Steph, Rebecca, Heather, Chris and Dan really look after you here. Great team. The lighting is subtle, the chairs comfortable to relax in. I’ve spent many an evening here and I keep going back.

So futuristic that I half expected to see George and Jane Jetson sipping on a space colored blue beverage(which is a signature cocktail here) hence the aptly named venue. I have the exciting task of organizing a monthly happy hour for my colleagues and this was by far my favorite since we started a few months ago. The service was impeccable, and I wish I had noted the name of the male server that was so attentive. While waiting for everyone to show up, he brought me complimentary spicy snacks and ice water. The happy hour menu offered many affordable and scrumptious options, and I can vouch that everyone raved about their selections. We shared: Gourmet Olives & Almonds $ 4 Oysters on Half Shell $ 1.50 each Vegetable Spring Rolls, miso sauce $ 6.50 And Duck Pot Stickers, orange soy sauce $ 7 One of us did indulge in the aforementioned blue cocktail named the blublossom(made with magellan gin & elder lower). I thoroughly enjoyed sipping on their bubbly special sparkling blanc de bleu!

Nice ambiance, very good service but expensive. Came here after looking for check in deals and thought wow, 15% if you spend $ 15, neat! But when we went to be rung up it was really only 15% off of food. I posted the checkin here and you can see that that fact was not mentioned in the details of the checkin. The shrimp cocktail was $ 8 for 4 pieces, so $ 2 a piece which I think is standard to a little pricey. It was good though, with Thai sweet chili sauce and cocktail sauce. Got the Pinot noir which was only okay, but the Merlot was not my cup of tea so a waste of $ 12 there :(Husband got beer but bottled Hefeweizen at $ 9 a bottle is a bit pricey in my book. All and all, probably a good deal during happy hour but not going to be one of my go to spots.

Located in the dusit Hotel, this little store is a gem! Fancy cocktails, stiff pours, and a fabulous bartender, makes for a nice lounge experience. Small plates include rolls, mac ‘n cheese, and sliders. The ambiance is very 310 groovy with blueRoom mood lighting. If I lived in Pasadena, this would be my regular stop.

I enjoy the ambience and the location for meeting friends after work. The serving staff is attentive and can carry-on a pleasant conversation. Drinks are made with precision and appetizers are very tasteful. Their sliders are moist and and flavorful. The duck pot stickers are a nice addition to the menu. My friends have challenged the bartenders to surprise them with something different. They have always been pleased. The atmosphere is different from other places in Pasadena… That’s a good thing. Crowd size depends on the day and occupancy of hotel. I find that it is nice to meet guests from other places outside of the local area that are staying at the hotel. Great for a change of pace. Look forward to a full kitchen as the development grows.

Came in a couple of weekends ago with my parents and enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks. The lounge is right as you walk into the lobby. We came on a Saturday night and they have happy hour from 4−7pm everyday! We got sliders, cheese plate, and olives. The sliders had cheese, caramelized onions, and a little bit of lettuce on a medium patty. There were 3 types of cheese and nuts/dried fruits. Nice variety of cheese. Can’t say anything about the olives, since I don’t like olives. Most of the happy hour food items were $ 6.26, which LA people get why that’s cute. I can’t remember what the name of my drink was(not helpful I know), but it had vodka and basil in it and it was excellent! My father had a whiskey cocktail which was also good. The service was good, but a little slow.

