The Gladiator Rock N Run is an amazing event. While some of the volunteers along the course could be of more help, this event is great. Even if you run solo, you can find plenty of kind people to help you along. The obstacles are challenging, but they won’t break you like Spartan or Tough Mudder, so it’s a good race for OCR beginners. The Rose Bowl is a beautiful place for a race, and Dan ‘Nitro’ Clark is very nice. I can’t wait to run this race again next fall.

I got to take Joey Fatone(Nsync) timer tag off. 5 stars there. But as a volunteer for this event I would have to say it was a little bit unorganized and the beaming sun didn’t remind me why did I volunteer… then I was reminded You see the faces of people who have overcome several obstacles, they are tired, muddy, dirty and just to see their smile as they cross the finish line and receive their award is reward enough for me. This is why I volunteer. (side note) didn’t get to see the vendors or food trucks around since they kept us working till the event finished but to give that last person a high five for finishing was better then having a Sierra Nevada Beer

My girlfriend, her nephew, a coworker, and myself came to volunteer at the event. The Gladiator Rock N Run was a very cool event. There were lots of people having an awesome time. Lots of the participants were veteran mud runners, some were doing this for the first time, others ran in costumes or suits. We had volunteers at the finish line handing out medals, traking info for those with incomplete stats, and picking up time chips. There were some celebrities around too(ie Nitro from American Gladiators). Every at hand had a great time, and I decided then and there that I am going to run it next year!
