First of all fix your A/C please it was 98 degrees outside and 85 inside. No bueno!!! Second, the service here is good but its fake its not sincere what so ever. Third the food is average at best, nothing special about it. The Ice Tea was out and the food was not seasoned properly. Will we be back? There are way too many other places to come back to this one.

I recomend this spot. The food is good and the burgers are tasty. This is a clean establishment and good service. Sorry i didn’t take a photo shot of my hickory burger. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. 4 and a half stars. The reason for that is because in my opinion the burgers could be a little bigger than my hand. Everything else was great. I will definitely be returning with more friends and family.

This place is a great burger joint. I got the prime burger and added avocados and bacon. The burger was juicy and everything in the burger was the perfect combination of everything. I also got onion rings which were perfectly crispy. It’s also great that they serve beer, because I was able to wash my burger down with one.

Tonight was the first time at Hook Burger outside of lunch hours. We came here with a Party of three at about 7pm on a Sunday. It really wasn’t that busy at all. The service was friendly, as it normally is during lunch hours; however, there was a series of unfortunate events that led to this being a miserable meal. First of all, two of the three of us ordered Pretzel Burgers. After we ordered and paid, they came over to us and told us that they replaced out Pretzel Burgers with Prime Burgers, because they ran out of pretzel rolls. Well, ok – yes, we still got dinner; however, they certainly didn’t refund us any of the money that came with the Pretzel Burger upgrade. That was disappointing. Second, there was no air conditioning. It just so happened that it was about 110 today, and at the time of our visit it was still 105. It was a miserable place to be, and it was not fun to eat in this place today. I would have expected a refund of the difference in price of the burgers or at least a coupon towards a future purchase.

Meat is not gamey like grass-fed beef is. The meat is very mild tasting to the point of meatloaf. The ladies in our group liked it but the guys said ok but consensus was ok or not bad. If you went to other joints you’d be gnawing on heartiness and tasting it. Here, you eat with a civility called Hook Burgers, in fact they have knives & forks. One of our group called out,“where’s da beef?” You gotch yer Hickory/bacon, Maui/pineapple, Cali/avocado, Pretzel/cheese, and the plain Prime. There’s a sandwich version of each and the«hook up» is da combo, choice of fries/onion rings/cole slaw/yadda and a drink. Thinking i cud’ve had a Six Dollar Burger for a lot less.

Good burger and fries. I had the California Burger which had red peppers, avocado, and a chipotle sauce. The burger patty itself was very good, cooked perfectly, and good quality beef. I was expecting this burger to have a little more zing to it though. Would have been better with some jalapeños. Fries were crispy and served in a cone, how I like ‘em! We probably could have shared one order of fries between the three is us. We got two and didn’t finish them. I’d rate Hook a step above places like Five Guys and In n Out. Maybe on par with The Habit, lower than Stacked. Still a good burger, and not too crowded.

My first time eating here for lunch. Suggestion: Try the Maui burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce along with their regular fries it’s crisp just right and right and taste just right. Affordable burgers and huge portion fries.

Best burgers: Similar to Smashburger, BUTBETTER. A must try. There is a good variety. The service is very fast and hassle free. Plenty of seating. Complaints: needs better air conditioning. We went when it was hot; we asked them to turn up the AC, and they said it was the best it was gonna get. What does that even mean? The building is not even that big!

I love Hook Burger and the Pasadena location is wonderful. Cool and modern interior. customer service is on point… and the food is worthy of praise. The Cobb salad is without a doubt my favorite along with the bistro club! Add on a beer and your lunch/dinner experience is set for a great time. The managers are awesome and the young ladies working here are delightful. I recommend Hook any day!

Pretty good, but nothing unique about this burger joint. We tried the Maui burger and the California burger. They were good sized burgers and neatly presented. Order at the counter and first come first serve seats. Onion rings and fries were decent too. Overall it’s nothing special, but gets the job done if you’re craving a burger. Clean establishment and friendly staff.

Another cool, solid burger place in Pasadena! Came here for lunch with some coworkers after seeing it close to our office and decided to give it a try! The parking lot isn’t super big, so sometimes finding a spot can be challenging. It can also get very crowded during the lunch rush so be prepared. It’s a semi-self service restaurant. You order your food and pay first, they then give you a buzzer that will light up and vibrate when your order is ready to be picked up at the counter. We ordered: PRIMEBURGER — has grilled onion which I love! — the burger was great, juicy and flavorful — the bun was also nicely toasted and the condiments were not overwhelming DOUBLEMEATPRIMEBURGERWITHCHESE — same as the prime burger above just double the meat and cheddar cheese — still delicious CHICKENSANDWICH — huge portion — chicken is grilled nicely not too dry — a good alternative if you’re not feeling a burger FRENCHFRIES — nicely cut, not too big — these may be one of my top 5 french fries — i also just love potatoes in all their forms ONIONRINGS — huge! — so good, so crispy — you can never go wrong with onion rings Overall this place is a good casual dining place. I would definitely recommend it and be here in the future again!

Service was good, staff was friendly, place was clean, price was right and it tasted good! We ordered A LOT: 2 salads, 2 burgers, 1 sandwich, 3 full sides. Onion rings are delicious. BBQ sauce is delicious(have to ask for it). salads were filling and everyone was happy with their burgers/sandwiches(I had the salad and enjoyed the sides). The regular fries aren’t anything special, but the sweet potato fries were good! Parking was a breeze and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Good option when looking for a new burger spot!

