Great Food and Service! They were happy to accommodate our additional dinner guests at the last minute on a very busy weekend. I was very pleased with the excellent and tasty food, everyone in our party was very pleased as well!

The wedding rehearsal dinner for our son and his fiancée was here on a Friday night. Getting an exact count and dealing with«dietary restrictions» is always a pain, but Eric and the serving staff were great. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the venue is highly recommended for group events.

After reading mixed reviews we decided to give this place a try. There was no host for a few minutes, we started to question if there was anyone working! But they had a very large group in so it seemed all hands were on deck out the back as eventually a host came out and quickly gave us a table. Given the size of the group they had service was surprisingly quick(we ordered before the rest of the group arrived and luckily so). Our server Matt was friendly. Food came out in good time and was very tasty. I had the coconut crusted fish(amazing), hubby had the Argentinian rib eye — tasty chimichurri but half the steak was well cooked, the other half undercooked — not sure how they managed that as it was a pretty even-thickness piece of steak! We had two glasses of the Renegade wine which was lovely. The only annoying thing was their front door. Some poor girl who was dining with a friend had to keep opening the door for the servers because as they came out with a dish in each hand for people who were sitting on the patio they couldn’t open the door to get out! Overall, might come here again. Service was very friendly but probably understaffed. Food was tasty and well priced. Décor is nothing special but if you sit outside you can people watch.

I had a New York steak which was cooked exactly the way I ordered. Friend ordered ribs, they were very tough couldn’t eat. Sent them back and got a new order which she had to take home because they took so long and that order was also tough. They did take the ribs off the bill which was nice. We sat outside and waiter never came and asked us if we wanted more water or another beer. Poor service in my opinion.

We were a party of 8 visiting Paso Robles on memorial day weekend, we were seated promptly Good ambience, Food is ok. However, they really need to work hard on their service.

The staff were all approachable and friendly. Reservations were easy with OpenTable. We went on a random weekday and were so pleased with our visit. There is seating both inside and ok the patio with a full bar. Service was very friendly. The food is good. Nothing over the top. We enjoyed the grilled scallop ceviche and crispy pork sandwich. The ceviche had both mahi mahi fish and scallop in addition to mango pieces. Everything is freshly made and piping hot. They offer white and red wines as well as sangria.

I’ve enjoyed my previous visits put this time the food wasn’t fresh. I really expected more from this place based on my previous experiences as well as reputation.

I usually don’t really eat Latin American food, but my family thought we’d give it a try after a quick glance at the menu! The décor is very western/saloon-style with comfy chairs, and the service is really attentive. We came on a weekday towards the end of lunch hours, so there weren’t too many other people there. – Food – + Carne Asada Tacos: YUM. The carne asada was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. It’s in a sort of DIY style so they separated all the parts of the taco for you to eat however you would like +/-Braised Pork Enchilada: Big portion, came with rice. Pretty flavorful overall — Ceviche: Rather underwhelming. Comes in regular(1 cup) or large(2 cups) + Mussels: Probably the best mussels I’ve ever had. They were super fresh and soft and came in a broth that was so flavorful + nicely toasted bread! Definitely would recommend if you’re in the area!

Service was very friendly as soon as you walk in. The rib eye steak was cooked perfectly. The chorizo and roasted potatoes were very good compliment. My wife’s chicken was moist and tender. Gotta come back…,

While the menu looked exciting I was disappointed when our food was bland and lukewarm. The only highlight I can say was worthwhile was the queso fundido which was very tasty. A couple of us had ordered the shrimp and those were overlooked, chewy and flavorless. The cactus mushroom soup was warm not hot and tastes only of canned salsa verde and very acidic. One of us had the steak which was really good but we were so disappointed in the rest of our meal unfortunately. Definitely not authentic and full of flavor as it should be.

Great food(cheese sandwich could have been a bit more melted). The Chile relleno was fantastic. The wines were so very pleasant as was the bread pudding dessert. Service and atmosphere were fantastic — I love the décor. We were there for lunch on a very rainy Monday.

I went with a group of seven in total. We originally were going to go to Fish Gaucho, but the wait was going to be long. With it already being after 8pm, we left to find a place with not such a long wait. We waited about five minutes for a couple of tables to be cleared off and set. We were seated in the upper alcove, which has a great view is the whole restaurant. The food and service were excellent. They were just out of the wine I ordered, so the server brought me two similar wines to try. The food wasn’t fast, but neither did we wait too long, though since we were a sizable party we did do a lot of chatting. Once we were finished eating, we found ourselves the last ones there as we were so into our discussions. The staff was very kind to us, never signaling that it was time to move along – they were cleaning and setting other parts of the dining room. As it was later in the evening, I had something to nibble on before going out and only go an appetizer to eat. The entrees were sizable enough for two people to split, and those who did not had food leftover. If definitely return.

I was in Paso over the weekend and had a reservation fall through at a restaurant I had planned on. We made the last minute decision to try Estrella and it could not have been a better experience. We were seated immediately and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. We were deciding between wines and were given a taste of both to help. I ordered the mussels which were fantastic. Others in my group had the restaurant month menu with Estrella’s take on shrimp and grits using polenta which was delicious as well. A lovely evening overall and highly recommended.

