Almost give them 4 stars because they didn’t clean much tables outside. When I had lunch all outside tables are mess, people left food, plates and drinks and Noone took care about it. Anyway for lunch they are good if you check in they give you 10% discount. Food are not the best but prices are great. I went twice and got half half special for $ 9. You can choose salad, soup, sandwich or panini, two items and only $ 9. Will coming back.

They get 1 star based entirely on how rude Alvan G the server was. I understand that it’s 9am on a Sunday but let’s at least try to have some kind of customer service

I came here for lunch because I was at the conference center and the food was really good. Although it’s a little confusing as to where to order, but it’s easy to figure out. I ordered the Green Street Panini and it was very tasty. I definitely want to try the coffee at Tom n Tom because it smelled amazing when I walked in. The staff is really pleasant and I like the atmosphere. The prices are moderate where you can get a full sandwich, salad, cookie and drink for $ 12. Not a bad place to grab a bite if you are attending a conference at the convention center.

Came here on Sunday after Designer Con for a quick bite. Seemed like a reasonable spot. Overall the food options are decent and priced fairly. The food even tasted OK. However, the place was a dump. There is plenty of seating and 70% of the tables had crumbs, dirty trays, used napkins. It was pretty gross and totally ruined my appetite. I get that a place can get busy, but at any well run restaurant, the tables should be cleaned regularly so your paying customers have somewhere CLEAN to sit and eat.

Eh. The setup and décor was cool and as opposed to other reviewers, I actually like the idea of a coffee shop that can double as a pub. My 3 star rating comes from the mediocrity of the food. Definitely not bad, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back if suggested, but I’m probably not rushing the door to get there either… My boyfriend got the green st panini which he enjoyed alright, but they also took forever to get it done(well at least in comparison to my food, which was a little weird). I got the spicy bacon cucumber flatbread, they were out of bacon, so they kindly replaced it with pepperoni. It was huge, so that was a plus. The cucumber was refreshing though somewhat out of place on a pizza(maybe if it were cut differently), and the crust was pretty tasteless. It was also a little on the dry side, but I put tapatio on it so it was fine.

Totally horrid customer service. I stood at the counter for 10 just waiting for someone to take my order. Oven was broken, sandwich was super mediocre. I wanted 2 croissants and we’re told the ones they had weren’t for sale. I’m honestly not sure what’s going on with the a place, it’s unorganized, feels super bland and everyone who worked here was pretty terrible. Starbucks was closed across the street… Guess I had to take what I could get.

This place was a little schizophrenic for me. First of all, I walked in thinking it was a Tom n Toms. I ordered coffee there anyway. They had a few different pour overs, but I figured I would be safe with a latte. They offer soy and almond milk substitutes and sugar free torani syrups, which is a huge bonus! I still don’t know what went wrong. I could hear the barista steaming up my almond milk and the espresso grinding, but my drink was just off. The latte tasted syrupy. To me, syrupy coffee is the most unappetizing thing in the world. I can’t blame the sugar free caramel syrup, either. Caramel is my second favorite Torani flavor, after sugar free almond roca. Aside from the disappointing latte, the café confuses me. The first half of the counter is a café, the second half you can order beer and bar food. The only thing bar food-like were the pizzas and sandwiches. What about a burger? Fried appetizers? Plenty of seating, but the staff neglected to clean up the tables. Looking at the space, it would probably do better as a full-blown bar with a few tweaks to the menu

New Café: Same terrible food and service as before The food is of poor quality and greatly over priced, the place is dirty with a huge tear in my friends seat.

I’m surprised by the lackluster reviews. Exhibited at a conference across the street recently, and came here for lunch. The panini was so good that I returned the next day. Very convenient location for conference attendees to catch a break, with an abundance of seating and free wifi. First day — Green Street Chicken Panini. Recommended; everything meshed well together and was perfect on sourdough. My food was ready super quickly. Second day — Roast Beef Panini. Yes I decided to try another panini. I liked the chicken one more, but this one was also delicious. The aioli was addicting. This time there were a few people also waiting for their food orders, so there was a bit of a wait. Overall… seems like you can’t go wrong with the paninis. My chai tea latte was just alright, though, and the cup wasn’t full. Also according to my colleague, their smoothies are horrible, so maybe drinks aren’t their thing.

