I’ve never enjoyed every single wine in a tasting as in Le Cuvier. I was surprised by the food pairing they do with each wine they make you taste to appreciate each wine even more. Loved all of them specially the L’ Enfant du Pape, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and unique chardonnay. Definitely going back and bringing friends with me.

For discriminating tastes and fans of european vintages-Le Cuvier is a must-see destination. Tasteroom fellow Scott Holt is witty and his sense of humor is infectious. By far our favorite of of the day, with stories about vintages in their tasting room literature instead of boring and overused wine terminology– this place offers a palacial view and respite from the hum drum.

There’s nothing stuffy about this place even though their Malbec, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and, most especially, Chardonnay knocks your socks off such that they have every right to be stuffy. Without missing a beat, we instantly needed a case of the Chardonnay. And we aren’t Chardonnay drinkers!!! Yes, Viognier, Rose and Albarinos, but not Chardonnay. Their Chardonnay will convert you too. Plus, the food they pair the wine with is equally to die for. They had something that was new to me — l’enfant du pape. It’s a beautiful blend that is consistently powerful. Their staff was awesome too.

So we stumbled onto this winery by compete accident. On my way to Daou, a horrid experience btw, we saw this winding road and rolled the dice. We were greeted by the tasting room manager, Scott, at the door and he walked us from the parking lot through our entire tasting. Most times I have found tasting room personalities could be overbearing, but Scott handled my wife and I as if we were old friends. I can not actually stress how fantastic he was. The wines were paired with fabulous dishes. Our pallets exploded with a beet butter and the red Cabernet blend. I actually feel as if I’m rambling so I will cut to the chase. My wife and I are members. Thank you Scott. We are so damn excited!

Mo was a fantastic pourer yesterday! Her personable service was a great complement to the delicious wine and food pairings we enjoyed here. There wasn’t a single wine we tasted here that we didn’t like, every SINGLE wine was fantastic, to the point that we joined the wine club. The driveway is a little sketchy, go slow up the hill to avoid a head-on with oncoming cars. Once you DO get up the hill, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the whole region. If you’re looking for a winery to WOW you with their quality service, and to enchant you with their quality wines: go to Le Cuvier. You’ll fall in love just like we have. And make sure you ask for Mo when you get there.

Tucked away in the hills off the beaten path. You must stop here if you are in the area. The pairings are perfect! Just ask for«Mo»!!

Attractive location offering beautiful views! Oh, how I’d love to enjoy the surroundings from one of the Adirondack chairs. Their tasting fee is $ 15 for a taste of 4 wines(impressively served in big, stemmed wine glasses) and wonderfully paired with 4 small bites. The fee is waived with purchase. We left with their 2012 Chrysos and 2015 Pentimento. The wines were very good; the food pairings added to our enjoyment; and the person pouring for us made our experience even better — she was knowledgeable, personable, quick-with-the-wit, and entertaining! Great place, great time!

Stopped in Friday afternoon, what a treat. AMAZING wines, little food paring, and gentleman pouring knew his stuff. Great reds. I will be back.

This is one of my all time favorite wineries in Paso. They also earn extra points in my book because they serve small bites with their wine. Most wineries do cheese pairings, but I do not know any other wineries that serve what Le Cuvier serves! I had visited this winery about 3 years ago, and it has stuck in my mind ever since. I re-visited the tasting room the other day, and it was just as fabulous as I remember. Very interesting wines, friendly staff, And always helpful! I did not feel pressured to purchase wine, and all of my questions were answered. I do not belong to a wine club but I have a feeling this would be the first one I will belong to.

We stopped in on a recommendation from a friend because they had tapas with the wine. If you can imagine enjoying a little sip of wine with tapas designed just for the wine that you are tasting. Not just some food thrown together but actual gourmet food made to pair perfectly with each sip. WOW! This place is a 5 star because if serves excellent tapas paired perfectly with each wine that they pour. The view is amazing and the wine bar servers are just kind and informative. A place worth checking out during your next visit to Paso Robles.

This is probably my favorite wine in Paso. Their wine is spectacular. But what makes the wine tasting even better, is the food pairing that comes with it. With every wine you taste, they’ll give you a small bite to complement it. This was our second time wine tasting here. The first time was five years ago. There was a gentleman who helped us with the wine tasting and the food pairing. He was incredibly well knowledge. I think he was a veteran. Unfortunately he isn’t there anymore.

This place is perfect! The wine was some of the best in the area. They do food pairings with their tastings for only $ 15, which really makes the experience that much better. The grounds and views are wonderful and picturesque. This is a must stop in the area!!! Shout out to Katie who took care of us!