Went here for happy hour a few months back. Food was good with very good prices and variety. I liked the décor – someone mentioned Miami vibe and I could see that. If this was at the beach, it would be a hit. I really liked the blue sparkling wine. Wasn’t a fan of the other prossecco and they were kind enough to exchange it. Staff was nice but my main waitress was struggling. I think everyone is new here so it’s forgiven. Valet or street parking. I wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Interesting place… but a bit odd. I have visited here 3 times and now feel I know it well enough to do a review. First the good: interesting lounge vibe, subdued lighting, modern furniture, good music(not too loud, not too quiet), happy hour before 7pm during the week; interesting house cocktails; good choices for food apps during happy hour — flatbread with brie and balsamic vinegar is especially tasty. And the service, when it’s available(more on that in a second) has been consistently friendly. Now the not so good and/or strange aspects of the place. It always(in my random 3 times there, anyhow) appears the bartender and the waitstaff(usually just one person) are usually«roaming». By that I mean it is as if they have some other duties to do elsewhere and will just randomly leave the bar alone(luckily the patrons are honest professional types!) and«wonder off». This happens with the bartenders there to a lesser degree, but happens with the waiter(when there is one — sometimes the bartender does double duty getting out from behind the bar and taking orders from the lounge/restaurant area). When the bartender plays the dual role, then the bartender, too, tends to «wonder away» more often. When they wonder away, they are gone for 5, 10 or even 15 minutes. During that«break» people at the bar and lounge are left with empty glasses. Not good for business! I heard a few people at the bar remark«I’m thirsty» when the bartender returned after an almost 15 minute break. Also, when ordering the food, it seems like the kitchen is very far away — there are lengthy waits for food even on non-busy nights. Also, for the lounge customers, the service isn’t very attentive. Drinks aren’t refilled or offered and I felt a bit ignored. Luckily the food is tasty and presentation is very good as well. But this place would benefit from having more«permanent» bartenders and waiters and an increase in attentiveness. It’s a good place but I don’t think it yet reaches it’s potential.

Great experience! Steph made my group and I feel very welcome. Clean room, friendly staff and décor was exemplary of high class motif. I couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and will recommend to all of my colleagues.

This bar and staff were the best part of my stay! Josue and Steph were amazing! I drank too much and ordered just about everything on the menu and I’m glad I did I love a bar with real bartenders who have liquor knowledge and can mix a mean cocktail… as a bartender/foodie I was impressed all around. «Gin-ing is winning»

Let’s start with the good news: friendly, fantastic bartender. Four star, stellar service. Now the not so-good news, and let me be frank, since from the looks of things, the management reads Unilocal reviews: Your happy hour is not happy. Not at all. Take a good look around at your competition. Across the street Roy’s is offering $ 5 drinks. Mi Piace’s and Kings Row in Old Town, $ 5. Blind Donkey? $ 4. Dog Haus? $ 4. Edwin Mills? $ 3. Yeah: three dollars. As in for a martini. And now you think $ 6.26 for a tiny glass of prosecco is going to compete? MAYBE if I were staying in your hotel, but my hunch is you’re trying to attract a local crowd, which is probably why you came up with the whole 626 concept. Oh yeah, $ 6.26 drinks until 6.26pm! Aren’t we clever? No. It’s not clever: it’s lame. Totally lame. You want locals? Then look around the local scene, take a deep breath of reality, and lower your prices because otherwise you’re looking at an empty bar, which is exactly what your bar was yesterday from 4 – 6:26pm, and probably what it will be every day of the week. Don’t waste an otherwise perfect space and a really great bartender on empty barstools.

This place is nice and cute. Totally gives off the loungy feel. Make sure to make it before 6:26 for their happy hour. I found drinks to be pricy later on in the night. Service was not bad.

Love that this place keeps reporting my reviews to Unilocal to get them removed on whatever grounds possible. Classy. Anyway, here it is(again, since it’s a completely legit review)… What the hell is up with this name? It’s trying WAY too hard. And if you’re a bro like me who grew up with video games, the hotel name reminds you of a certain, popular CounterStrike map. You know which one. Anyway, this review is for the bar downstairs, which we hit up during happy hour. Talk about TACKY! I was really hoping that it wouldn’t feel so hotel-bar-ish, but it was about the epitomic realization of «a cheesy hotel bar». The ridiculous LED wave lighting on the ceilings, the shimmery, Miami-drug-dealer’s-house blue mirror walls. It was just weird. It seems like they were trying to create a hip lounge vibe, but with a giant, wall-to-wall view of Mako Bowl as the only thing to look at, it’s simply not going to happen here. That said, the service was excellent. But even that turned out to be a bad thing for me. It’s like they’re going out of their way to be extra polite and servile. It would work if I was on a balcony overlooking all of Pasadena. But when I’m just trying to enjoy a happy hour beer while staring at my colleagues’ not-so-interesting faces(or Mako Bowl, again), it just seems a bit pretentious.

