Our family hired the Shepard company to remodel our kitchen which was built in the eighties. Our cabinets has lost a lot of its luster and finish on the wood stain, plus our Spanish tile floors had never been sealed properly by the original builder, so they were quite grimy looking, even though we had them professionally cleaned on a regular basis. After talking with Jim the owner, we decided to go with a laminate floor to replace the darkened tiles. The project took longer than expected, but that was due to Home Depot continually running out of stock on the materials that we ordered. Once Shepard and his crew had the goods, they quickly got to work on remodeling our kitchen. The dark wood stain on our refurbished cabinets provides a great contrast with the lighter colored laminate flooring. Overall, the experience with the pre-build planning and during the actual construction went very smoothly. Also, unlike many contractors we’ve dealt with in the past, they actually have a full-time staff manning the phones in their office. When you have questions or concerns with your contractor, you don’t want to feel like playing a game of phone tag. We also checked up on Shepard company on BBB, as well as the other contractors we had gotten price quotes from. As of this review, he had zero complaints with the BBB in the last 3 years. That extra peace of mind of knowing that you’re dealing with a professional means a lot when you deal with a high-stress situation like an home-improvement project. We can’t recommend these guys enough. Our new kitchen looks infinitely better than before the remodel. They did a great job on the craftsmanship of the labor, and the customer service was there to back it up when we had questions.
