I love this restaurant! I was lost and figure to just park and get some lunch. Best detour that I’ve encountered. The staff is super sweet and friendly. I highly recommend this place for anyone that loves papusas. Everything on there menu is great as well! I’ll definitely be back!

Excellent service. Excellent food. Best papusas in Pasadena! I live down the street and come here at least once a week. You literally won’t find anywhere friendlier or with better food. THISPLACEISTHEBEST!

Great service and great food. I was talking with one of the owners today and I mentioned the reviews on Unilocal, she expressed the original owners have been back a few months now. I must say service is great and food is awesome. For those that been here while the original owners were on hiatus, give this place a second shot I’m sure you will be wowed.

I have no idea why they have such horrible reviews. This is my go to place when I have a Pupusa craving. They are made fresh and are amazing! Highly recommend the revuelta ones. Will def be coming back

Regarding Thatz L. below, well, I can’t say if these people are racist or what, I don’t know why«mexicans» kept going into the restaurant, maybe they had a meeting or had reservations for a private party, who knows. But what I’m wondering is how does Thatz L know those people were«mexicans»? He keeps saying«mexicans». How does he know they are not salvadorians, or cubans, or ecuadorians, or argentinians, or pamamenians or puertoricans, etc. etc? What’s up with the«mexicans»?? :-)

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to taste the food. I decided to give it a chance, but as I was about to walk in the door at 8:15pm, this woman came to me right away saying, «we’re closed».(Even though the light of the business establishment sayd OPEN, and it was full of Mexicans seated and eating. I said ok, thinking that hey, maybe it just closed… I just missed it. So I turn and walk away, however, a Mexican man was right behind me. She told him something in Spanish, and he said something back to her in Spanish, and I turned the corner to walk to my car. Then Another Mexican man then was walking to the restaurant. Of course I waited to see if they too were turned away. Guess what? They never came back out of the restaurant. So tell me, why were they allowed to go in and eat and I wasn’t? The nerve! Maybe only Mexicans are allowed here.

This place is bomb! What are people complaining about??? It’s like having food at someone’s Mexican/Salvadorian house. I would know, that would be my house. It’s seriously like moms cooking. Would give it 5 but the inside is a bit dated.

I’ve been here three times and so far it’s been great. Yeah it takes a while and it’s not ritzy but from what I’ve experienced the service and food has been top notch. Today the pupusas were cooked perfectly. Nice and crisp all around and stayed hot since it was cooked fresh. If anything weird comes up I’ll report.

First and foremost I gave it 1 star because I couldn’t give it –10 stars. The customer service there doesn’t exist ! Customers should always be treated like the #1 priority. They are rude and they do not put into consideration people’s time. When placing a phone order expect for it not to be ready or even started. When you call to complain they basically tell you that they don’t care. This place will not see any of my pennies. Place needs a rude awakening.

Go Anywhere but here. CROOKSANDLIARS We were in the area and wanted anything but american food. Found this place and the prices on the menu were reasonable. We placed our order and asked for 3 large drinks when they served us they gave us medium sized drinks and insisited that those were their large. I pointed at the counter where a large cup was placed and the man insisited that it was the same size(I’m Not Dumb or Blind). Then when our order was taken the final price was extremely ridiculous they were trying to charge us double for what we ordered and said that their menu prices had changed, we immediately cancelled the order and left. What a shame. I’m surprised these people are still in business

First time here. I placed a phone order for 4 tacos and and it took forever for my order to be done. 45 min! I don’t know why I waited that long. I won’t be going there again. The 1 star is for the apologie the man gave me. At least that.

Worst service and sanitary conditions. Too bad pasadena does not have any health grades posted on their windows because this place is baaaad. Let me tell you my experience. Me and my family came in here to try there pupusas and other dishes, since we live down the street we like to try our surrounding spots. So we ordered pupusas, casadillas and a burrito for me. The pupusas were not that good and their was a long hair in my burrito, I mean super long. What grossed me out was I did not find the hair till half way through my burrito and when I pulled it out it wrapped through the bottom half of it. That ‘s not the worst part, when I returned my burrito to the front counter and told the lady her and the cook both shrugged there shoulders and did not say sorry or anything. I asked for my money back and wondered what else about this place was questionable. Be careful! JUst look at the floors, see if they have hairnets and gloves when they work. I will not try this place again.

Is this is Salvadorian food, then I’m Dick Tracy… Worst Pupusa that I ever ate and greasy like Castrol GTS oil… The moment you see the cooks picking their teeth with crusted hands while making pupusas and grabbing plastic cups of specialty drinks, don’t even bother… A few hours after I ate their Pupusa, man I had a diarrhea attack for 2 – 3 days. This restaurant is the Salvadorian version of Burger Continental in Pasadena… I’ve tasted better Salvadorian food in Downtown L.A. better than this place… Avoid at all cost!

It was my first time having pupusas & ordering my very own coke in a glass bottle. Didn’t expect them to be so large in size, but that’s good for the price you’re paying & if you’re really hungry. Two is a good amount w/a side. Tried the queso con chicharron and the asada. They came w/a cabbage salad that I placed on top and some salsa. They would be plain tasting w/o any of the side pairings. They charge 0.50 cents for card transactions so bring cash. I would come back just to try something else off their menu. Small private lot to park in. Small dining area w/TV — nice during the day.

I came here because I was really craving some pupusas and a casamiento(rice and beans mixed with some spice I believe) the lady that helped me was nice but as I’m about to pay with my card she tells me the atm doesn’t work. Had to go across the street to get cash and when I’m about to pay again she didn’t have change wtf? By the time i got my food(20 mins later) the pupusas were really greasy and soggy and the casamiento looked so dry it was probably more than a day old. Next time I’ll just go to the little restaurant on orange grove. Their food is way better.

The other day I was starving so I stopped at the first place I saw for a breakfast burrito which happened to be Maritza’s. While the lady behind the counter was sweet the coffee and chorizo burrito were just OK. I’ve experienced better.

Haven’t been back to this place since the day I saw one of the female cooks picking her teeth with her fingers while making pupusas. Yeah, I figure I’m taking a risk each time I eat out somewhere but if they are doing this in front of customers, I don’t want to imagine what’s going on behind the scenes.

Semi biased review just ahead… A student of mine introduced me to this spot boasting the best pupusa’s in town. My first taste believe it or not was their menudo sans hominy. Knowing me, I’m a sucker for ham hocks and pork knuckles. Mmmm. The broth could’ve use a tad more chiles but for the most part-hearty and a good portion of meat to broth. Countless other times I’ve had a taste of their tacos, pupusas(very, very good), and beef birria. Their agua fresca’s are thirst quenching. Their jamaica can be a bit on the sweeter side but a good cup of ice added to it can fix that. Pineapple and horchata were my favorites. Located in a sketchy part of Pasadena but in the heart of a cultural community surrounded by other taquerias and mom and pop markets.
