Awful. Fish is overcooked and tastes like chicken and the meals are very overpriced. Will not be coming back.

First time here and after hearing the rave reviews of the fish tacos I was beyond disappointed. Nothing special whatsoever, bit dry, the fish was gray and just flavorless. Got the salmon bowl to share and while the size is big, again no flavor in the rice, salmon or citrus slaw. And if I have to pay for chips and salsa, I expect amazing salsa or at least good. I’m not sure what they use as their base mix but it just isn’t good. Guacamole is also flavorless. Everything has the makings to be good but seasoning seems to be… out of season… here.

Excellent food. Excellent customer service. Rocio and the other gal whose name I’m so sorry I can’t remember but starts with a Viridana(I know I’m spelling that wrong) were so friendly and helpful. We were constantly checked on and made to feel right at home!

They contact us and mail us a refund and we ended giving them another try. This time we made sure we got everything we wanted in the meal and it taste good. Good job on customer service and valuing repeat customers.

I went here for lunch and wasn’t particularly impressed with my Wahoo chicken bowl. What I did like about this place is that you can get a healthier option, such as black beans vs. fried beans or brown rice vs. white rice. However, I can’t say that the food was especially tasty and would rather go to some of the other places that are nearby.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place, I’ve been coming here for years. Really great food here, portions are fantastic, and prices are good! The food is freshly prepared and you can tell that it’s good quality. Plenty of seating area, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. You can stop by in your gym clothes, you can come for lunch during the work day, etc. The workers are very attentive. They asked how we liked the food, took away dirty plates and trays, even offered refills. This is one of my healthy spots I love to hit up every now and then. TONS of parking in the back too.

There is literally no reason to go to Wahoo’s(aside from fish tacos) when Sharkey’s, Chipotle, and Rubio’s are within a block of this place. My steak burrito was bland, as were the fries, and rice. I will say the beans are pretty good — they have a distinct flavor to them. BUT, I do not go to restaurants for beans. I go for STEAK, CHICKEN, SALSAS, FLAAAVORRR. If you like fish tacos, maybe this place will hit the spot. Other than that, I would avoid and go to Sharkey’s instead.

Wahoo’s fish tacos are good, but their tacos topped with their refreshing citrus slaw are the BOMB. Service is fast and friendly and the casual atmosphere with beach décor makes you almost forget that you’re there for lunch on a work day.

Lili is the best manager and she has treated our family like family for many years. My family loves this place and her staff is so awesome. Thank you so much.

We grabbed dinner here Saturday with my free coupons from donating blood to the American Red Cross :) so dinner was on them, thanks! My boyfriend and I both had the #1 Entrée. I had a grilled fish taco, and he had the chicken enchilada both with black beans and brown rice. Our meals were satisfying and fulfilling. I liked the little bit of pico de gallo they put atop of the rice and beans. This isn’t the type of place I’d normally want to try but having the free coupons persuaded me into giving them a shot. Friendly staff and our food came out quickly. Plenty of parking in back of the building.

Avoid eating here! GROSS! This has to be the worst wahoos I’ve ever been to. The quality of the food has sunk to a whole new level. It’s not a coincidence that this place is empty at 6pm. I miss the old food. Pico de gallo salsa, not the low quality pace stuff they serve now. The meat of the maui bowl resembles anything but meat, its like colored like pork or something, not steak and is taste less. The chips are hard and thick and not like the old chips. The only wahoos I can vouch for is the costa mesa/placentia st. location.

The number #1 plate is not bad at all. I ordered the spicy fish taco, rice and spicy beans and it was very filling. I was going to add some hot sauce but it wasn’t necessary since it was perfectly flavored.

Really enjoy their kale kai salad, have had it with both tofu and fish, easily my favorite thing on the menu! But if you really want fiah tacos, make your way over to Señor Fish.

