It seems as though my review is a little late because it is now showing up as CLOSED ??? Great Smokey burgers cooked how you like it. Had a good experience there it’s too bad they are closed. Tons of TV’s everywhere showing various sporting events. Kewl place to get a nice burger and chill.

Had a regular hamburger and forgot to tell them to cook it, so I got a bloody burger and I only ate a few bites. Oh well. Undercooked meat can keep you on the toilet for some time. I grew up thinking all hamburger should be cooked through., maybe the cook likes it half cooked or enjoys the toilet… not me. Anyway, good service as always and the only place in town that knows meat should be cooked over wood. Even the best steakhouses in Pasadena don’t use wood for their $$$ steaks.

Oh no… I didn’t have a Groupon and paid full price for my food here! LOL. We came here for the sake of watching a NBA Playoff game without getting indirectly kicked out if we stayed too long at places. These guys here are cool, unlike other locations that might be a little more busy, indirectly kicks you out by bringing over the check. Boy, I find that rude. Anyhow, I enjoyed my burger combination meal here at Big Dadd’s. You basically walk up to the counter and order your food, and they’ll give you a number so it can be served to you when it is ready. I ordered the 1⁄3 pound Turkey Burger Combo with french fries, and a regular drink which was bottomless. The burger was good and I enjoyed it. It was a large patty served with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and I asked for grilled onions. It was tasty and cooked to perfection. The fries were fresh and crisp. I only wish each french fry was cut larger. And my drink was bottomless at a self service fountain. The eatery wasn’t as big like I thought it would be, but I had a great time watching the Clippers basketball game on their large television screen. They had at least six TVs inside which I thought was great! They showed ESPN sports highlights, Angels baseball, and basketball. The cost of the burger combos was a bit steep. But, it’s okay because we were able to watch TV with friends without distractions from management. Big Daddy’s was not crowded at all as the evening passed. Yes, there was a few others inside eating and also enjoying the games. It’s all good. I like this place, and will come back again to enjoy another burger. Just don’t expect anything there to be gourmet, or else you’re at the wrong place.

I come here pretty regularly and do like the place… wishin I could give 3.5 stars. Wings are OK. I’ve had better garlic fries and burgers. But it seems that they regularly screw up my order… Today I ordered an Andouille they gave me a brat… I’ve ordered hot wings but they bring me teriyaki… I’ve ordered the small burger but they brought me the big burger… I’ll admit the food is tasty but it’s annoying to no end that they screw up the order practically EVERYTIME!!! The Bratwurst was delicious, but still really wanted an Andouille!!! Chili is the right blend of SoCal style chili amd real chili… tastes fresh with just the right amount of artery clogging deliciousness. BTW Big Daddy’s is #4 in my Top 5 burger joints in Pasadena(Dog Haus, Slater’s and Jake’s 1 – 3 respectively).

Came here mid 2013, I’m pretty sure I came on a bad day but the burger wasn’t that great. BUTTTT weirdly the hot wings were reallyyyyy good! Great sports burger place — lots of new BIG TVs, sports being played all around. Parking: In small lot but you can find something. Order at the counter, wait at your table with your number and they’ll deliver. Grab your own drink too. Came with a friend that enjoyed their burger so much he referred us there. Sadly, we probably came on a bad day because even he was disappointed in the burger. Next time! Probably game night! PS Theres also Happy Hour! 3pm — 7pm everyday(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday!!!) includes: Daddy Bock($ 2.50 pint) & Daddy Light($ 9.95 pitcher) Late Night Happy Hour(Friday & Saturday Nights 10pm — 12am Midnight): Regular happy hour beer and wine plus 25% off any food items.

Finally!!! A place that is price friendly, clean, full of happy hour, good food, and large TVs for our football Sundays! Yay! This place exceeded our expectations. They have a great happy hour for beers during a lot of games and everyday from 3−7pm. The food is ridculously cheap for the area and the TVs are all gigantic! No matter where we sat, we got an amazing view of all the games we wanted to watch. I got a Blue Moon for 3.50 and my hubs got the Bid Daddy’s light for 2.50. The pitchers are even a much better deal. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone. Singles, married, kids, seniors… come for a satisfying chill time. My life is complete now. :)

To me a good burger isn’t just about the meat, it’s also about the buns and toppings. I got the Lamb burger, first time for me. It didn’t wowed me. Perhaps I should of just stick with a regular burger. I didn’t like the buns and the shredded lettuce with the burger. The buns was not tasty. I felt like I was eating a burger in a french roll type bun with cold shredded lettuce.(I like my lettuce leafy and green) The sides of the garlic fries was really good though and they sure gave plenty, enough for sharing. Sweet Potato fries were pretty good as well. They serve beer on tap. Blue moon and even Stella Rose! A lot of wide screen TVs all over the dinning room.

