Very slow. Only one server, sweating and looks exhausted. Disappointed with poor dinner service. We usually come for lunch n have great time. Won’t be back for dinner

Recently moved to SLO and began going to restaurants for lunch. This café looked nice and clean, very rock n roll with trivia all over the walls and music playing. The only problem was the food was awful. Fries were out of a bag, chicken was rubbery, French Dip was brown meat. Extremely over priced. Service was excellent, very attentive, but would never go back, food was really, really bad.

I wanted to take my family out for a fun time and Good Times was top on my list. I wasn’t expecting much from the 50’s diner but we had a blast. Played the jukebox and even danced a little with my daughters. The burgers were really good and everyone liked their meal. Had to top things off with a shake that was done just right! The waitress was nice and everything was better then expected. I would definitely go back and will recommend Good Times Café to others!

I used to like going here when I was a kid because my expectations weren’t as high. The food is completely mediocre. Literally everything you can make at home, especially all the fried foods. They’re clearly from a frozen package. A couple times I gave this place a try, I took a bite into the buffalo chips and had to spit it out because it tasted completely rancid. I’m surprised I didn’t end up getting food poisoning like I’ve heard of some other friends getting from here. This place makes me wish we had a Johnny Rockets instead because the interior design is fun but everything else is lacking. It’s a stretch for me to even give this place 2 stars.

Food is okay here, not to expensive. I eat here from time to time with my friends. My rating is because of the staff, rude and SLOWSERVICE even if we’re the only table in there for some reason they like to stay at the counter up front and never come to your table unless you wave them down or to give you your check.

Next to movies, caters to tourists. Limited parking so plan on walking a bit. Food is mediocre. Menu says items are homemade but fries/onion rings taste frozen. Prices are way too high for what you get. Again, it’s for tourists. Last two times I ate there servers were nice but our table was sticky both times. Ick bI wanted a Clorox wipe to clean the surface myself. Water tasted funny like the ice was bad. Salad was disappointing, burger was so-so and I vowed to stay away. Not a good time at so-called Good Times Café.

Ran into this café while on the way home from Big Sur back to LA. The other stores were closed, so my friends and I arrived to this diner. The interior of the café is decorated well with a 50s vibe — there are wall decors of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, the Three Stooges, and others. There was a jukebox in front, but was out of service. Service did not stand out. The waitress forgot a water and coke for my friend and messed up on not giving fries. Food is easily only 1 or 2 stars. There is nothing special nor unique about the food. I grabbed a chicken sandwich, which was $ 12. but it tasted like something you can make at home. There was some cheese, meat, mayo, and toasted bread. I would have enjoyed some seasoning or sauces that were specifically made by the café. The sandwich would have been worth $ 9, at best. Good Times Café has the 50s style design down, but the food still needs work. A restaurant is about its appearance and its taste. The taste of Good Times Café is the definition of mediocre.

Unfortunately, I’ll probably never come back. To start with, I paid $ 22 for a bacon cheese burger with fries & a chicken sandwich with garlic fries. Way too expensive! Second, it wasn’t that great, the fries we’re soggy, drenched in oil & left a greasy film in my mouth. Chicken sandwich(which was on special for $ 7.99 compared to $ 11.50!!!) Was very small for the price, bland, messy and soggy bread, didn’t even finish it. Husbands burger was messy, everything kinda mashed together, he ate it all, cause he eats everything. But it made me sick even looking at it. The girls working there were super sweet, hence the 3 stars, but 0 stars for the food.

The meat. The meat was another level. The burger was amazing and would recommend to not everyone but only to people to like good burgers.

Fries were grilled to perfection with a nice tangy sauce. Milkshakes were the bomb and it even came with extras in a big cup. Suggest this place to anyone. I don’t know where they got that mayo, but it was superb. Whoever made that thousand island sauce should go on chopped. That lettuce felt like it was handpicked the minute before with that crunch it had to it. Burger was high class with that medium rare quality.

I don’t get the reviews on this place, it’s solid! We love their burgers and salads. The kids are always welcome and service is good. We keep it in the rotation.

This place has got such polarizing reviews… The Good Times Café isn’t the second coming of Christ nor Hell incarnate. It’s just a diner where you can get yourself a no-frills burger in a kitschy environment. Burgers are solid(if a little greasy), fries are plentiful(if a little greasy), and the style can’t be beat(if a little Grease-y). It knows exactly what it is.

So I ate here a few weeks ago because of the gluten free buns. Just a heads up, the fries that come with the burgers are fried with same oil that battered stuff is fried in. Also, the burger is technically NOT gluten free because the seasoning they use on their fries has gluten in it, I was told by the waitress tonight that they had to re-do my burger because the cook uses the same seasoning on the meat.

I walked in and was left standing at the front door with everyone in the restaurant looking at me for a few minutes which seemed like an eternity. Once i was seated, i was asked what i would like to drink while i looked at the menu. A few minutes later the waitress came back to take my order, i didnt get my soda until the food came out. The lack of service is why i took 2 stars from them. I might go back during their slowest time to see how the service is then… maybe.

Clint Eastwood tried to eat here once. Some little punk kid turned him away though because it was ten minutes before closing and he had plans. I guess if you want to get a table make sure you get there before the doors open otherwise you might not get seated. Customer service must not be a thing here…

Nothing special for the price. Got a burger I can get literally 2 doors down for the same price but way lacking in quality. Drowning in mustard. Service was okay. Atmosphere fun for kids. They need to either enhance quality of food or decrease their prices.

Ok my first time here, but won’t be my last service was fast and friendly ! I can see where at times when it’s busy that it might take sometime to get your food. There is one cook and and one server. But the burger and the malt that I had were great! Now with that being said there are only 9 tables and one server so you have to be patient ! Now my server was Chelsea Day ! She was happy and quick ! As I sit and write thins there is only two open tables so you know that the food is great!

Came in for lunch on a Friday, server was a pretty young guy with his hair styled like he was from Grease. He was nice and humored me when I wanted to order from the kid’s menu(I was not very hungry) I ordered the kid’s chicken tenders with french fries. Others in my party ordered burgers and milkshakes. Milkshakes were good but the food seemed previously frozen, nothing I couldn’t make myself at home.
