Salon Roux

I’ve been going here for several years now as I followed my stylist here from another salon. I’ve never been disappointed here, I love it. They’re super nice and welcoming despite me admittedly looking very young contrary to how some other businesses like this might treat someone. It can be expensive depending on what you do but I always say «You get what you pay for!» and that is absolutely what you get here. Professional and beautiful work from the stylists.
I recommend both Rylie and Becca as I’ve had them both and they’re both as sweet as can be and amazing at what they do!

I have seen Josh a total of 3 times. He has a great personality and makes you feel comfortable. I have to say I consider myself a low maintenance girl when it comes to my hair… I dye my own roots to hide the grays and my first visit with Josh was for a haircut. He did a great job, I received several compliments on it. He takes his time with his work and makes sure it’s perfect. The second time I saw him was because I wanted a new refreshed look and opted for color and cut. I was super nervous about the color… like I said I don’t do much to my hair. I have BLACK hair and Josh lightened my hair giving me a gradual fade… I think it’s called a balyage. I walked out of the salon with an uneasy feeling because I thought my hair was too light at the ends. I mentioned it to Josh and he said to give it a day or two and if I decided to tone it down it wouldn’t be a problem. I agreed to test drive the new look LOL but still called in the very next day. I scheduled a new apt. with Josh and he took great care of me once again. He toned it down and I was out of there in less than 30. I appreciate his professionalism and care with my hair. I was never made to feel bad for going back for the hair color adjustment and I LOVE my hair now. THANK YOU JOSH!!!

Best hair salon I’ve been to on the Central Coast. Always does a great job and nice people.

They are not open til 9 pm, they close at 7 Monday through Friday, and they don’t do nails at all, they need to update their Web page. I looked up nail salons that are open late to get a pedicure after work. I drove down there with the website info to find out they only do hair and skin.

Salon Roux is the best salon I have found in a very long time. The atmosphere is professional, but comfortable and friendly, and the entire staff is efficient and committed to customer service.
I have tried 3 different hair stylists who all did a great job on my challenging and very curly, normally grey hair! Ashley Hammond is my favorite, she is consistent, on time, and always careful to be sure she gives me what I want with my hair.
Amy is the BEST waxing person I have ever experienced, she is always on time, and she is quick and almost painless.
I am SO thankful to have found Salon Roux! Thanks all, GREAT job!

All I can say is WOW!
I was recommended by a close friend to get my first brazilian wax done here, so I thought I’d give it a try.
When I first walked in Amy was a little behind but the woman at the register offered me water and to either look around the store or wait in the waiting room, so I walked around a bit. A lot of the clothing in the store is a bit pricy but the services they offer aren’t. ESPECIALLY for the quality of work they do.
I had the most amazing experience with my first EVER brazilian wax and all I can say is, I am definitely going back because of the service and because Amy is SO wonderful! I called kind of last minute hoping for an appt opening and unfortunately they didn’t have any, but they said they would call me if there were any cancellations. Thankfully they had one and I was able to fit right in before my trip to Hawaii.
Trust me I was nervous going into my first brazilian wax, but Amy reassured me through the way she was able to make me feel so comfortable and answered ANY questions I had (and that was quite a few considering I knew nothing about waxing). We even had wonderful conversation beside just waxing, which was nice because it was more personable. I will definitely be going back because of the amazing professionalism and expertise Amy had with my very first time getting a brazilian wax.

Almost 6 months have gone by and I never heard back from either the stylist or the owner. Extremely poor customer service. My hair can almost be styled with a brush after being cut so short in a manner that was totally wrong for my type of hair. Luckily found Lyndsay at Faces a LA Mode in SLO that worked wonders with what she had to work with.

Andi is amazing! I did a series of dermasweeps and my face was great… fresh and smooth. It took off 5 years of dead skin. I highly recommend it.

I got to Lauren D. And she does an amazing job on my hair, I get compliments all the time (she gives me high lights and low lights). My hair has never been healthier. She really takes care of your hair

If you have a child with you don’t even think about walking through the door! I had a 45 minute appointment in a private room and brought my 7 year old son with me. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would send the salon into a state of utter (and rude) panic over walking through the door with a nearly silent, extremely well mannered, occupied with an ipad 7 year old who has spent most of his life being quiet in the corner at things I have had to drag him to. I had to have someone come and pick my son up from the salon immediately. Mind you the only person he could have ever bothered in the private room was me and I am the one that elected to bring him!!! I had to hear over and over again it was just against salon policy to allow a child in the salon. I will NEVER set foot back in there again!