Gorgeous winery overlooking the mountains. Had a wonderful tasting with Mo, which included a food pairing for only $ 15. Tasting fee waved if you bought a bottle. The wine was awesome and we had so much fun at the tasting. We took our last glass of wine to the lounge chairs that overlook the view and really enjoyed that. I hope to come back on my next trip!

It’s so easy to get winery points from me when you have a nice view. Being able to kick back, meet new people, drink wine, and take in the natural beauty of SLO county all at the same time?! Priceless. The service was very friendly, and everyone I met that day was super nice. Maybe drinking wine on top of a mountain makes you happier than drinking wine at the bottom. The standard tasting price comes with a small sample of food that pairs with each wine. In my experience many places will have an offer like this for an added fee so I appreciate this. Our favorite is the Red Bat Cuvée. If you like a good cab it shouldn’t disappoint.

GREATWINES! You can skip ALL the rest! Though they only make and sell a limited amount of wine all but the 2011 Granache were fantastic. They make some of the best cabs in California. I was surprised their wine club has opened up and highly recommend it. We enjoyed a private tour of the winery, library included!

We only had enough time to go to one winery and after extensive Unilocaling, this is what we decided on and it was definitely worth it – this winery is so beautiful! It’s on top of a hill and has a beautiful view, which you can enjoy while sipping wine and relaxing in their adirondack chairs. We went on a weekday so we were the only ones there for our tasting and the woman who helped us was so friendly! She knew everything about the wines and the little bites of food they were paired with(which were all delicious). The wines themselves were very good – we liked the Cabernet Franc the most and ended up buying a bottle of it, which they collapsed the tasting fee into the purchase, so that was nice. After our tasting she told us we could stay on the property for as long as we like, and I if we weren’t on a time crunch we probably would have – you could definitely spend an extremely relaxing afternoon here. If you’re passing through Paso Robles and only have time for one or two wineries, I would suggest this one-you won’t regret it.

This is our first stop. We were told that they don’t ship to the large stores/markets. So, basically, you can only get their wines here. The tasting is $ 10, but the fee is waived if you purchase a bottle. We sampled 5 varieties: the Chardonnay, Malbec, Syrah, Pentimento, and Zinfandel. Each wine came with a food pairing, which I really liked. I thought the Chardonnay was the best one, which is saying a lot because I’m more of a red wine person. It’s not typical in color as it was more golden and more flavorful than the average white one. The Malbec tasted better with food pairing because it brought out the flavor. The Zinfandel was too sweet and the they Syrah too strong. We contemplated buying a Chardonnay, but decided not to. Service was slow, but that’s understandable since there was only one person working and he was pouring and selling.

The winding drive from Paso Robles to get here is beautiful, the view from the winery is spectacular. You will find yourself at an elevation of 2000 ft. gazing down at the gentle golden hills and green valleys that are also the home of historic San Miguel. This is assuredly a trip that starts off well and only gets better. Their wines are exquisite. For an occasional drinker like me, that statement is truly a rarity. This winery has found my Achilles heel. Their’s is a small family operation with limited cases of pure California nectar. When they’re gone, they are gone. The wines are NOT inexpensive, ranging around $ 40 – 50 ea., but it is the taste that puts them in a class all their own. Fine jewels. Love those flowery wine notes. But the club price is about 20% less. So we promptly joined their wine club and brought home two each, all 2010 vintage, of the Cab Franc(available to members only due to only 150 cases available), Cab Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and L’Enfant du Pape without a second thought. Because we did buy, our tasting fee was waived. But based on what I now know, I would not hesitate to pay regardless. $ 10 for tasting, add $ 5 for the food pairings. Well worth it, it was a memorable treat. I loved their chef, Cheryl Kiest, who cheerfully waved at me through a large picture window from her professional kitchen. She then came out to chat for quite some time. She is a delightful, creative lady with an captivating background, 37 years of teaching high school English Lit and composition, with enthusiastic dabblings in music and theater as well. Chefdom is her third career and one for which she is well suited. The rosemary cheese thumbprint cookie topped with a fig blueberry chutney was so good I had to restrain myself from grabbing the entire platter. It was paired with the Cab Franc which just happened to be my favorite wine. The good news for me, and you too, is her recipes are on their website. Ahhhh. I may not know wine as well as some, but apparently I seem to have expensive tastes. This is an enthusiastic recommendation to come and enjoy the full experience. P. S. And while you are up there, the next stop is Adalaida Winery. Leave plenty of time to add this to your plans for the day.
