I probably wouldn’t come here again. I was pretty much ignored when everyone else was asked if they were doing ok. I didn’t speak Spanish and I think the bartender didn’t like that. The Margarita was a pre-made mix. It wasn’t anything I’d do again

Just don’t. The bouncers let a girl in wearing a thong and a tshirt, no bra. It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen in my life. She was bending over, ass cheeks hanging. It was awful. Everyone noticed but nobody said anything. The music was ok, dance floor pretty empty. Maybe it was the naked girl that scared everyone away. I’ll never again step foot in this establishment.

I wont recommend this place to anyone. As a local I have tried to give this place a few chances, but its always the same. The bouncers are the worst. Very rude towards customers. I did try the food and its only ok. Wont go back.

Went there with my ladies. Scored few drinks, danced like crazy, got home all safe. Loved the music. Definitely for those who love mainstream musics. Going back Again! Ps: i haven’t tried their food tho. I mean i dont go to danceclubs for food.

This place plays good music and the vibe is great. The dance floor is a bit small so it makes it hard to dance sometimes. But overall it’s a place to try out! I like it !

So I’ve been here twice now. Their food is bad. Lol. The first time I went there I had the happy hour nachos and they were like the kind you’d get at a high school basketball game… the next time, I had a chicken lime avocado salad or whatever it was called. The chicken was really dry and not that great. But honestly, I love the service and the drinks. The people are great and they really try to make you happy. My bartender gave me a bunch of free shots he wanted me to taste. I really liked him. So don’t go if you want good food, but go if you’re hungry and want to have good fun with great people. I’ll probably be back. :)

Was here for St. Patricks day 2016 and I will never return. Worst waitress ever, her name was Jenny and she was not good at her job at all. We had to flag her down numerous times. Then we ordered nachos which came on a snack plate, for 13 bucks, a snack plate really?! Next we attempted to order tequila shots and according to Jenny they were out of everything we wanted. Why would you advertise Avion tequila then dont have the bar stocked with it!?! Last which was the cherry on top for me, after we got the check the waitress out loud complained her tip was too low!!! Word of advise Jenny and restaurant, you want a better tip, hire better waitresses and stock up on what you advertise in your bar.

My friends and I came here for Plan B since Plan A(visiting Downtown Fullerton for their bars/lounges) didn’t work out due to super duper heavy traffic that night! We opted to come back to Pasadena. It was a bit closer to where we reside in but I was still sad that we didn’t get to go to DTF! Blegh! Anyways, I always come to Pasadena to club/bar hop/chill. I’ve never really thought about going to IXTapa. Honestly, the line out the door kills my mood. My impatient ass will definitely NOT wait in line for a club, unless it’s in Hollywood. but I do have promoters which doesn’t take me long at all to get in. Like all clubs, the only way you can get in quicker is to get a table/bottle service. My friends got bottle service and they brought us in right away. Walked in, and the venue is kind of small. There’s a small section on the left hand side, considered as a dance floor, a bar right when you walk in to your left as well, and bottle service to your right as you walk in as well. Since this place is so tiny, everything you see is as you walk in. I didn’t really enjoy the dance floor because everyone was pushing and shoving. I got SO freaking claustrophobic and I had push everyone out of my way! I went out for a smoke, and I guess the patio area is a no smoking area. What the hell? So you had to go around the patio and onto the sidewalk to smoke! The stupid patio ISONTHESIDEWALK! It’s OUTSIDE! WTF kind of logic is that?! Although this get together was for my friends birthday, it was an alright night. I didn’t really enjoy it only because the music that was playing wasn’t my kind of music that i’m use to. Yes, i’m Asian — EDMFTW! hah! I wish there were Asian nights in Pas! I would bring all my friends out here more if that was the case! Make Pasadena a rave night every Thursdays! lol

Stopped in after the movies Early on a Sunday(5pm) … Waiter gave menus right away and took order Fish tacos for me, carne asada burrito for spouse. We wanted a pitcher of margaritas but after taking out order he was gone. We figured he might be back and we could order but soon we got the meals instead. Table a bit sticky and no cutlery. A bit more waiting and got cutlery Had to ask for waiter to return and take drink order. Finally did. Margarita Waiter very nice and seemed a bit stretched. He seemed to be handling the whole place. Later someone apologized for service citing short staffed. Fish tacos are good, good flavor. Got the chorizo beans to try. I love chorizo but even chorizo could rescue those beans. Also red salsa served with the fish tacos … I think green would go better. Carne asada burrito was ginormous but more like bean burrito with some carne asada thrown in. Asked for green sauce but was served red sauce. Never got a chance to have changed since service a bit lacking. Margarita was just OK, something a bit off in it. Like too sweet, too watery??? Idk… Not one if order again

Underage girls were trying to get in by teasing the bouncer — he did not let them in, but you could tell he was allowing them to bs for his entertainment. Inside, the seating areas are limited, and the dance floor is small. DJ was not great — tracks were mixed sloppily, sound also wasn’t good. Pasadena is not known for its nightlife and this club bar does nothing to help that reputation.

I find it very annoying when businesses advertise incorrect information on their websites/social media. In this day and age of technology, people research things ahead of time… at least I do. And updating your menu on your website should be a priority. They have had PLENTY of time to update the prices on their website… My first visit was in April 2015, then again in May, and my last time a few days ago. Their website says happy hour prices on margaritas are $ 5 glass /$ 23 pitcher… however on their menus in person, it says $ 7 glass /$ 26 pitcher. I can’t comment for sure on the hours of happy hour times though… website says 4 – 7 daily, but the hostess didn’t seem to know when we asked. Me and 1 friend shared a pitcher… we both barely drink, so we’re lightweights and didn’t feel like there was any alcohol in the margaritas at all. I’ve given them 3 chances… will not be going back.