Tldr: yeah this place sucks, but if you’re desperately running around a conference you’ll probably get stuck here at some point. I was attending a conference at the convention center for three days and came here regularly to stay caffeinated(there is a star bucks in the convention center but it has odd hours). Here are the highlights: 1) despite being next to a convention center, they’re woefully under prepared when more than 5 people come at once. Expect long waits. 2) my friend asked the barista which of their roasts was a good dark one and the barista responded«uh. I think some of them are dark» and then proceeded to stare blankly into space. 3) I ordered an iced green tea that was steeped just long enough that the water became slightly opaque.

We ordered vegan panini and vanilla ice blended without cream, the panini did not have any taste, and the drink was so diluted and it tasted so watery without much flavor. The bathroom was messy with paper towels everywhere and worse of all the toilets didn’t flush — overall it is not only an unpleasant place to hang out but also doesn’t fit in the surroundings.

I was disappointed by service. Lunch time on Friday and they only 3 people working. Long wait to order and a longer wait for food. My total wait was 40 minutes. Not coming back! The restraurant was very dirty. The trash cans were over flowing and trash on the floor.

Just had a Chipotle chicken wrap and a bottle of IPA for lunch today. Generous size, good food. Not inexpensive, but worth the visit. (Edit: I see that other reviewers have complained about the service speed. I went there at about 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon — off-peak hours — and was served quickly. I have never been here at peak times).

Came here for lunch. I got the eggplant vegan panini and to my surprise it was extremely delicious. It also came with a house salad. The full sandwich is a big portion and I get full in half a sandwich. The location is also nice too with seating on the patio as well. I didn’t give it a full five stars because of the customer service. They employees seem like they don’t want to be there and get annoyed when you so questions. Other than that the food is delicious the area is and Tom N Tom’s coffee is in the same building. So perfect combination.

I was at a conference this weekend across the street from Exhibit R. Trying to grab a cup of coffee, I joined the many people in the line for Tom N Tom’s coffee(adjacent to Exhibit R). As previous reviewers have mentioned, I couldn’t tell they were separate restaurants. A lady from Exhibit R came up to the counter on ‘their side’ and said«Does anyone here want plain coffee?” – which I did. So I went up to the counter where she poured coffee out of a thermos thing into a cup and swiped my card… it rang up as more expensive than on the menu, which I told the lady. She then informed me that the two restaurants were separate(after she had swiped my card). So I paid more for coffee at a sandwich place than I would at a coffee place. I was upset that she would try to offer me service without explaining that she did not work for the coffee shop. I was late to my seminar so I didn’t address it with her. I got some cream and sugar from Tom N’ Tom’s and went across the street, thankful at least to have a cup of coffee. I was wrong. It was the worst cup of coffee I’ve ever had, and I drank hardly 3 sips. What a waste of money. Terrible customer service and ethics for misleading customers to buy their crappy coffee.

Didn’t know sandwiches can be so goooood! Came all the way from koreatown by my friend’s recommendation but it was so worth it! Got the asian chicken salad and turkey avocado sandwich(the most popular item). The salad was crispy and fruity plus the dressing had a spicy kick to it which was awesome and the sandwich was so good I ate everything in like 10 minutes! They recently started selling drip coffee so I tried the Ethiopian(iced) which was really flavorful. The staff was really friendly. They even gave a sample of their vietnamese cold brew which was really good. Not too sweet not too bitter. Restaurant was really spacious and clean. Overall, I loved it and will come back to try more(:

I’ve never written a review on Unilocal before but I just had to share about this place! I came in for a quick bite with a friend and we left feeling extremely satisfied. We got their Asian Chicken Salad and the Tuna Slaw Sandwich which were both so goooood. I was also surprised to find that they serve handripped coffee. And oh my. you MUST try their vietnamese cold brew! I’ve tried cold brew in a lot of different cafés but theirs was by far the best I’ve tried. The service is really great which is another plus. If you’re around the area, you should definitely stop by this place and give it a try!
