spot, consistent, reasonably priced, located in a strip mall off route 46. 4.5 — Food 4 — Service 3.5 — Décor Spring Rolls — Great Flavor, served hot, crunchy, fresh lettuce and mint on side. Grilled Pork Buns — Excellent texture, good flavor, fresh ingredients, can’t go wrong here. Chicken with lemon grass and chili — Great mix of flavors, I could get this every time. It is a little oily but the flavor is so good I don’t really care. This place would be great to grab a sit down lunch with friends/coworkers or if you are looking for a reasonably priced dinner/byob. People have mentioned the dining area can be loud, but it seemed fine to me and I care more about how good the food is versus most other things. 4 — 4.5 Overall

Located in a little strip shopping/restaurant area with parking, is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We can in for Sunday lunch at 1pm and there was only one other customer. Anyhow, we were greeted and quickly seated and ordered our food. First, we were surprised with the complimentary peanuts at a Vietnamese restaurant, which was pleasant. Normally, it’s only Chinese restaurants that give either the salted peanuts or crispy noodle chips with duck sauce. The food quickly came. We ordered the grilled pork banh mi which they cut in four pieces which was perfect for appetizer. I love the seasoning of the pork and the fact that it’s cooked to perfection. It was crispy slightly burnt ends and juicy succulent meat. The baguette was slightly toasted which made a crunch as soon as you bite into the sandwich. For main meal, I had grilled pork and spring rolls with vermicelli noodles. Yes, you guessed right. It was the very same grilled pork that was used for the banh mi, which was very yummy so it was perfect. Overall, lunch was good. Service was friendly. There’s parking. The price is average as any other Vietnamese restaurant. The banh mi was $ 6.50 and my lunch was $ 9. My kids phở is $ 8.50 for a nice medium size bowl. It’s $ 1 extra for large. Most rice dishes is $ 9 to $ 12. I was full leaving the place but next time, I will definitely save room for dessert. They have rainbow shaved ice, che ba mau!

I come here weekly for lunch! Fantastic soups(i’ve tried most of them) and excellent appetizers, which i’ve also tried almost all. Beyond the soups and apps, their main entrees are delicious and provide great flavor punch! Very authentic Vietnamese cuisine!

A co-worker and I hit this place for lunch today. Outstanding Phở! Amazing, flavorful broth, paper-thin rare slices of beef, loaded with noodles and all sorts of good things. Split an order of(4) spring rolls with my buddy– crunchy and flavorful with a nicely-sweet dipping sauce. The 5 star rating bumped down to 4 stars because due to the incredibly loud dining room. Carrying on a lunchtime conversation was virtually impossible. The 4 star rating bumped Dow to 3 stars due to the complete and total absence of a waiter. We got our app and then our meal in under 30 minutes(still quite a long wait for a bowl of soup during the lunch rush) but out side plates of bean sprouts, lime, and basil wasn’t brought to the table for another 15 minutes. Water didn’t show up until just about the time we were finishing up. We waited another 30 minutes to see the check. 90 minutes from start to finish is just a bit excessive. My final word: great food, nice prices, big portions. But don’t come here if you’re strapped for time.

We stumbled in here last night because we are looking to move in the area, over all the service was great and the food was even better! We had the spring rolls and the stuffed fried chicken for appetizers and phở for the main dish to share. We got the large size which was more than enough for two people! Definitely our next go-to for Phở!

Nice décor. They have spent a lot of the décor. Kind of looks upscale. Sadly the food was pretty bad. The Phở was just not good. It was very sweet and did not have the flavors of phở. Overall very disappointed. The service was meh. The food came out quick but the staff did not seem happy to see us.

Stopped for lunch with the family and I don’t quite know what happened since the last time we were here(~a month ago?). It’s the food — flavors are NOT the same and was ‘just OK’;food was a bit overly salted and what was formerly the pride of their work, the Phở, was rather bland and lacked depth of flavor. The three people in our family who had phở had made this comment. I tasted their broth and confirmed their observations. Don’t get me wrong the food still LOOKED flavorful but it was abundantly clear that major changes were made with the seasonings for all of the dishes we ate today — ranging from the pork buns, to the peanut sauce for the summer rolls, the banh mi, and the Phở broth. OMG the broth! I’m saddened. It’s as if they tried to compensate for the flavor with the extra salt. Keeping it short because the meal was a letdown. We left quite disappointed. Please restore the beautiful flavors

We have come here several times this year. Mostly because Olive Garden, Sushi, Dosa and Biryani don’t cut it over and over… Life is short, but not that short. At first, I was really impressed– fresh food, healthy ingredients and a kind of food that is hard to come by in NJ. Then later I noticed that anytime I order pork, there is barely any meat in my dish. I call it «touched by pork». Another grievance is their service– as much as I assume this is a family operation, the lady is extremely inattentive, distracted, and slightly rude. Even just to ask for serving spoon takes ages, and honestly they should think of scenarios themselves. I’m going tonight again and really hope they have a grip on this.