I wish I had looked at reviews before my friends and I came here. We chose this place as their website talked about tapas but didn’t really see the tapas menu. We ordered nachos and quesadilla and pitcher margaritas. Nachos were disgusting and cold. They put cheese sauce on it and chips were soggy and rather awful Quesadilla was actually good. We had chicken one. Margarita didn’t taste like much alcohol I wouldn’t come here again Happy hour menu rather small. Prices were not even great. Very disappointed.

This review is solely for their lunch buffet. My co-workers mentioned walking by and seeing a sign for a $ 9.99 lunch buffet. I was sold. We walked in and the restaurant seemed to be partially open which makes sense. You can tell that lunch is not their money-maker. Anyway, the lunch buffet is set up at the front with a guy serving little tacos, choice of carnitas or chicken. I went with one of each. They also had enchiladas, rice, beans, fish, etc. Not a huge assortment but plenty, probably about 10 items. For a $ 9.99 lunch buffet, I have no complaints. The food was fine. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. The people are nice. Perhaps the only recommendation I have is that they label their food because as I’m listing what they offer, I realize I don’t know what some of that stuff is(though I ate them anyway).

Absolutely THEWORST Mexican food I’ve EVERHAD!!! They draw you in with a mariachi band that has a Caucasian guy doing the«mariachi grito» in order to distract you from the overly priced, dreadfully underseasoned, sadly overcooked, severely understaffed, overwhelmingly heartbreaking, idiotic concept of a restaurant. When my date and I got there Saturday night, there were some open seats throughout the restaurant but wanted to seat us in a corner with no view hidden out of sight which was the beginning of the irritation. When I asked to sit at another open booth, they hesitantly agreed but first stated that we had an hour before it would be used only for bottle service. Ceviche– Laughably priced at $ 14 for a measly cup of dreadful fish ceviche with LESS than a handful of unseasoned chips. This lackluster excuse for ceviche barely had any flavor. No salt; barely any lemon/lime juice; no spice; and sweet peppers!!! Pollo en Mole– What can I say, but again, it all went horribly wrong. First, the rice was overcooked, and sad to say that the beans were the«best» tasting item from the whole plate. The mole itself was severely underseasoned, felt as if the spices were raw and not toasted, bland with no remote signs of heat, and was sadly still missing something. For a packed house, they only had TWO waitresses that I saw and part of the time they were conversing with other staff instead of helping customers out. We saw her 3 times: when we ordered; right when we got our food but before we tried it; and when we paid 30 minutes after walking in to get the hell out of there ASAP! If there’s one thing people know about me, it’s that I like to sit and enjoy my meal with the company I’m with and FINISH what I order. So for me to not even eat HALF ofthe tiny bowl, nor my date her meal should REALLY say something about the depressing gruel that they«serve» here. SADLY, this place feels as if the food here is made for 4th or 5th generation«Chicano/as» that have lost touch with their roots and don’t know the difference between authentic Mexican cuisine/grandma’s food, and the white-washed slop that they serve here. Put it this way, TACOBELL has more authentic and better tasting food than this disgrace of an establishment. Whomever came up with the menu and recipes CLEARLY has no experience with Mexican cuisine and should either resign or close this place down IMMEDIATELY.

I definitely should have listened to my fellow Unilocalers on this one. Unfortunately, the inviting atmosphere does not match the unappetizing food. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and the place was absolutely empty. Needless to say the street was busy other restaurants were pretty packed. My dining partner and I decided to stay anyway; attributing to the fact that the restaurant was at the end of the block, away from the chaos of Oldtown. Our waitress was super sweet and handed us the happy hour menu, even though it was not happy hour. We decided on blue moons, guacamole with chips, casa chicken quesadilla, chicken empanadas, potato balls, calamari, nachos(sub chorizo with chicken-$ 2 extra) and sweet potato fries(to share). The food was super greasy, pretty bland, and was probably frozen and thawed. The deliverance of the food was also unacceptable; the waiter(who was not the girl who took the order) was holding the plates incorrectly and had fingers touching the plates where the food was sitting. After sending some plates back and having the items remade(or so we thought), we began tasting. None of the dishes were tasty, and the only item I found tolerable was the sweet potato fries. Absolutely won’t be back, which is a shame because the restaurant is beautiful and has so much potential. 2 stars for the super sweet waitress and the ambience.

HOTHOTHOTSALSANIGHT!!! I couldn’t believe to find this hidden gem at old town pasadena. If I only check it on Unilocal, with only 2.5 stars, I might not even think to come. However, by friend’s invitation, I came over for Tuesdays salsa party. Class $ 10(waived if you buy drink) for 1 hour: 8pm-9pm 9pm-12pm: salsa party Beautifully decorated, cheap drink(compared with West Hollywood establishments) and a lot of talented dancers. STEAMYNIGHT!!! People moving all around the place! Very strong vibe, the night was STILLYOUNG. I was a bit sleepy at first, but people swing me around, pumping up adrenaline! Woottt! !! Fast service at the bar. Great LIVEDJ! Memorable night ever!!! We literally got kicked out since we haven’t leave yet until the place closed(12am) Parking at the structure(at the back of the restaurant) for $ 7 flat rate at night.