This place is smaller than I realized, and I think it’s because the pizza place next door looks like it’s connected! It kind of reminds me of chipotle’s setting because it’s kind of small on the inside and has a small patio on the outside.(I don’t really know why else) You go to the register to order right away and they give you a buzzer so you can just sit and relax and wait for the buzzer to buzz to tell you to pick up your order. ANYWAYS, I ordered a pretzel burger with onion rings on the side and it was pretty filling. I didn’t even finish it all. The pretzel burger was yummy with a bit of crunch… from the pretzel bun itself! I like the meaty part mixed with the crunch, which would actually have kept being crunchy if it was cold but mine was a bit soggy from the sauces that dripped from the burger. Still yum! The onions rings are so good and crunchy! They don’t taste too floury and the onion doesn’t just fall out on its own! Like one bite and then no more onion. No, the onion actually stays in! So yay! The staff was very friendly and helpful! From the moment my friend and I went inside, we were greeted with smiles and they were patient while we were deciding what to order and picked up the food. One of the staff member, named Luna, would come around to make sure the customers were pleased with their order and would be quick to help the customers grab whatever they need. She was nice and friendly to my friend and I while we were taking pictures of our food(too good to not take a photo) and helping us grab boxes for our leftovers! Overall, it was a pleasant, quiet and good experience at this place. I would come back to try their other food for sure!

It’s not that the burgers at Hook Burger are bad necessarily; on the contrary, they are put together quite well but something is missing here. If I’m paying for what is essentially a craft burger, I’m expecting something different than other places, especially that of other burger joints. The menu here is quite small and all patties are grilled to medium well except by request. My friend and I shared quite a bit together and were overall full. I have to say that I like the Hickory Burger with Pepper Jack of the two burgers. Soft bun, small burger that fills you up along with bacon, shredded lettuce, BBQ sauce and onion strings. Not too greasy, but still a bit. This had a bit of attitude as opposed to the California Burger, which was a bit watery and lacking that oomph. But it did have avocado on it! I would actually prefer an option to build my own burger here, but apparently this is not the place to do so! We also shared The Trio, which consisted of French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and Onion Rings. Obviously the onion rings were the best. Get those. The sweet potato fries were covered in additional brown sugar, which I found strange and unnecessary as they were good without it. The house sauce that was supposed to go with this wasn’t very good either. The French Fries were the worst of the bunch. Something about those slightly limp and maybe sitting too long fries just didn’t cut it for me and I LOVE french fries! I usually finish my fries, but I couldn’t here. Service was excellent but isn’t quite enough to compensate for the fact that the food just wasn’t up to par and did not match the prices. I’d rather go to The Habit or Islands around the area to get my burger fix.

Just had one of the best burger ever. I ordered Hickory Burger, it was perfect size and flavor was amazing. 5 stars for sure Reason why I gave Hook Burger a 4. The tables were dirty. It’s odd how some costumers food were delivered to their table and some them had to pick it up themselves.

Burger challenge #5 with Donna S. After you order up front and pay, they bring the food out to you. Rather than a cheeseburger or so, I picked the turkey burger, which came with swiss, lettuce, tomato, red onion(I opted out), and cranberry aioli on a toasted brioche bun. The burger was smaller than I expected and I dusted the entire thing rather quickly. A good burger, but I wish there was more. Kudos to the server who noticed my keychain that had fallen off my purse and was on the seat when I was leaving. Very thankful to have gotten it back as the keychain was from Japan and practically impossible to replace! Plentiful parking spots.

I am all for a scrumptious burgers and Hook Burger was quite yummy! Located in Pasadena, I’ve driven by plenty of times but never ventured in until my dad tried it with his friend. The restaurant itself has indoor and outdoor seating. I will say it’s not a very big place with many tables able to accommodate a party of two but larger groups I didn’t feel as many. It’s seat yourself style, so order first and grab a table after. We decided on the Prime Burger and Grilled Chicken Sandwich on sourdough bread, the Pretzel Burger minus the onions, and a side of onion rings. Food came out in a timely fashion and I did like my pretzel burger and the onion rings even though I don’t like onions but hey, if you deep fry it, I’ll eat it. Service was attentive with staff always coming around and making sure tables were clean or refilling water. A note– sitting in the very back corner round table near the windows, I didn’t quite enjoy having to swat something away often, but I did let the manager know and he said they are working on it.

More like a 3.5÷5 because presentation and atmosphere is good and food isn’t bad. Just didn’t wow me like I thought it would. Got the Bistro Burger and it wasn’t bad. Roasted peppers are a good touch and adds to flavor depth. My compliant is that it’s not flavorful enough, there wasn’t much sauce to the burger and it could’ve used some. Also, it completely falls apart when you try to eat it. The lettuce falls apart and the burger is mad leaking juices everywhere. Which brings me to my next point, I think shredded lettuce doesn’t work as well in burgers as lettuce that isn’t shredded simply because you barley can enjoy the shredded lettuce without it falling all over the place. I like my burgers with a lot of lettuce and it’s not enjoyable when I’m picking all my lettuce pieces from the tray. Also tried the fire roasted burger, same review essentially. Roasted chilis were good but not enough spices and sauce. Fries were so-so, I liked that they were skinny fries but wish they were crispier on the outside.

I got the Prime burger($ 5.50) with cheese($ 0.75 extra), it’s $ 11.66 with fries and a drink. The meat was juicy and flavorful. The fries were tasty as well, their bbq sauce is goes well with it. Clean restroom and nice staff. They take card, the parking can get packed since it’s shared with a company building next door.