I haven’t had a bad burger from this place and I’ve tried them all with the exception of the«Mushroom Burger» allergic to shrooms and the«Veggie Burger» Cuz really why bother! this trip I had the Daddy Burger and Wings. Big Daddy Burger w/Fries — 100% Angus Chuck Infused with Crushed Fresh Garlic, Onions, Basil, Italian Parsley, Egg, Bread Crumbs, Black Pepper, and our Top-Secret Ingredient. topped with Dill Pickles, Grilled Onions, Lettuce, Dijon-Mayo Aioli Dressing and *added Gorgonzola Cheese. The meat is FRESH and well seasoned always serving up a great tasting burger 5-Stars Hot Wings(6) — Sweet Hot — Nice Size wing, Beautifully cooked with a nice(((crunch))) to the outside NOT some rubbery skin wing like many served, I only ordered six pieces so just tried one flavor«Sweet Hot» which was more sweet than any heat, I’d give the wing 5-Stars and the sauce 4-Stars but overall I give it 3-Stars, Yeah I know it averages out to 4.5-Stars so what gives?(6) Wings for $ 8.95 = $ 1.50 per Wing! a bit too pricy IMO. 3-Stars French Fries — Always golden with a nice crunch to the outside, some of the best fries around… they even have garlic fries that are very garlicky and good! I also prefer this location over the other due to More Parking and Larger Seating area.

Came here to meet some cool Unilocaler Elite’s who were kind enough to let a peasant like me to join them :-) Purchased a groupon deal. Place is in a strip mall conveniently located on California right near the 210. No trouble finding parking unlike most places near Old Town. Place was pretty dead. Got there at 7:30 on a Wednesday. Proceeded to order their signature burger with sweet potato fries and a small drink. Sat down and within 5 minutes food was served. Burger was ok and fries were pretty good. Nothing to write home about. But for the price I think it’s certainly better than any fast food place and there are a good number of Tv’s to catch whatever sporting event you’re into. I would come again.

I guess they will have to keep selling Groupon… lamb burger(1⁄3 lb) $ 10.75 + $ 3.75(classic fries w/soda) the lamb seasoned well but they didn’t even ask how you would like your burger to be cooked??? It came as well-done. the bun is just ordinary bun. fries…HUGE basket of fries, 3X size of Large McDonald fries. I doubt anyone can eat that much fries. Plus it’s kind bland, I usually can eat my fries plain but not this one. I normally like sweet potato fries but somehow their sweet potato fries was missing something. The garlic fries seem to be the best among all. HUGETV !!! even blind as me can see clearly the fighters’ age/height on the screen from 25 feet away. That’s really amazing!!! It’s definitely a good place to watch a game, but If not for the Groupon($ 6 for $ 12) I would say the food is overpriced. Don’t bring a date, I don’t think he can keep his eyes on you: P

Have you watched burger commercials on TV that make you salivate and you think to yourself, «damn, I’d really like that burger». Then reality sets in when you order your double bacon cheeseburger and it comes out looking like refried beans. At BD’s, they serve burgers that look and TASTE as good as the ones on TV(not that they have TV commercials, but if they did…). We ordered their Big Daddy burger(classic with bacon + garlic aioli spread) and it was divino! Possibly, *gasp*, better than In N Out! It is. The lightly toasted bun is fluffy and just the right amount. The beef is so melt in your mouth delicious and everything is in tantalizing proportion, it’s ridiculous. Also on the order … sweet potato fries, my favorite thing! Man, they serve some delicious fresh fries… nom nom. I had the audacity to order their filet migon steak salad. It was, of course, delicious. Tender meat, fresh veggies SUPERGENEROUS portions … about $ 11. Although, it was yummy, there is something vaguely unsatisfying about ordering a salad at a burger place. Probably because the person sitting across taunting me was with that monster of a burger. meh! Next time, BURGERSONLY! OHOH! They even have a wine + beer pairing menu with their burgers! :) Love that draft beer! Plus, there’s a beer sampler and tons of ridiculously large TVs. By ridiculous, I mean, TVs must be larger than I am.

Grouponed a free beer with a 6 for 12 deal. Stone IPA on tap was nice. Served in a plastic cup? I’m not a sipper so it didn’t get warm on me. Sat outside. Great outdoor, covered seating area with lots of TVs. She got the portobello burger. Nice bun and spread. I got the daddy burger with cheese. Asked for medium rare and she replied so quickly with an OK I thought it was a common practice. Upon burgers arrival, it was a well done patty that looked premade. Such a let down. I was hoping for pink heaven and got brown blah. The trio of fried foods was hit and miss. Garlic fries, soggy. Sweet potatoes, perfect. Onion rings, well done. It was like a chew toy. Enjoyed our evening out but was hoping for so much more.