My review is a little premature, will be doing a review for the Star News and for my radio show. Check back here, I plan to evaluate the wine by the glass program plus the cheese plates!

Stopped by last night for a drink after dinner. The pictures on the website were slightly deceiving. I expected something a little different. My major dislike was that we had a view of asian take out food, the dentist and mattress city. They should really tint the windows because the view of the outside distracts from the ambiance inside the bar. Drinks were decent but a little pricey, $ 14. Overall we had a good experience.

Miami comes to Pasadena! Do blaring blue LED lights and modern décor belong in the land of craftsmen design, bungalows, and traditional early 20th century design? You be the judge. d’bar is a relaxing spot east of Lake on a quiet Pasadena corner, quite a ways from the hubbub of Old Town. Their mixology-style cocktails are tasty and their cheese plate is generous. Their«626» happy hour is also a fun idea, though it ends rather early at 6:26pm. That said, their challenges are many. First is the name of both the bar and hotel — which is indecipherable from its«oh, there it is» sign. Next is the décor — sitting in the glow of visible blue LEDs wears on you pretty quickly(when using LEDs, the light source should always be obscured). Next is the menu. There was honestly nothing but a $ 13 Caprese or the $ 16 cheese plate that sounded palpable. Finally there’s the prices. I understand paying $ 14/drink in Miami or even at the grand old Langham where there’s an experience and entertainment to go along with your cocktail. But in the quiet part of Pasadena while glowing blue, I’d say that $ 8-$ 10/drink is what’s going to bring people back. The fact that there were only 8 people in the bar on a Friday night at 7:30pm — and not a soul in the lobby restaurant — confirms that the vision for the $ 60-million refurbishment of this historical building is severely misguided. Free advice to the operators: lose the blue lights(or at least hide them), or better yet, go for a more Pasadena feel congruent with the building’s architecture(woods, low amber lighting, sophistication). Add some eatable choices to the menu(sushi? fries? pizza?) and make the drink prices more reasonable — at least for locals. Also, host some fun events, tastings, etc. and consider a less cheeseball moniker. Instead of 8 people sitting bored in blue light while the bartender stands staring out at Colorado Blvd., you’ll have a crowd buying your food and drinks and cherishing your investment. Isn’t that the point?

What a cool little bar! Decorated something like The Jetsons, d’bar serves small plates like a cheese dish, kale and quinoa bruschetta and figs and olives, all of which were good. Drinks were good as well, and served in stylish glasses that match the décor. Service was friendly, if not terribly knowledgable. I’ll come back to drink, but out of towners might also consider staying there. Looks neat.

This place is quite«chillax» which is a combination of chill and relaxed. If you’re not particularly in the mood for a loud and noisy bar, stop by this place. Avoid the crowds of Pasadena on a Friday night to enjoy a refreshing, inebriating mixed drink along with conversation you can actually hear. I enjoyed the experience with my woman. The music they played was jazzy, lounge type music which complimented the calm, cool ambiance of the room. As for the drinks, they’re a bit on the pricey side. I ordered Makers N Coke, but it was more heavy on the Coke(tasted like Cherry Coke). Had to order the it straight the second time around!

The hotel just opened 2 weeks ago, but the bar was already packed. This time it was availble. It is a great addition to the neighborhood. The historic building used to be a hotel, then a retirement community. They kept the façade of the building which I’m sure will be restored. The whole thing was gutted and redone. This is part of an international hotel chain that has hotels mostly in exotic places like Dubai. It is a beautifully decorated modern décor. The waiter was great at giving wine and drink advice and gave us excellent service. The food was delicious as were the drinks. The first time I went on a Friday chef Hanson came out to ask how we liked the dishes. They were delicious! I had the beef tartar. Yum! Not only was it delicious but the presentation of the food is an experience. I’m sure in a few weeks you will need reservations, but for now there is ample seating in their beautiful dinning area. Currently there appear to be no reviews written, but I believe that will change in a few months with excellent reviews. On a side note, there are rumors that the elevator randomly stops on the 6th floor. If you’re adventurous, you might consider spending the night on Halloween and specifically requesting 6th floor accommodations. .I dare you! Plus I believe locals get a special discounted price. :)