Ok, Sangria, Jicama Mandarin salad, short ribs and service from bus peeps, managers, waiters and waitresses are unbelievable again, I have to revisit it. This place deserves a Lela thesis. Just go and we’ll chat about it when we go together. SALUTE

We went here on a particularly hot day in spring, with our two dogs, and looked for a dog friendly spot for lunch. The first place we tried closed early so we walked the half block to Estrella. I am glad we did. The staff was so kind and attentive to our dogs, bringing out water immediately for them, and understanding that we had to eat quickly because of the heat. We got two appetizers, one was a seafood ceviche, which I found a little plain, and a soup with roasted cactus, which was so interesting! It inspired me to start putting cactus on the bbq. We split a main course — a pulled pork sandwich. When the server brought it out, I thought she had made a mistake and ordered us each an sandwich, but no, the servings are huge! The sandwich was delicious! Meat was meltingly tender and was on a super-soft brioche bread. Will definitely return!

I first want to say this is a special restaurant managed and staffed by some very special people. The service is nothing short of amazing, very professional and attentive. The owners and staff have created a very relaxing atmosphere exulting a level of confidence consistent with all five star restaurants. The impeccable customer service, a very creative menu filled with culturally accurate cuisine ensures that your experience here at Estrella will be exceptional. Argentinean Grilled Ribeye — a prime cut of aged beef grilled«Pittsburgh Rare» charred perfectly on the exterior with a red slightly warm interior providing a fork tender cut of beef reserving the natural juices accentuating the authentic Chimichurri sauce served elegantly topside. The steak was place on top of portioned seasoned potatoes providing a perfect bed to absorb the natural au jus of the steak. Accompanying the entrée was a roasted corn on the cob drizzled with a thicken butter infused sauce that subdued the natural starchiness of the corn. This meal was a magnificent display of the chef’s creativity. Grilled Mahi-Mahi with Jumbo Mexican Prawns– fresh portioned Mahi seasoned and grilled just until done reserving a translucent texture that can only be captured from fresh catch, this was plated with tender but firm Mexican Prawns slightly charred revealing a hint of smokiness over a bed of long grain rice that was accompanied by a serving of slow cooked tender black beans and the roasted corn. This selection was a perfect combination of complex flavors and textures developed using simple ingredients executed perfectly. Tres Leche Cake with a Blackberry Compote — there isn’t a better way to end a dinner of this magnitude. This traditional milk and cream saturated short cake topped with a semi-tart blackberry compote that carried just enough sweetness to create a surprisingly clean element. I can’t remember ever having a better representation of this dessert. If you find yourself in the area it would be worth your effort to seek out Estrella for that unique dinning experience you deserve.

The chili rellano was delicious. I’m pretty picky with this dish, but I was pleasantly surprised with their take on it. The breading on the deep fry was light and crispy and the sauce was light enough not to take away from the creamy filling! The special for the night was steak and eggs! I thought that was a very creative idea for a dinner special! The steak was tender and cooked just right and the egg was a nice touch to add richness. Fried tomatoes added freshness to the meal. Had the homemade raspberry lemonade sorbet for dessert, soooo yummy! Service was good and the wine selection and drinks were pretty good also.

We stumbled into this place while walking along the Paso Robles city square looking for a place for lunch. Eayrella didn’t come up on Unilocal.I’m glad rhat our first choice was closed. Or else we would not have been introduced to these wonderful place. The place has a casual artsy setting that had a touch of class within. The Orange walls brought a lot of light into the room. While the colorful table napkins reflected the lively atmosphere of the place. I have only admiration to the level of detail that Estrella has putt into the whole. dining experience. The tables were lined with an orangy brown textured leather. The seats were made for much comfort and was veey safe to seat even for our wriggly 2.7yr old toddler. To top everything off! This place has wonderful service and delicious food! We tried their refreshing Ceviche(scallops and fish with mangoes). We tried their Yucca chips that came with a pesto-like spicy dip. Main course was Enchillada, Carne Asada Taco, and a chicken spring roll-like dish(sorry can’t remember the name of the 3rd dish, but I put a picture of it in the photos section). The Enchillada was good. It was filled with beef steak and coupled with spicy mexican rice and soup. It was a delightful amd filling dish. The Carne Asada Taco was a great combination of tender juicy steak cubes, queso fresco, cilantro, chopped white onions, lemon, shredded veggie and chipotle sauce. For me, the soft taco wrap was an optional condiment to the steak. The chicken spring, roll(not the actual name), was a hit with our toddlers. They enjoyed the crispy shell and the marinated chicken within the crispy roll. The guacamole and sour crème completed this dish. We really enjoyed our meal at Estrella and hope we could go back to Paso Robles to taste their dinner menu items!

I came on a Saturday night, and it was pretty empty(30% full). This is usually a red flag for me, but I decided to give it a try given this is low season in Paso Robles. I was glad I did! Service was impeccable. I think we also lucked out because the special that drew us in was duck confit stuffed peppers. We were not hungry(initially), so we wanted to just order two appetizers and then the special. 1. Mussels: We got the small plate, but it was quite large already! About 2 dozen mussels in this delicious creamy broth and perfectly toasted bread. 2. Braised chicken and chorizo taquitos: The chicken was very tender. There are 4 rolled taquitos topped with tons of guacamole, sour cream, and other delicious condiments. This dish was also big. 3. Duck confit stuffed peppers: WOW. Probably one of the best dishes I’ve had in the last few years. The peppers were about 8 inches long, lightly fried for that crispiness. Inside, is a ton of duck meat, stuffed full. All the stuff around the peppers really added to the flavor too. If you go there and they have this dish, it’s not to be missed! Overall, I felt that although the price seemed high, the portions are huge and it’s quite a good deal compared to the other places around the park.