I visited Big Daddy’s when it first opened back in November of 2012. I tried their big daddy burger and felt that it was decent but not worth the $ 7.50(burger alone, no fries or drink) price tag for the size and quality of the burger. The big daddy burger patty was reminiscent of meatloaf with all the different ingredients that are infused in the beef. My co-worker ordered the bratwurst with spicy peppers and commented that they were actually too sweet with little to no spice at all. Maybe I just came on a bad day or maybe they were still in the process of working out their kinks? At the time, I decided it wasn’t for me and perhaps I’d come again once they became more acclimated. I work only a few blocks away and wasn’t ready to give up on it yet. Fast forward 8 months later… I really don’t know if I’m eating the same food as my fellow Unilocalers because the disparity between our experiences are night and day. This time around, I came back because of a Groupon deal that I had found. $ 6 for $ 12 worth of food? Sure, I’ll give it another chance. I ordered the turkey burger and it was extremely bland. I had to douse my burger in mustard and ketchup just to give it a little more flavor. The turkey patty also tasted like it was defrosted straight out of the freezer due to the texture and dryness of it. Ordered garlic fries and it was way too oily. Every french fry that I ate resulted in my finger being covered in oil. Even the paper covering the fries was drenched in oil(paper was almost transparent on the bottom btw). I work literally two blocks away and it’s a shame that this once promising restaurant has been so disappointing. Tip: The bright spot is that they have HUGE tvs playing sports all over the restaurant. Also open until midnight daily.

My wife is a huge burger connoisseur and we finally got around to trying Big Daddy’s Fire Grill. We weren’t disappointed! The fire grill really gives the burgers a unique and delicious flavor, smoky and savory. I tried the Turkey Burger and Chili Cheese Fries and my wife tried the Daddy Burger and Garlic Fries. The burgers were above and beyond the average burger and the garlic fries were well flavored and nice and crispy, but I would say the Chili Cheese Fries were just average. The restaurant was clean with many large screen TVs and a small selection of imported and specialty beer(perfect for watching sports), good service, ample parking, and very reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

A co-worker of mine and I were talking about Big Daddy’s Fire Grill, then I saw Mr. Joe M. check in, so I knew it was a sign that I needed to drive down to Pasadena and try this place out. Big Daddy’s is located inside a shopping center next to a Vons(if I’m not mistaken). Parking isn’t really an issue, because of the large shopping center, but my fiancé and I walked over from Colorado Blvd, Old Town Pasadena(only about a 15 minute trek). Upon entering, we were definitely distracted by the massive amount of televisions, to the point of watching the basketball game for a few minutes before going to order. The people behind the register were friendly and patient with us while we decided what we were going to order. We both ended up getting the Daddy Burger with garlic fries and onion rings. When receiving our food, we noticed that the burgers didn’t have cheese on it. We both missed that we had to ask for cheese on the burgers(d’oh!), but they kindly gave us cheese on the side for free(+1). The burgers were amazing. The patty was full of flavor, and the vegetables were fresh. The onion rings were crispy and equally as delicious. The only disappointment were the garlic fries, which came out cold, but was immediately fixed by gentleman behind the counter. He apologized, and traded it out for hot fries. Our experience here was definitely above average from the food to the service. We will definitely be returning. P. S. I am now coaxing my fiancé to purchase a 90 inch flat screen. Thanks a lot, Big Daddy’s!

Mer, mer mer. Something about the name had me hoping for brisket and other delicious fired meats. Turns out Big Daddy’s is more of a burger/sandwich joint than BBQ. Our order: Cheeseburger, Bacon wrapped hot dog with onions and sweet peppers and chili cheese fries, a soda and a bud light. Burger — must say — fairly standard. Nothing that was spectacular or made it a stand out. Bacon wrapped hot dog — A nice upscale version of LA’s most beloved and classic street dog. The dog itself was large, the toppings generous and the bacon had a perfect crisp. Know what was missing? Mayo. Kinda part of it. Chili Cheese fries — Chili had just a little too much going on to work outside of a bowl. It was fine, just fine. All in all the staff was friendly, the food was good and fresh to order. We just didn’t leave wow’d and voted the hot dog above the burger. Large TV’s — great for game watching. Seems family friendly — yet no changing tables in the bathrooms. There is plenty of room in the ladies room for that! :) Conveniently located across from Huntington Memorial. Nothing to hate, this Unilocaler just didn’t fall in love.

