My personal favorite place in Pasadena to grab coffee and chill. This is saying a lot since there are a lot of great coffee houses in town, but this is #1. From the selection of roasts, specialty drinks, atmosphere, and comfortability. If you’re in the area and need coffee then it’s a no brainier.

Old rustic coffee shop feel with the brick walls and country-side furniture! you could definitely stay here and get some work done as we saw a few people doing certain specialty drinks only come in one size(the medium) but they do offer the small like starbucks for some drinks(which is always perfect for me) –vienna latte: THEWAYTOGO, this drink was suggested by the barista and it was really good with PERFECT foam! i got it with hemp milk. i’m glad this one comes in the small since i just needed a little pick-me-up take a gander at the chalkboard because they have seasonal drink specialties NOTE: if you’re coming after dark, their sign outside isn’t lit up so it’s easy to miss!

This place is awesome. I just moved here from the Midwest and it makes me feel at home. Excellent coffee, food, atmosphere, & price. The staff is friendly, too, which I love.

Jameson Brown is awesome and thats coming from a guy that works out of coffee shops some days. Here’s a breakdown of my coffee shop star rating: Coffee: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars Snacks: 5 stars Baristas: 5 stars Friendliness: 5 stars Wifi availability/performance: 5 stars AC availability: 4 stars Seating comfort/availability: 4 stars These guys have everything you’d want in a coffee shop — starting with great coffee. My litmus test for a great coffee shop is asking them if they can make something that isn’t on the menu. If they can you can tell that they take their coffee seriously. The coffee is strong and they have a wide range of craft coffee that they grind on the spot. The baristas are pretty awesome and everyone there –from the staff to the other customers — is friendly(ie not enough table space… just give someone at a table a head nod and they’ll graciously make room for ya).

First timer to Jameson Brown and I do enjoy finding new coffee shops to patronize. Very affordable, delicious hand crafted house specials, only soy and dairy milk just FYI. But definitely better priced than other niche coffee shops. Wonderful staff!

Very hipster, but excellent coffee. It definitely has a cozy, artsy atmosphere. There’s a lot of writers typing on their laptops during the day. You might have trouble finding seating inside since there’s a limited number of tables. Street parking only, but there’s 5-hour parking on Locust. The Lavender Vanilla Breve is a dream.

The only reason I go here is because of the Mayan Mocha. A very strong wake me upper if you like chipotle spice flavor. If your not into spicy drinks or flavor Mayan Mocha won’t be your kind of coffee. This place is known for the lavender breve must try!

Comfortable atmosphere good for studying. Free wi-fi is a plus Friendly staff recommended the Lavender Vanilla Breve, which turned out to be a delicious creamy drink. Loved the vanilla undertone, and it wasn’t too sweet. Indoor seating can be limited, so be prepared or hope for the best. Street parking only. Can be hard to find a spot during the day.

Definite hipster crowd. Young and casual. Many people studying with laptops so we sat outside in 97 degree weather. But inside wasn’t overly air conditioned, which was nice, because usually coffee shops are too cold for me. Music wasn’t too loud. They closed early. 6pm. Wish they would be open later for people studying.

Good strong Mayan mocha… definitely a must have if you visit this coffee shop… if the coffee doesn’t wake u up the Chipotle chilli definitely will… not for those who do not have the patience for spicy drinks My go to store for coffee… great ambience as well!

This is a nice place to chill with friends or to do work. It’s hipstery. It has a calm ambience and feels relaxing. I tried the honey and cinnamon latte(forgot what this was called). The cinnamon and honey is nice and subtle. The coffee isn’t too strong tasting and the flavors are well balanced. Also, the cold brew here is on point. It is how cold brews should taste like with a nice smooth finish.

Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters(JBCR) might not receive as much publicity as other well-known Pasadena coffee shops such as Intelligentsia Coffee or Copa Vida, but JBCR sure serves an amazing cup of latte. Parking was simple enough(street parking) and service was super friendly. Fast Wi-Fi with available outdoor tables & seats(personally I would not recommend to sit outside because there was a weird smell & various distractions from flies). Menu: Drip coffee, cold brew, classic coffees(cappuccino, Americano, latte, mocha), teas, and five signature creations(Lavender Vanilla Breve, Mayan Mocha, Vienna Latte, Coconut Breve, and Snowball). You can also get either a-day-old pasties for $ 1.25 each(or 3 for $ 3) or fresh pasties. *** Lavender Vanilla Breve(the drink that started it all, 12 oz only — $ 3.95): Not overly sweet with a hint of lavender. Each sip was smooth from the beginning to the end. This was probably one of the best lattes I’ve had in the SoCal. Honey Bran Muffin: Delicious — not too sweet and I munched it down like a true bear. *** JBCR is definitely a coffee shop worth visiting in the SGV(San Gabriel Valley) area. Honey Bran Muffin was really yummy and now I actually want to try other pastries they offer here. Overall I like JBCR a bit better than Intelligentsia Coffee.

