I was expecting an MSG nightmare from the outside, but this home-style Chinese place was surprisingly good. Lovely service. You hear the cooks in the back speaking Chinese. Another told me they don’t use MSG here. The beef with broccoli was delish.

Best in the area. My favorite is the almond chicken aww man it’s good! The atmosphere is so calm and the design around the restaurant is very nice and charming. Good amount of food for your money.

I don’t really like Chinese food so I usually get a hamburger and fries. Most excellent I love the seasoning they use. Also got to love the décor

TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. My family has eaten at this place for years and never had a problem. It is very unfortunate that they take care of their customers in this way considering they are not a chain restaurant they are a local Chinese restaurant. I ordered our food and they delivered within an hour. That was great until we got into the bag and noticed there was no rice. No rice? Isn’t this a chinese restaurant? I called and was nice about it and they said they were sorry and asked if I still wanted rice. I told them yes please. They said they would bring it over. 30 minutes went by and still no rice so I called and they told me they had to wait for their driver to come back but our rice was ready and would be the first order to be delivered when he went back out. Ummmm ok my rice has sat there for 30 minutes already. I told them that our food was cold now and we were still waiting for rice. They told me sorry they would get it out as soon as they can. I told them I was very unhappy and asked if they would compensate me in some way since now our food was cold we didn’t have rice and I paid $ 50. The said«owner» woman told me she was sorry that things happen and they had 5 or 6 drivers and as soon as one of them got there they would deliver the rice. She told me she would refund me a whopping $ 10. Needless to say an hour and a half later the rice shows up. To be honest we didn’t even eat it. It was made and hour and a half ago sounds like food poisoning in the making to me. Sad to say we will NEVER eat here or order from here again.

I read some of the other reviews and was a bit hesitant to order from here. I’m glad we did. Prices were very reasonable, phone order for delivery was very pleasant, easy to deal with person on phone. The delivery man also very pleasant to deal with. The delivery itself was given 1 – 1:15 hour estimate and received food in about 40 minutes. The food itself was very tasty, as well as huge portions. From my experience I would recommend to others as well as return myself if in the area.

Do Not I Repeat Do Not do business with these slimy people. Their customer service is abysmal, their delivery orders take over an hour in town, the food is bland at best, and the prices are crazy. Not only is there a minimum order for delivery, they also charge u a delivery fee on top. The cunt that answers the phone sounds like she’s been doing her job for a hundred years and hates it. And don’t order delivery if u want to eat the same day. STAYAWAYFROMTHESESCUMBAGSANDTRY A REALORIENTALJOINTWITHBETTERSERVICE

I just finished a wonderful plate of their house chow mien on pan fried noodles… never tasted anything better in an Asia restaurant. Value is hard to beat as well. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

I don’t understand the low scores… I travel for a living and there are not a whole lot of good Chinese places, specially in this are… I guess if a Buffett type Chinese place is your thing then well, ok… But this place has very good meals.

I ate at the Chinese Gardens when it opened and come back occasionally to try it again. The main reason for me is their egg foo yung. It has never let me down. I always order the same thing. Was there over the weekend and the sweet and sour spareribs were very tough. Everything else was okay. I have bragged to my spouse about the food for years and he was very disappointed. He ordered sweet and sour spareribs and prawns w/sweet and sour sauce.. He did not care for either one. The spareribs were tough and the prawns were soggy and smothered in sauce. Come on Chinese Gardens make it the place it was almost 50 yrs. ago. Service was great and prices were very good for the amount of food. Keep the same décor as it is fun. Gerry S. Grand Coulée area

We just moved here from the MidWest. This is the second time my husband and I have gotten take-out. My husband loved it. I despise it. The first time I had Generals chicken. I am not a picky eater really but it was just terrible-no flavor, just spicy. I actually couldn’t eat it. I told my husband I would try this place again. Maybe it was just me that night. Got sesame chicken. Same thing. Seriously tastes like chicken nuggets covered in bland sauce. I won’t be back to this place. There has to be a decent Chinese place in the Tri-Cities.

Value for Money: 5 stars+ Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Pleasantly surprised by how nice this place was given the reviews. Family get together and we ended up looking for a nearby Chinese restaurant to eat, Unilocal’d this place and it made my 3-star average cut-off. I wasn’t expecting to be blown away, just a quick and homely meal. The prices are extremely affordable,(below $ 10 for many items), which actually scared me because I worried about the quality of the food. What scared me even more was that they had steak on the menu. I’ll be honest, I felt brave and ordered something off the grill and we had various Chinese dishes(Green beans & shrimp, egg foo young, broccoli and beef, etc.). The food was really good, not the best Chinese I’ve had(but I’m spoiled by San Francisco), but definitely decent and the bill was great. Service was quick and friendly. At this point, I was willing to give this restaurant 4 stars, but we decided for nearby drinks afterward and ventured into their dark lounge area right by the entrance. I really like it when a bar is up front about what it’s going to be like. We walked in and felt a bit of a divey vibe and expected cheap strong drinks. We got cheaper and stronger drinks. What really capped off the night was the bartender. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys servicing you and he fell in that category. Jesse, you bumped this place from 4.5 to 5 stars — congrats. 5 star restaurant, somewhere I would definitely try to go back if I was ever back in the area.