BIGDADDYROCKS !!! I when back here few time, and I can tell you food is better than before. Dinner is more crowded than lunch. This place is amazing for watching sport. 7 giant TV. I think 290″? Also they have speaker installed, this place truly sport and definite in the High Tech Side. Pro: + Free parking located in a plaza. + TV !(7 of them) 2 of them are 80 inch or bigger. Rest could be 60″ All are Sharp. + Showing ESPN in HD, unlike some place using big tv but showing non hd content. + Large selection of food included beers. + Wood fired grill at burger and sandwich. + Has Lamb burger and salmon sandwich. + Great sauce comes with the fries. + Serve Alcohol(Draft beer not the bottle or cans one) the real deal. + it used oak-wood grill for any meats. + Awesome customer service + Show just about sport events(Lakers, UCLA, Barcelona etc.) + Excellent customer service from the cashier to the waiter. Cons: — A bit small will be easily feel overcrowded during peek dinner when major game is on. — Fried Onion and sweet potato is mediocre had room for improvement. Food: A–(Large selection of foods, too many to counts, and ice cold beer, Onion ring and the sweet potato is a bit mediocre but rest is very good) Service: A+(Just about the most friendly service you can encounter in this type of restaurant, waiter would constant check up with you whether you need anything and will clean up and pick it without need to ask them) Atmosphere: A+(So many giant TV show just any Sport from NBA to European Soccer Match) Cover just about any Sport nuts out there, clean place even the restroom. Value: A(Consider this pricey area, they keep the price very reasonable and low for like fries, you get your money worth here) The price on the site isn’t the same as the one in the restaurant, they probably would updated it soon. Overall an A rating ! Conclusion: If you never been here before, better come before it get too popular and longer line. This place as good as it can get. Parking is also quite easy even in peak dinner time. Not many restaurant when you had FSAP that get high mark. They even got FREEWIFI too and out door seating too ! I see many people telling the staff and manager how awesome or great this place it is, wish it is ! They encourage to tell you friend if you love their food, after all this is still local business they need more local support. If you not satisfied with the food let them know, this place is constant hearing feedback and improve everywhere they can, thanks the GM for offer kind offer so I when back.

A burger joint with maximum real estate dedicated to brain-melting tv screens, a decent selection of malty alcoholic beverages, and a helpful staff serves an average burger but misses gastropub territory due to problems with follow through and some of the finer details. A decent place to ‘catch a game’ and grab a beer, all without leaving the comfort of a strip mall. In the end though, still has the feel of a place you’d find in a strip mall. Pricing is on par with places in the neighborhood, except these places have a nicer feel and cook a better burger. Some other notes! The fries were a huge letdown — especially considering how good the onion rings looked. The fries are the sort that come straight out of a bag. Let. Down. The garlic aioli is good. Why? Because garlic aioli is delicious, fact. The only thing that made the french fries manageable. The 10 I ate out of the 400 I received. The staff here is the high point. The cashier was helpful, charming, and made sure the order was absolute right and then she brought the food to the table and occasionally checked in with me and the other patrons to make sure we had everything. +1

Ok, came back to try the Lamb Burger by itself unfettered by the addition of any cheese ; unfortunately, it was a little on the dry side. I’ve used ground lamb before in a meatball recipe but that was in conjunction with some relatively fatty ground beef(no leaner than 80⁄20) mixed in and I thought that tasted awesome. There is some distinctiveness in the flavor of meat but I stop short of calling it gamey. I probably won’t repeat… Mrs. L. had the bratwurst with roasted red peppers and caramelized onions . She said that the sausage meat by itself was also dry tasting and needed the peppers and onions… Each of our orders came with Pesto Aioli as a condiment, it added extra creamy flavor and texture to each of our sandwiches, which helped in the case of the lamb and the bratwurst… My son had the Mushroom Madness as I have on a previous visit with Swiss cheese. He enjoyed it and I suspect that sticking with the beef burgers is a safer bet. Still a neat place to congregate, still need to try the steak sandwich…

I still lament the departure of Fuddruckers from the Pasadena area, but Big Daddy’s grill sure does ease the pain. Great food in a beautifully renovated space & it’s not even that expensive! Mrs. C wasn’t feeling like a burger, so she got the pork loin sandwich. I got the Daddy burger & we split the trio of onion rings + sweet potato fries + regular fries. Food only took a few minutes & came out looking like this The burger was REALLY good. The things that I look for in a burger are a toasted bun, hot patty & cold lettuce/tomato/pickle. This burger had all of those elements. Someone in the kitchen is clearly paying attention. Mrs. C’s sandwich was good, but I think there’s a part of her that wished she had gotten the burger after taking a bite of mine! The TVs in the restaurant are very large & they are probably going to get tons of business when there are Lakers games. There were no signs of new restaurant jitters and the place was so clean — people were wiping the tables, sweeping floors. If there’s one thing that I wasn’t crazy about, it was how the utensils & napkins are right next to the cash register, forcing you to cut in front of people who are trying to order, when all you really want is a fork. Hopefully they will re-locate this little station. It’s a minor point, however. Can’t wait to come back!