Chipotle peppers gave the Mayan Mocha I ordered a nice spice to the chocolate inside my cup. The place is small inside and filled with laptops and headphone bodies leaving us no available seat so we got it to go. I love coffee shops that do decorative art on top their drinks. They have barrel’s inside with a variety of coffees– I wish they had samples out on them though that is one thing definitely lacking in coffee shops are samples of the coffee they have for sale especially if they carry a variety. I will be back to grab some small bags to try out.

Originally, I would have given this place 4 stars. It had a really nice, open seating area with a decent selection of brews, baked goods free wifi and abundant street parking. Until I asked the barista for the WiFi password and name. She was talking to a friend when I came up and asked what the WiFi name and password was, she told me the password, but not the name, so when I asked for the name as a precautionary measure so I wouldn’t have to come back in case it was something random like«TWC», «Netgear 55» or «I Love Coffee», which is hardly uncommon, she told me it was called«Jameson Brown». Pretty straight forward. Okay. I said thank you and turned to go back to my seat. The conversation could have been over, and Jameson Brown could have had 4 stars. But before I was even close to being out of earshot, she told her friend in a mocking tone, «he wanted to know what the WiFi name is haa haa!» and they both laughed. How rude. It was a perfectly legitimate question that was so insignificant that two people could have resumed their lives within less than 5 seconds, but here I am writing a review about the terrible service rather than the quality of their cappuccino or coffee cake that I had. I even forgot to take pictures of their food/drink/café, which I normally would have because I was so distracted by the rude exchange. I won’t be back.

TL;DR: I’m prepared to be bombarded with a ton of shade and I don’t even care. If you like overly sweet Starbucks-esque lattes, this is probably right up your alley. NOTE: The baristas are really sweet and when I brought it up to her that the drink was waaaaay too sweet, she was pretty friendly(customer servixe ppints!). Unfortunately, they are not allowed to alter the order in any way…(but I did notice that its literally just syrup that goes into this latte, nothing special) I wish I had known that beforehand. The good: — AC(pretty solid!) — They know their beans — Plenty of seating The bad: — Its pretty noisy. Even with headphones on, the music here is a little loud and a lot of the patrons here are in «meetings». Essentially, you hear like 6 different conversations. I wouldn’t come here to study The ugly: — The«drink that started it all» is the lavender vanilla breve and its EXTREMELY saccharine. Its like drinking pure sugar.(Or is that a pro?) — WiFi is poor. I mean… you charge over $ 4 for a latte… you can bump up the wifi. — $ 4.31 for a 12 oz. Lavender vanilla breve. Ok, I was super disappointed with my breve(essentially just a creamier latte). I was expecting a complex drink. However, it was so sweet that my mouth kept watering(tmi?). Personal preference, but I expect a specialty drink to incorporate flavors that compliment the roast(ie the lattes at café dulce). I don’t want to go into diabetic shock after finishing a small specialty latte. Maybe their regular lattes are better since the actual espresso was pretty solid. But yeah, lousy wifi and high prices tell me to blow this popsicle stand ans get my caffeine fix elsewhere.

Very creative drinks. Not only serves the regular latte, cappuccino, and mocha. They also serves something like their signature ‘Lavender brev latte’. I think it is just latte with lavender syrup. But the sweetness is just about right. If you like lavender, you will like it. They also have some seasonal drink, like the orange with cinnamon. A lot of space to sit and work on computer or just read.

Coffee beans roasting on an open fire, Coffee aroma nipping on your nose, John is prancing to the nearby register And baristas greet me with a happy smile! Been here twice and this place radiates a comforting, soothing, and a friendly environment. I usually get their cold brew and its the cheapest cold brew that I’ve indulged. Only $ 2.95 for a large. Very bold and acidic. Just the way I like it. If you’re lucky to score a seat next to the fireplace, you should do it! Prop your feet up, sip on your coffee, indulge in a pastry or two, and read a book during your stay. Enjoy life and breathe a little during your stay! :)

This is a first, but this was the best coffee house I have been to(in the US anyway). It might have been the ambiance on this particular morning or the craving for something different when it comes to coffee, but this place had all of that. Saturday morning I had to drop off the car for repair and my husband and I decided to give this place a try. Right off of the 210 on Allen, its located on a corner, brick building with very few windows. Very unassuming. There’s street parking and we parked on the street. You walk inside and its cozy with tables, couches and there was a guy playing chill music on his guitar. Awesome. There weren’t that many tables and when we walked in, there weren’t any available. What did we get? Lavender Vanilla Breve Mayan Mocha Almond Croissant After placing our orders, a table had cleared so we could sit and enjoy our coffee & croissant. Our thoughts: FANTASTIC! We both loved our drinks. Unique and excellent. Oh, and the croissant was very good, too. Final note: there was a sign on the table asking patrons to limit their time to 2 hours. Awesome. I wish they were closer to me.

Came here today to get some work done. About: Serves coffee and pastries. Free wi fi. Drinks: I heard their most popular drink is the Lavander Vanilla Breve which was delicious! I would definitely get it again. My friend got the Vienna Latte, which has honey and cinnamon in it, that smelled amazing. Environment: Very friendly and chill. Workers are great. Very cute and homey setup. Good place to just chill or get some work done. Parking: The back parking lot is only for tenants of the other businesses around but there are 5 hours parking on the street. Would come again :)
