Took a group of girls for a birthday. Service was ok. Food was good but our hibachi chef(young guy) was surly and not much fun. Other tables seemed to be having a better time with their chefs. It’s supposed to be one if the highlights of the meal experience. Fell flat.

Came here with my wife. She had the hibachi shrimp and I had the butterfly and spider roll. The prices Warfare for the area and the sushi was a good quality. I was happy with my two rolls but my wife said that the shrimp could have been cooked a little better and the noodles were not too flavorful. All in all it was a good experience. Not a hundred percent sure if I would return but was happy to have visited this location.

Here’s the deal… last minute dinner plan decision causes massive wait on a Saturday night! Which I wouldn’t mind if the manager said«it’s going to be 30 – 45 minutes». what is said was«give me 5 minutes». which turned into another 5 and another. There were people who had reservations and they were sitting for an hour waiting for their table. That said, it was standard hibachi, our chef was very boring didn’t say anything or interact with the table, i mean that’s part of the experience. So I guess, I’ll say… it seems busy, so I guess they’re doing something right… but I’m not yearning to come back any time soon

Hands down the WORST hibachi I’ve ever had. The food is over priced garbage. My food was extremely dry, the vegetables are hard … The place is just extremely disappointing . If I’m going to pay $$$ for hibachi, I would like to receive hibachi that’s edible and worth it . Also the place is the«front yard» of a red roof inn … Gag

My family celebrated a birthday here which consisted of 12 people. The atmosphere was great. In addition, they were able to facilitate a larger party up to 24 people perfectly. Our party wasn’t broken up sitting in different tables. The owners(husband/wife) each made their way to our table to check on how things were going and wishing the birthday girl a happy birthday. The whole team was extremely sweet when the time came to sing happy birthday and cut the cake(I purchased in advance). Very clean place. Highly recommend! Thank you Sakura for a nice family memory.

Sakura has great service, as well as food. I’ve found that the portions here are a tad bit smaller than I’ve seen at other hibachi restaraunts, but it’s not a deal breaker by any means. I’ll definitely keep coming back, Sakura has bumped Kyoto and is now my number 1 for hibachi!

My rating is actually 3.5 stars and a little torn about it. If the reason you to a restaurant is good food then this place did fine. If you go to Hibachi for good food and a show them this place falls short. FOOD: I had the filet Hibachi and it was very tasty meat tender. Bang bang shrimp appetizer was very good sweet and sour ish and sushi was good I liked the tempura shrimp. ATMOSPHERE: Some say it’s dated and yes it’s not trendy modern but it is fine and heck it’s not like Asia isn’t an ancient culture so I found the place casual but nice & clean. THESHOW: There was none. The chief was nice and did the little onion volcano trick and… that was it. He then basically cooked in front of us. No flashy knife work, no flipping food to us like we were seals in a zoo, no tricks with flying rice and no he did not have the little doll that pee’d on your food. SERVICE: I went on a slow night(Wednesday) and the service was very good. Bar service fast and waitress at the ready but again it was a slow night can’t vouch for a weekend. SUMMARY: If you just want some nice Hibachi food and no fanfare you will like this place but if you want some flare you will be left wanting more. Nice place for a meal but not for the party.

**Non-Hibachi, regular seating review** Went with my family for a Sunday lunch. We were more than adventurous to try a place we haven’t tried around the hometown. I see this restaurant on my way home from food shopping at ShopRite to my left(46 Eastbound) all the time and thought I’d give it a try.(I figured a Unilocal avg. review of 3.5 stars wasn’t going to blow me away but still be a decent choice) This place is really known for Hibachi as name suggested, but inside you will also see a few bar seats as well as regular seats like other similar Hibachi restaurants. My family is usually 5 but my sister decided to stay home, so we were in a group of 4 for a regular table. Out of hunger we ordered a Bang Bang Shrimp(4 pcs.) as an appetizer and ordered Shrimp, Scallop, and Salmon Bento Boxes with Naruto, Mexican, and Charlie rolls. I had a scallop but tried pieces of Shrimp and Salmon from their respective Bento boxes– Shrimp was the best followed by scallop. Salmon was o-k. Fried rice(optional between White rice vs. Fried rice) and Lomein that came with Bento box were just medicore. On the other hand, Tempura(bunch of things fried, such as Sweet potato, Broccoli, Onion, and Shrimp) and dip sauce were pretty good. Waitress was very attentive as well. And although working from a Hibachi restaurant a long time ago set me up with a particular expectation from a Hibachi place, I would need to go back here with a small party to see how it compares to other Hibachi spots near me as this place was nothing short of where I used to work. 3 stars for now, but will update again after I check out their Hibachi selections.

Used to come here all the time for sushi. I’ve had hibachi once and wasn’t impressed. Could’ve been that one time or maybe they’ve changed but I really think the lo mein was spaghetti… The owners are really nice though and helpful. The sushi is pretty good but not roller well. It would frequently fall apart. Also some rolls were way too big and couldn’t even fit in my mouth. Their fried rice is pretty good. The ginger salad(a favorite of mine) is like all others(good). The prices aren’t bad, except the special rolls. Hibachi decently priced. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sushi usually doesn’t take long. Went to hibachi again few months ago, but I only got sushi. The people with me weren’t all that impressed. Though the did like the noodles and rice. Overall, good place. Sushi is good and hibachi is all right.