I had my random craving for Vietnamese food so my boyfriend and I chose Phở Thanh Huong for dinner last weekend. The interior is really nice, pleasant for a sit down dinner with lots of personal space. The nicest décor in a viet place i’ve seen in NJ. Their AC was broken but i won’t hold it again them, the waiter apologized for it once we were seated. We each ordered thai iced teas and the grilled pork summer rolls to start. Thai iced teas were classic and delicious. The summer rolls were refreshing with a good crunch to the veggies. Their sesame dipping sauce wasn’t as good as my fav place in bloomfield but still tasty. I usually like a really«peanutty» dipping sauce: P For entrée’s i got the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and spring rolls. The spring roll pieces were hot and crispy. I think the inside was veggie, i couldn’t tell but they were so awesome i didn’t care. The grilled pork was my favorite part, just the right balance of chewy and crispy and savory. Everything else in the bowl was pretty standard. My bf got the house special with beef chicken and shrimp. He subbed squid for shrimp(the right decision in my opinion). It came in a brown gravy(similar to chinese chicken and broccoli sauce but a little different) on a pile of large, flat fries noodles. It was so good i finished it for him hehe. I will definitely be back!

Where are all the 5 star reviews coming from?! I really wanted to like this place since it’s 5 minutes from my parent’s. But after 2 very bad experiences, I’m never wasting my time here again. First time was a couple weeks after they opened. Service was slow since there was only one guy(poor dude) waiting the whole restaurant. Practically every table was staring at the kitchen wondering where their food was. It took over an hour, but the food was decent. Meh, I’ll blame it on the fact that they’re new at this. Second time was a couple months after they opened. It was Father’s Day. so needless to say they should’ve known there would be a full house AND they’ve had plenty of weekends to «practice». But this time was worse than the first. Waitresses were slow, had no sense of urgency with all the people waiting for food and were not able to answer some questions about the menu. My family and I got there at 12:30 and left at 2. and we are fast eaters. This is unacceptable for a Vietnamese restaurant where food should be out on the table in 10 mins at most. Now when the food came out 45 minutes later, we got basically half a bowl of noodles and soup. Either they chose the wrong bowls for us, or didn’t have enough soup to go around so had to give everyone less. Normally I would’ve complained but I just wanted to get the hell outta there. Also, thai iced tea and practically all the desserts were sold out at 12:30pm. Wtf? The only silver lining was that the grilled pork was the best I’ve ever had. Could’ve given more, but the flavor was on point. If you must come here, I’d recommend the phở with grilled pork chop.

A small-ish restaurant. Appears to be family owned/operated. I order the Bun with shrimp — it was excellent. Also ordered the summer rolls — very huge, fresh-made and delicious. Everybody in the restaurant was ordering them. I highly recommend!

I’m actually really surprised at all the great reviews. I had really high hopes for this place but I unfortunately left disappointed. Upon walking in, we had to seat ourselves. Came here for a Sunday lunch and the restaurant was not busy(it got busier later on — we were here for over 1.5 hours — yeah, the service was that slow). We ordered the Seafood Empanada(not my choice — usually if I’m going to order an empanada, it would be at a Spanish restaurant) and the Bön Bo Hue dish. The Seafood Empanada was not good at all. It should be called a cream cheese empanada instead. There was some crabmeat, shrimp and maybe some scallop? I’m not even sure to be honest but all I know was it left a strange aftertaste. When the Bön Bo Hue dish came, there was barely any meat and it was spicy! I know Bön Bo Hue is supposed to be a bit spicy(I eat it all the time), but I don’t think I ever had it this spicy ever. I actually didn’t even finish my bowl because as I was eating it, I found a fly! Freaking disgusting. Makes me wonder about the cleanliness of this restaurant because there were some flies flying around my table even before I got my food. Totally lost my appetite. I definitely prefer Saigon Phở over Phở Thanh Huong any day. I’m not a huge fan of Saigon Phở either(I only go there when friends want to go because I already get amazing homemade Vietnamese food at home, sorry to brag but it’s the truth lol). However, I prefer Saigon Phở because the service is better, it’s cleaner and the ambiance is nicer(restaurant itself is bigger too). Service was just absolutely horrible here and not attentive at all. It really shouldn’t take over 1.5 hours to serve two menu items(especially at a Vietnamese restaurant. you already got your broth for the day ready in huge pots, what are you waiting for?!) and then have to wait a lifetime for the check. I won’t come back. The closest I’ll be to this restaurant again is at the Korean Tofu place next door.

Phở Thanh Huong, holy cow am I impressed! A SPRINGROLL inside a SUMMERROLL? It shouldn’t be called the«Best of Both Worlds» roll. It should be called«Crack» roll, It’s genius! Especially with the side of crushed peanuts? For those in the area, this place is one not to miss. My little heart belongs to another Vietnamese spot near my home, but I swear this place might just have second guessing. What I love about Phở Thanh Huong is that it’s your little Vietnamese restaurant with a HUGE menu. The Banh Mi sandwiches are here, top grade Phở is here, rainbow ice is here, and the best part of it all is their menu is the creativity. There was so much to choose from that I have yet to see at any them at other Vietnamese restaurants in New Jersey. SERVICE: 4.0 CREATIVITY: 4.75 VALUE: 4.5 FOOD: 4.0 I was really surprised to have enjoyed everything I had here, and can’t wait to return to see if they really hold ranking at the top of my Vietnamese cuisine list. My only negative feed back is the lack of traditional dessert items. How about some Che Chuoi?
