On Wednesday I had to go to Kohls to get clothes for my son starting new job. I was under a huge amount of stress as he is very tall and the options are limited. By the time I reached check out, I was just wanting to rush and get out. I was then greeted by the kindest and most soft spoken woman as cashier. This sweet lady made the rest of my day. She just had a sweet spirit and you could tell she was sincere about her job. She had no name tag, so I asked… ISABELWASHERNAMEANDSHESTRULY A HUGEASSETTOTHISCOMPANY. I was scrambling for some new clothes before college classes started this week so I decided to try out Kohls. I use to shop here with my mom when I was younger but I’ve never been a big clothes shopper. I was dreading trying things on and of course having to pay 25 – 40 dollars for one shirt. Boy was I wrong! I found SO much shirts, jackets, sweaters, jeans that I actually love! I tried everything on(10+ items) and walked out with 9 of them. Most everything was on sale and I even managed to get a pair of cute earrings to go with my new outfits! I am so excited to start my classes and show off my new clothes haha I will definitely be shopping here from now on.

I called customer service because I thought I was late on a payment. Turns out that there was no payment received for the prior month at all which means I did not receive the bill. The gal was rude. told me that they were there to collect a debt. Didn’t care that I did not receive the bill. Wanted me to pay with checking account — which i will not do over the phone. Would not accept any other form of payment. Told me that she would not remove my late fee or my interest charges. I told her than I would then, make the payment by the bill due date. She told me that my account is delinquent and would make note. My account would not be delinquent if I had received the bill. I manage 5 households, and run my own business. I always pay my bills and this was just rude and unacceptable. I will not shop at Kohls ever again and make sure everyone I know does the same. Whatever happened to the customer is always right?

Gotta love Kohl’s for the fact that you can make out like a bandit if you time the sales, discounts, kohls rewards and kohls cash right! Pretty sure all of their original prices are made up since everything is always on sale, but its all good. Wish there was a bit more organization in the store. Went shopping in the womens section and there were clothes everywhere on racks they didn’t belong on so it was a mystery game when I got to the register how much my total was going to be. Must say the check out girl was great. I didnt have to stand in line and she actually helped me to take advantage of a discount I didnt even know id been sent in my e mail! And she let me keep the hangers-yay!

I am so happy with the service I received from Kohl’s today. I purchased a necklace for my sister-in-law on Tuesday. I brought it home and in the process of cutting the price off, I cut the chain. I was upset with myself. On Thursday, I took the necklace back to Kohl’s to ask for assistance with a repair. The salesman said he would replace the necklace. I told him how I cut the chain, he said, «No Problem.» Now I have a nice necklace to give to my sister-in-law.

Yes is is a big box. Yes it is a chain. Yes there is a sea of asphalt in front of the store. So what does this mean? Well I don’t know but I do know that there are good buys to be had if you shop smartly and search a bit. We Have been happy at this household with the toasters, luggage, bedding and other stuff we have accumulated from Kohl’s.

Decent sized Kohl’s store in Paso Robles. It’s air conditioned, so that’s a win… Otherwise, a typical Kohl’s clothing shop. Large and clean.

Minus two stars just for my last experience… I still love Kohls! And give them 5 stars but this last experience was pretty frustrating and the little gal working the cash register, could have done much better! I was buying my new Shape UP Sketchers which by the way I love! And some other things and was handed my bags… when I got home, I discovered someone else’s bag among my stuff. So I called the store. The Manager who I happen to know answered(it’s pretty bad when you tell them your name and they know exactly who you are… either you live in a very small town or you shop there way too much!!) I told her I had someone’s bag… she knew exactly what I was talking about because evidently the woman had come back looking for it. Soooo obviously I was going to return it and we decided that it was lucky that I had been the one who it had been given to in error and I would return it at my convenience which though not convenient~ I made sure that I returned it the very next day… on my way to going somewhere else, I ran in and the same girl who had made the mistake in giving me the bag, happened to be there. So I ran up smiling and handed her the bag. Guess what she said? NOT ~ OH thank you so much for bringing it back or ~ Sorry for the inconveience… NOPE, not that! She actually told me…“You will have to take that back to customer service to return.” I said in a little tooo«ya gotta to be kidding me tone» «Do YOU remember me and KNOW what THIS is? And she said«Yes» she did but I would have to take it to the back. I basically said«NO, my dear, YOU will have to take it to the back!» And she took it and I think it hit her all at once how inappropriate her response was to me running in and making HER mistake right. Don’t get me wrong, she was very nice just totally clueless. And… as a loyal Unilocaler… I just had to Unilocal this one!

Given my previous experience with Kohl’s in Santa Maria, I wondered where the other nearby locations were. Would it be consistent with the one I first went to? And would it be any different but still worthwhile to go to? Thankfully, the answer to both of those questions was yes. The layout of the store is pretty similar(except for the restrooms, which were located on the far left of the store along with customer service) and carries their in-house and national brands. The sales are the same too, though my family and I bought more from this location because there were too many good deals to pass up. However, there were two downsides to shopping at this location. For instance, when I was in the shoes section, I asked if they had any more in the stockroom of a certain shoe in my size in a different color. The salesperson told me something akin to «what you see is what you get.» Oh well, I didn’t really need the shoes in the first place(I ended up not buying them). So, there are no extras in the back, and if it’s not on the shelf or rack, it’s most likely sold out. The other downside was the in-store price scanners. I tried scanning the barcodes on the items repeatedly(and sometimes madly). Yes, it does give an accurate price, but you have to scan more than once most of the time. Overall, I’m guessing the layout of the Kohl’s stores are pretty much the same… well-lit, separate sections for men, women, kids, shoes, jewelry, and home, and sales. And I like going there because of the consistency and choice. Enough said.