Came here during a cycling event where they were passing out free combo #1 lunch tickets. Of course, being the Asian me, I got myself a free meal. There is no wonder why they were giving out free meals. The meal was unsatisfying and expensive(if you had to pay for it). Average cost for 1 taco, sides of beans and rice is $ 6 – 7. I can get 6 tacos that taste awesome at a taco truck for that price. It’s a different story if the taco was«the best I’ve ever had», then I don’t mind spending the dough, but when you pay for overprice taco that is a different story. I watch my friends eat their food like they were swallowing a pill they didn’t want to take. Thank god this was a free meal. Would never pay to eat here. The service was horrible. Extremely rude. The lady at the register didn’t know what she was doing. It took her 10 minutes to put in a 30 second order. They also forgot my friend’s order. We all got served and my friend waited literally for 45 mins for his food. We asked if they forgot about his meal and they shrugged us aside. To make matter worse, when his food finally arrived, they gave him the wrong order. haha. No apologies. Nothing. They had the«i don’t give a f**K attitude». They were going to take it back, but he didn’t want to wait another hour for his food to be spit on. I was so sure they were going to spit in his food if they took it back. Would NOTRECOMMEND coming here unless you attend anger management classes and need to test your patience.

My fish taco experience at Z’s Crazy Good(in reality it was just ok) led me to branch out a little bit & try other fish taco places. I honestly couldn’t remember the last time I was at Wahoo’s, so I gave them a try today. The fish taco plate with rice & beans is a pretty reasonable $ 8, and I got white rice & Cajun beans. The fish was OK. The cabbage slaw on top is pretty tasty, and it’s a nice change of pace from places that put tomatoes or cheese on top of a fish taco. The fish, however, is pretty unremarkable. You can tell it’s there, but you can barely taste it, even though I ordered my fish tacos spicy. The rice & beans are also OK, but honestly it was almost too much rice & beans for me. I was only able to eat about half of my side dishes. The service was excellent. Since it was my first time, the person at the register took a little more time to explain the menu. My food came out quicky & someone else even stopped by to check on me. For a casual restaurant, I thought the service was pretty dang good. The fish tacos, however, were a B– for me.

These folks really care about their business. Very friendly and welcoming staff throughout. I was greeted multiple times, checked on how my meal was, checked on again and cleaned up after. Staff catered to me no less than 6 times during my visit. That’s 5 Star service! That’s great management. My food was delicious, and prepared fast and with high quality ingredients. Plus I got a lot on the plate. And that salsa! The facility is well kept, clean, and comfortable.

Wahoo’s is a blend of the southern California surf culture and Baja beaches in the laid back atmosphere of the restaurant. At first you think fast food, but realize the ingredient choices don’t scream high fats or carbohydrates. I saw a lot of protein offered, with healthy choices, such as brown rice, and black beans. The fish tastes fresh, and is not overly deep fried or cooked to a crisp. I’ll definitely start coming here more, and try the other items on the menu, such as burritos and their guacamole. On a side note, Wahoo’s contributes free food to the American Red Cross for blood drives and events, such as Ciclavia. This organization seems to care for its southern California neighbors, which is not a bad thing…

The fish was fresh but I’m not impressed with the seasoning in the steak which is definitely not the way to go. I feel their steak is one of those items that they have on the menu just to have on the menu for«versatility» but there is no star status with that. The tacos were a bit pricey at $ 4 each so I had high expectations. The tortillas were definitely fresh and delicious. Three stars is the final conclusion because I’m not certain I would go out of my way to come back here.

Sadly I must change my opinion of this place. Here’s what happened a few weeks ago. I’ve been a huge fan of Wahoo’s and have been eating at this location for years. I have always recommended this place, eat here regularly, post instagram photos etc and usually love the service. However, after my experience tonight, my opinion has drastically changed due to one of the new servers/cashiers there. I ordered my usual Power Chopper salad — brown rice, grilled fish, tossed with balsamic and the super awesome Green Sauce and the new girl, Viridiana made a face as if she was disgusted. I have been ordering it this way ever since I’ve eating the salad and this is the first time I get this kind of reaction. I shrugged it off and asked if she was new and she replied back«Well yeah but I never heard of it ordered like that» with a snarky attitude. After paying and waiting, I then heard her make a comment with the coworkers thinking that I couldn’t hear her and she said«Well yeah that’s what he ordered, that’s so nasty.» First the face, WHATEVER. And then the comments? Completely unnecessary and disappointing. I have also sent this email to Wahoo’s customer service and have not gotten a reply. I WILLNOT be coming back here.