This is a long overdue review… The team at Salon Roux is amazing! I have been going to Cinamon and Ashley for the past few years. Though I moved out of the area a number of years ago, I still make the 3.5 hour drive to Salon Roux. Ashley always does an awesome job on my super long hair, and will try and fit her schedule around my somewhat last minute requests. Cinamon has been styling my hair for over ten years now. She has fixed my multiple coloring mistakes (note to self– highlighting your own hair is never a good idea) with skill and care. She is literally the only person in the world I trust enough to say just go for it– knowing I will absolutely love what she does. I highly recommend Salon Roux!

I don’t know about you but I’m super picky about my haircuts and color. Becca was absolutely the best! I created a profile here just because I am so happy w the results ! She knew exactly what she was doing and gave me realistic feedback about what I wanted. She had lots of helpful hints about styling and maintenance for my hair. She had helpful suggestions about what products to use but wasn’t pushy about purchasing them. And while generally I walk out of a hair appt thinking «it’s ok », I walked out today feeling amazing !

I honestly can not say enough good things about Salon Roux. I feel awesome every time I leave that place. Jacque has a BEAUTIFUL showroom. Her taste is exquisite.
I have been getting my hair done by Cinnamon for about 13 years now. I LOVE the way she does my hair. No one has been able to replicate the coloring. Every cut she does is perfect, whether it is a short cut or a layer job. Love this place!

I had a fantastic experience today getting partial highlights and a trim with Margaret. I thought the price was extremely reasonable for such a gorgeous salon and experienced stylist. In addition to giving me a beautiful color and cut, Margaret took extra time to style my hair beautifully and add a shine gloss. I live in NYC but would definitely come back if I visit Paso again. My only criticism would be that, while I requested that the highlights be as natural as possible, I think the stylist could have been a little bolder with the color, since the highlights only barely lightened my hair at all.

When you go there, look for Bri! She is the best stylist!!! I met her a few years ago through friends at an event, and I heard someone commenting that she was the best stylist. Then of course, I booked an appt with her and I have been a faithful costumer for a few years now! I have long, curly hair that gets dry at the ends… She has been doing my highlights and I ALWAYS get comments on them! I just recently cut my bangs with her and I’m quoting my husband’s comment «this is my favorite hair cut on you since we’ve met!!» Seriously, he can’t shut up about it! Bri is talented and knowledgeable and she will give you the best experience + honest feedback on what will look good on you!

Amy is the Central Coast queen of the Brazilian wax. Don’t even try anywhere else, I have been to them all and Amy is by far the best. She uses soft wax and strips (none of that flick flick hard wax hell), finishes in a half hour, and is very thorough. Best of all, she waxes it ALL, and I mean all… I mean, who wants a smooth muffin and a hairy bootie, right? Not me.
The rest of the salon seems excellent too, although they recently removed the seating area in the reception in favor of adding a bunch of ugly jewelry, which is only mildly annoying because I don’t have to wait for Amy, she’s always right on time. :-)

Salon Roux is great. All the hair stylists are excellent and Jacque the owner is wonderful!

Every time that I walk into this salon I have a great experience.
I get brazilian and full leg waxing done by Amy. She is an absolute expert (especially with those tricky brazilians) working quickly and efficiently to get beautiful results. I will go to no one else else now for my waxing.
Last week Amy gave me my first facial, that left me so relaxed and radiant. I’ve been battling acne for 20+ years now, and Amy’s suggestions were very helpful.
I have only had one hair treatment done in the salon, so far, by Cinnamon. She is a truly wonderful person, as well as a professional stylist.
Jacque, the owner/​manager, is always very friendly and welcoming. I feel more like a guest in their home rather than just a salon client. The prices seem reasonable, and I do feel as though the staff truly cares about my experience in their salon.
I do go to other places for my haircuts, and pedicures. However, this is ONLY because I am a loyal, longtime client of those professionals, and happy with their services… thus no need to change. If by chance they move away or retire soon, Salon Roux will be the first place I’ll go.
I would highly recommend Salon Roux to anyone, whether you’re new in town, visiting, or just looking for a new salon. :)

I love this salon… very upscale… reasonably priced for area… my two daughters and I personally see Riley… love her… very skilled and listens to what you want. Staff is all very friendly. They won battle of the salons in 2010 and they were also voted one of the top 200 salons in AMERICA… think about that next time you’re looking for a salon. :-)