This place. Heh. 5 Stars: The atmosphere, bar, drinks, service 1 Star: The food This is a place where I go to have drinks with friends. The bartender is a seriously funny guy, and the drinks are STRONG. And cheap. I love it. Go there to drink — and eat somewhere else. Hated the food. Ordered«fried noodles» and they were waterlogged and bland. General Tso’s chicken had a small portion and was bland. I drank there and then went and scored tacos elsewhere. I don’t think any amount of booze they sell me will convince me to eat there again. If you go for drinks with friends(or by your lonesome if that’s how you roll), Id recommend the scorpion. It reminds me of a rum barbell from Cedars but at like half the price — its big and almost all booze(flavor/alcohol mixture is different). Two is my limit on those, this place is good to have a DD.

I ordered take out yesterday and it was very depressing 1st off i will break down the food. Chinese bbq pork: was cold had no flavor seems like the took pork died it red and called it bbq. I give the pork 0.5 out 5 stars. Special fried rice: very good nice and hot good size chunks of bacon i would recommend it to anyone i know. I give the Special fried rice 4 out 5 stars. Almond Sub Gum Chow Mein with chicken: brutal beat down to your taste buds was hot when delivered but was very soggy and a complete waste of money. I give it a 0.5 out of 5 stars. Sweet & Sour pork: Was the best dish i got very hot when it arrived but had prefect balance of sweet & sour cooked to perfection. I give it 5 out 5 stars. Egg rolls: Hot when it arrived worth every penny spent prefect crunch and size all around great best egg roll ive ever had. I give the egg rolls 5 out of 5 stars. Spring rolls: Was warm when it arrived was probably one of the worst attempts at spring rolls i have ever tasted and ive had safeway take out. i give the spring rolls 1 out of 5 stars. So i am basing my rating on money spent on the quality of food received. I spent a little over $ 30 for ok quality food and was generally disappointed with what i received. All & all that lead me to my 2 star rating. If i would have spent $ 20 instead i would have gave 3 stars but for $ 30 i expected better Chinese food then safeway. I was only wow’d by 2 of the 6 things i ordered. Which begs the question would i recommend it to people. No unless they lived behind the restaurant and had no transportation but i would give them a strong warning before spending there money.

Is it the best Chinese food ever? No. But isn’t bad at all. Especially because it’s the only Chinese delivery place in town. My 2 worst of the 7 deadliest sins: Gluttony and Sloth. I am prone to being incredibly lazy while eating too much food, and I like to do both at the same time. Luckily, Chinese Gardens caters to both my needs with delivery, plus the massive amount of food I always receive. You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need. :D

My husband and I ate here this weekend after not eating here for years. Everything we had was delicious! A lot of people don’t like the dark atmosphere but I dig it. They also served us the best lettuce wraps I’ve ever had. Our server was excellent. We’ll be back.

While the décor is kinda homey, it looks a little dingy and could use some updating. While good, everything was kinda greasy and shrimp was way overbreaded. They have lots of vegetarian choices, iced tea and hot tea both wonderful. The servers were very friendly, and portion size is a lot like most Chinese places. While this place isn’t horrible and will hit your Chinese fix if you are in the area, I just think there are other places in TC that have better food and atmosphere.

Right smack dab in the middle of Pasco, among the taquerias and taco trucks, sits Chinese Garden: a vestige of dining from a bygone era, a shiny jewel wrapped in red velvet with a peppering of 70’s funk. From the outside this place looks like your basic and stereotypical old school American Chinese restaurant. This place isn’t trying to be swanky or stylish. It embraces its kitschy & cool vibe. Came here late one evening with a friend, and thought we might have missed out on dinner. To the right: a fairly empty dining area. To the left: entrance to the lounge(there were definitely people in here with glasses in the air) We were then greeted by our server(I believe his name was Jesse), and he took us not to the dining area in the front, but to the coolness in the back. It was dark in the back. We had a nice half-circle booth(which was upholstered in red velvet or velour — whatever it was it started with a «v», and you know that’s a good sign). Behind our booth was a big ol’ fountain. It was like a big volcano with water falls. Above us, I couldn’t quite tell because of the lack of light, but I could swear there was a big wooden wagon wheel! This place was like a drive at 88mph in a DeLorean back to the 70s. I knew I was going to love this joint. First things first, drinks. Jesse asked what we wanted. We might have taken a gander at their drink list, but since I was sitting at the base of a Hawaii-esque volcano, I opted for a mai tai. My drink was nice and definitely a stiffie. After this we ordered a few plates, the one I remember most is the Orange Chicken. It had just the right spice and was pretty darn tasty. We also had a dish with veggies in it(not vegetarian, because there was some cow in it, but it had the most veggies we could find). The food was definitely decent. I ended up getting another drink and it was good.(note to self: check out the lounge and partake in the imbibery) So, if I’m in the mood for Chinese food, this is where I’m going to go in the Tri-Cities. Love the environment, and Jesse was an awesome & funny dude!

Be realistic. All foods that don’t consist of a menu of hamburgers & french fries have been altered in such a way to cater to the«American» palette. If you’re looking for good, real Chinese food, then you will find it here. The food is prepared very well & ridiculously fast at that. The service is great. The atmosphere is a throwback but it adds to the feel of the entire restaurant, as it does have many, many years of history behind it. It has an easy to find location.
