I think this is a good place for some things and not so good for others. I think you need to be realistic in your expectations and needs. This is NOT a nursing home and I wouldn’t put a critically ill person there. This is a short term care center where people in need of physical therapy can go to recover before or after a surgery. They are outstanding at physical therapy. Nursing care seems to be hit or miss. Some staff is outstanding and others hit or miss. I think a person needs to be fairly self sufficient to do well here and really on the road to wellness and mainly needing physical therapy. It is neat, clean, smells good and pleasing to the eyes. It actually looks nice and not depressing. If you put someone too ill here, you will probably have complaints. If you have a recovering person here, you will probably love it because it isn’t nearly as depressing as standard long-term skilled nursing places are. Don’t let this appearance influence you into putting someone here who is too ill though. Therapy is their thing and they are good at it. I wouldn’t put someone here with dementia issues or some one just not wanting to be here. Someone could easily walk out the unattended side door at night. Front doors are locked at night but side doors are open for visitors 24⁄7. Food is awful, nothing heart healthy about it if you are a cardiac patient. My loved one barely ate and I must admit, it looked awful when served. We supplemented by bring food in. They could improve greatly on quality of food(nothing against food preparers but definitely strikes against the quality and menu). And it wouldn’t or bankrupt kill the facility to buy sheets that fit the bed. Every time we went to visit, the too small sheet had popped off and our family member was just lying on the vinyl mattress. Shame on them for being so cheap with food and linens for what they cost. My loved one needed physical therapy and medication assistance and got great treatment there related to that. Your experience here depends on you making the right choice regarding the level of care actually needed. For us it was great.

Nice rooms. No visiting hours issues. Near the Patients Medical Center hospital. Very clean and patients there seem to be content while they are getting their health back. Friendly staff and you don’t have to look far for someone if you need them.

By far the best place I have ever been. The staff is very kind and gentle with my grandfather. This is the only place in Pasadena that we feel very comfortable Iin overseeing my grandfathers health and recovery. We are definitely treated just like family members. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is in need of long or short term health care

I live out out state and am my father’s legal guardian, I’ve jumped through hoops for days and I was unable to get ahold of his nurse to find his status. So far: I’ve waited on hold over an hour collectively, transferred to dietary twice, hung up on once, transferred back to the receptionist once, sat on hold unexpectedly twice, talked to the wrong nurse once, waited on hold forever and then had the phone ringer forever.