This is our go-to hibachi restaurant. Don’t come here if you are concerned about your salt and fat intake! As with all typical hibachi restaurants, they use lots of salt, butter, sauce and oil. That being said, once in a while, it is enjoyable and obviously tasty. We normally get the shrimp or chicken hibachi meal. No complaints!

Had the chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner. Came with 3 shrimp. Lots of chicken and noodles and rice. But no shrimp appetizer and not much of a show. I’ve been to hibachis better than this. As for being worth it, I guess so… but the little extras don’t add up to much on the bottom line for the restaurant. They should really enjoy cooking more. The food quality was good and it tasted good too. So I can’t take anything away from that. Just a bit disappointed in not getting the extras you get somewhere else.

I had a reservation. Waited 25 minuets to be seated. Waited 35 minuets for a drink. Hibachi Chef was not friendly. Looked miserable to be at his job and gave a poor performance… Part of the cost of a hibachi meal is for the show… This show was awful. The noodles and fried rice were burnt and had a crunchy texture… Just awful… If I wasn’t starving by the time the food was actually prepared. I wouldn’t had ate it. My girlfriend barely touched her food and I had a 3 year old telling me his noodles are too hard to eat. The lobster did not have the shell properly removed as I kept pulling pieces of shell out of my mouth. When explaining our disappointment to the management, the owner… Who I’m learning is named Jimmy decided to call me «brother» and explain how his staff are hard working people and started making a huge situation in front of a packed restaurant. I have never been so disrespected in my life. He explained how he knows my type and they can afford to give me a free meal and that I need to get out of his restaurant. Not the way you treat any customer. I gave them $ 140.00 cash because I would never skip out on a bill. My girlfriend thought they deserved nothing. I didn’t ever want a discount on the bill. The situation could have been solved by a simple apology. In my humble opinion it seems that the restaurant is under staffed. Which leads me to believe that the owner is more worried about his bottom line than the quality of an experience at his restaurant. Instead of a nice night out, the owner created a horrible situation. You never address an upset customer and call them brother. That’s rude and disrespectful. You never tell a customer who is upset that the restaurant’s staff is hard working. That doesn’t solve why we were upset. You never say I know your type of people… Which can easily be taken as an insult. Not sure if that’s where he was going, but it wouldn’t surprise me with the level of disrespect he was showing me. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs. I’ve been to this place over a dozen times over the years and will now never return

Ok, I am a HUGE fan of Japanese food. There are a few issues I have with this place. First, when you enter the restaurant, it reeks of an odor very similar to cat urine. I’m not sure if it is some type of wood varnish or it really is car urine, but it reeks. Second, when someone joins the table with the grill, a gong is sounded to let the chefs know someone is joint the fun. A chef that was making food for half of the table turned around at the sound of the gong and rolled his eyes and made a disgusting face when he saw more people coming over to be seated. Third, the white sauce(a mayo based sauce that is sometimes referred to as seafood sauce) was what I was waiting for the entire meal. When it came time for them to give it to us, I was SO excited. Much to my disgust, the white sauce was CHUNKY and not a smooth sauce like is standard. It had a very pungent flavor of something that had soured and ginger(which I never knew was a component of the sauce). ABSOLUTELYRUINEDTHISTRIPFORME!!! Lastly, the margarita was very weak and didn’t taste much like a margarita at all. What was good? Well, I had the hibachi chicken with fried rice and vegetables. It was cooked well and was very tasty. I noticed that the chef really over cooked the scallops that my friend ordered. But, my chicken was delicious. We were seated VERY quickly, which was great for a starving Unilocaler. At the end of the day, I do not plan on coming back to this establishment! I was honestly shocked to see good reviews after my experience. I guess some people just cannot smell or taste!

Ok so the hibachi was good! I preferred the prep of the sushi better, but in all this spot was good. We decided to stop in last night as we felt for a little chef cooking performance! Chef Martin aka Razor Ramon did a fantastic performance!!! He gets 5 stars… We ordered the sushi for two and hibachi filet mignon with salmon veggies and noodles. The flavor was ok, but we’ve had better hibachi. If we’re in the area we may stop by again, but it’s depending on timing and our other food options. I will say they are well suited for large groups and have plenty of parking. Enjoy folks

Really enjoyed my dinner at Sakura! It has a nice interior with an average tradition Japanese feel and a nice staff. For my meal I had the steamed shrimp shumai appetizer and at the hibachi table I had the scallops. The scallops were cooked very well and the shumai were perfect. It was served with vegetables and noodles and while both were very well done I felt like there could’ve been more of a variety of vegetables offered, but still tasty! They also serve bubble tea which was pleasantly surprising as I’m a huge fan and it was refreshing with my meal. Great place I will be going back.

Despite my worries beforehand, you CAN eat gluten free and be safe here! Just talk to the hostess when you’re being seated and let them know of your allergies. They’ll prepare you food in the back so there’s no risk of cross-contamination on the flattop. Remind your waiter/waitress of your allergies and your’e all good! If you like, bring your own GF soy sauce(tamari or coconut aminos) and they’ll cook with it for you in the back! No, you don’t get to eat the miso soup or salad with the delicious ginger dressing. But you can still enjoy the cooking show with your dining companions and not feel left out of the experience at these kinds of restaurants! I got the salmon and shrimp combo, which came with sauteed zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. Brought my own sauce(coconut aminos) and it was all delicious.
