After dining at the Easton location during our wedding weekend, my husband and I were so excited to find this location so close to our new home! The service was fantastic and the food exactly as delicious as we remembered. We started with the loaded tater tots with brisket at our servers recommendation and it was delicious. We then shares the platter for 1 – 2 and ended up bringing home leftovers. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious and I am obsessed with the baked beans. I’m glad it’s on my way home so we can pick up takeout easily!

Can’t say that I will be back here. Small wings, boiled meats. True smoked BBQ has a pink ring, but then again, they never claimed to be smoked BBQ. I was really disappointed — we ordered a sampler, the nachos, the wings, and a couple of sandwiches. I have to say that nothing was super great, except for the beans. The beans were good and noteworthy. I am not a BBQ snob, understanding that there are different methods that work, but the flavor just wasn’t there. I was really hoping for something better, but it looks like another Pasadena restaurant that is taking short cuts and will end up out of business.

I stopped in mid-day for a late lunch. Since I was the only one there I had my choice of where I wanted to be seated. Menu had your normal offerings for a bbq joint. sandwiches, salads and platters. A little pricy but my portion sizes were above average. I ordered the chicken sandwich which had a sweet sauce that I would not try again. The sandwich was huge and came with a small side of coleslaw, pickle and a side of mac and cheese. I was able to change the standard chips for mac and cheese free of charge(bonus points). Sweet tea was on point! The waitress was friendly but brought me my check less than halfway through my meal. Made me feel rushed and didn’t offer dessert. Being the only one there and feeling kinda rushed sucked. I will give this place another chance and hopefully i will get to try some dessert.

Went there last night around 7:30 to meet a friend. Was told that they were out of ribs and pork! That is half of the menu! Of course, they didn’t tell me until after I ordered a $ 6 beer. I paid my tab, and went somewhere else. I’ve been there before and gotten decent food, but for a rib joint to run out of ribs at 7:30! That’s nuts. They should have just closed.

Best BBQ I’ve ever had. Not even a debate. Price is fair. I highly recommend the medium style BBQ sauce. It just does not get any better than this BBQ. The pulled pork is fantastic.

So the meh is entirely for cost and speed. Went there last night randomly. Place was almost completely empty. The menu is interesting and the food was good BUT $ 30 good for two adults and a toddler? No. Got the pulled pork quesadilla. Tasty. Hubby got jalapeño steak and cheese. Kid got a slider, Mac and cheese and fries. It was a lot of food. No super impressed with the actual pork. On the fatty side and not a strong smoke for all the smoke you could smell. Again just meh. Mission BBQ is better.

Best BBQ in Maryland. DONOTWASTE your time going to Mission BBQ if you want real BBQ go to the BBQ Joint. I have eaten BBQ all over the US and have judged various BBQ events. It does not get nuch better than this. Try the Texas Beans… and brisket.

«The bbq joint», more like I need a joint to eat there food. $ 11 for a sandwich and chips, really? Turkey was dry and they put shredded cheese on on my sandwich instead of a slice like normal restaurants. They don’t have tomatoes an hour into opening. «You’re down the street from giant and safeway, go get what you need to complete your orders.» Do not waste your time with this place. Drive ten minutes more to the wonderful Mission bbq where you get superb service, quality food and your dollars worth. Do us a favor an shutdown bbq joint. We all know it’s gonna happen.

Bottom Line: Friendly staff serving good barbecue in a casual atmosphere. I used to think Marylanders were particular about crab cakes but I think its possible they are even more picky about BBQ. After reading many Unilocal reviews for many barbecue joints, I have learned that personal opinions run deep on what good«q» is and isn’t, but that is ok with me. My father smokes brisket and has an award winning BBQ sauce named after my sister, so I too know what I like. As far as The BBQ Joint goes, I think they have some good stuff coming out of their smoker — not the best I’ve had but it will certainly satisfy my cravings for barbecue. The BBQ Joint is a nice casual eatery. You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. They have several beers on draft and in bottles or you can opt for a refreshing beverage from the Coca-Cola soda fountain. They also have tea, lemonade and Arnold Palmers. The menu options here are the classics — pulled pork, beef brisket, roasted chicken, etc. You can get an entrée(mounds of meat) or a sandwich. Sandwiches are served on potato bread and come with homemade potato chips and coleslaw. You can upgrade to fries or onion rings as well. Speaking of fried goodness, the fried pickles here are yummo and come with a tasty white dipping sauce. In fact, that white sauce is good on french fries too. If you want something on the lighter side, you can get a salad with meat. Whether you go for a sandwich or an entrée, I highly recommend getting it without sauce. The BBQ Joint has about six different sauces and its fun to try to the different flavors before baptizing your meat in the condiment of your choice. Overall, an «A-OK» experience.

I think this place is great! I stopped in for a Pork BBQ platter and I was impressed! They really get it with their Eastern NC barbecue sauce! It’s a simple blend of vinegar and red peppers! No gooey ketchup base! YES!!! It’s what the epitome of Eastern NCBBQ, Parkers of Wilson, NC does! How do I know the difference? I had real Tar Heel parents who stopped by Parkers every time we headed to beautiful White Lake in Bladen County! I was born in Richmond, Va. And they had the wonderful Bills Barbecue until The locals bought into the Big LIE about the unwholesomeness of Pork! WHATWEENIES! Bills was an institution that never should have died as a victim of the liberal intelligentsia that voted for OBama! Ok, back to the BBQJOINT! Not anything like the great pretender, Mission BBQ of Columbia! Pretty close to KLOBY’s Smokehouse in Laurel which I consider to be tops except for their STUBBORN insistance that NCBBQ sauce is ketchup based! NC actually has 3 distinct sauces: Eastern, vinegar & peppers Lexington, slightly ketchup based but not overpowering Charlotte, abomination of gooey ketchup! YUCK! Folks please do not eat pork with ketchup! It’s just NAAAASTYANDPERVERTED! I expect the far Western area of NC to start gobbing mayonnaise on their BBQ! It’s as distasteful as putting milk in grits! GODHELPUS! OK, a few suggestions for The BBQJOINT: 1.) try putting a light sprinkling of celery seed in the pork! It enhances the flavor of pork! 2.) Dump the Mediocre MARTINSPOTATOROLLS! For gosh sakes! They are made in Yankee Pennsylvania! Use plain Wonder Bread Hamburger Rolls, but STEAMTHEM! Marvel at the difference! No overpowering of the Pork! 3.) learn to make Brunswick Stew, Boiled BBQ potatoes and Hush Puppies! Mmmmmm! 4.) Andrew Evans, owner: make tracks to Wilson, NC and study PARKERS! Heck ill take you! Love to! 5.). Offer Banana Pudding for dessert! 6.) study NC Cole Slaw! It has mustard in it and it’s yellow! CUT back on the mayo! Just helpful criticism that could make you the best in MARYLAND! No such thing as MARYLAND pork BBQ, so imitate and prosper! Don’t worry though, ill still be your regular customer! I love you! I really do!

The staff is friendly and goes out of there way to make you feel at home. They made me feel like I was one of their best friends and were really easy to talk to. They were very appreciative of the fact that I am former Navy and thanked me for my service. The Brisket is delicious and melts in your mouth. They provide a good portion of food with the sandwich. I have been to other BBQ places which charge about the same and provide less portions for the price. They have a small selection of craft beer on tap, which I wasn’t expecting. Was even told that they are trying to have a craft beer night on the last Thursday of every month. $ 5 for a pint and get to keep the glass. For anyone into craft beer that is not a bad deal. The place is very clean and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely go back.

Really disappointed, I hope Chef Andrew hasn’t stooped to one of the oldest BBQ tricks in the books called«parBoilded» meats, normally done in large catering/hotel type kitchens, I have NEVER seen an award winner BBQ Outfit boil there meats then but then on a smoker and call it real smoked bbq! Went there this past weekend for the first time, ordered $$$ worth of meats and sides A quick rundown from a very opinionated Chef Brisket: wondered why it was cut so thick, real smoked brisket is never cut thick, to much salt in the rub, the meat as well as the fat and the so called burnt ends all had the texture of meat being boiled! Ribs: sweet rub was good, meat over cooked Chicken: nice rub on that, this was rather good, not boiled Pork: no flavor at all, boiled meat texture NC Sauce: way way to spicey Beans: nice flavor Potato salad: beats out KFC Mac/Cheese: beats out KFC Well overall a big failure for Chef Andrew if indeed there boiling there meats first to save time and over head! If your truly not, find a real smoker to use! Go back to the old days Chef, relive the dream and start putting A+ BBQ again!

Tried a platter with a variety of items. The flavor was okay, however the temperature of the food was nearly lukewarm.

This place is so good. Their meats are all high quality and free of growth hormones and antibiotics. All the sides are homemade and they also vary their homemade desserts too. The collard greens and Mac and Cheese will rock your world. I love both of their salads – BBQ Chicken and Beef and Blues. My husband gets a pork sandwich nearly every visit and won’t stop talking about how good it tastes. They also run pint nights and invite local breweries to visit.

This place was absolutely fantastic. Went here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was fairly busy, but not overwhelmingly so. My father and I had the pulled pork sandwich which we both loved. He got coleslaw and baked beans with his, and I had the cornbread and Mac and cheese. The cornbread was to die for. It practically melted in my mouth, and was so delicious. My son loved the mac and cheese. My fiancé got the brisket sandwich with the baked beans and fries. His sandwich was devoured in moments, and he thought the beans were unique. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I’m excited that this place does not only dine-in, but also take-out and catering. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves good BBQ. Reminds me of being back home in the south.
