This place is pricey but so is every place in P town. The food is good and they have so many things to choose from. I was unhappy with a dish and the owner came over and personally took care of me. He even gave us a complementary desert because of it. I will definitely be coming back!

Probably the best sushi I’ve had in New York. Delicious food, great original cocktails, a beautiful, spotless interior and a courteous, competent wait staff. What more could you ask for? I’ve eaten here twice now, both of which were great experiences. The first time we ordered some pork dumplings as an appetizer, which were delicious. The portion size was a little small but mostly expected for the price. For dinner we had the Christmas roll and the Ciresi roll. Both of them were fantastic and the portions, while not huge were generous enough. I certainly didn’t leave hungry. The Christmas roll was one of most interesting, delicious flavor combinations I’ve encountered, and the Ceresi was a pretty unique take with the seared filet mignon. I really couldn’t praise this restaurant more highly. There is literally only one criticism I have, and it’s a pretty silly one: the straw that comes with your drink is shorter than the glass it comes in which is pretty annoying. Beyond that, there isn’t a single bad thing I could say.

A nice addition to Patchogue. LOCATION: near Emporium, down a side street off the Main St in Patchogue. DECOR: very nice inside. Large restaurant with a lot of seating. Dark wood walls and floors, not dressy but not casual either. FOOD: ordered the special Paradise roll that was about $ 14. Not sure if it was really worth $ 14, it was really like a reg size roll, maybe a bit bigger. But it was quite good, it had fried banana, spicy lobster, mango sauce, etc. that gave it a salty yet sweet combo in flavor. I really liked it. Most of their reg rolls are around $ 6, they seemed to be standard size. SERVICE: waitress was friendly and efficient. Everything came out pretty quick. I would probably return for dinner again, but it is a bit pricey compared to some other sushi places I frequent.

Super cool restaurant right off Main St. In the heart of Patchogue. Patchogue has really made a lot changes and progress in the last few years and this place fits right in. The décor is beautiful and grand, but still hip and chic. There is tons of seating, tables and booths, and a bar as well. I have been only 2x but both times were really good. First time party of 4, second time party of 6 and everyone left super happy. Some stand out dishes are the seaweed salad, vegetable gyoza, and the pan fried Soba noodle with veggie dish. their shrimp tempura came with mango on the inside, which was a nice surprise. Definitely go check this place out.

Absolutely loved the interior of this Patchogue«modern» Japanese bar/lounge/restaurant. It’s beautiful to look at but seating is cramped and uncomfortable. We each ordered sushi and found the rolls to be skimpy and unimpressive. Salmon and tuna rolls were small, the rice unseasoned and the seaweed was a tad off tasting. The eel cucumber roll had lots of cucumber but practically no eel. California roll had crab and avocado, but no cucumber. The nigiri portions were a joke as well. I could come here for drinks at the bar some time but not again to eat. Service was very courteous. Prices for quality and quantity are certainly not on par. Good for drinks and atmosphere but not for food.

Beautiful restaurant. Unassuming exterior gives way to a stunning interior. This place is spotless too. I sat at the bar and ordered the peppered tuna appetizer and the Ocean Ave roll. Both were delicious. The tuna appetizer was a little small for the money but it didn’t disappoint on flavor. The Ocean Ave roll was phenomenal. Sapporo on tap was nice too. They close between 3 – 5 so keep that in mind.

Really cool sushi bar! Rolls and entrees were wonderful as was the service. Slightly pricy compared to sushi places in strip malls scattered on the island, but you pay for atmosphere I guess. Great happy hour tho! If you’re in Patchogue and want a trendy sushi restaurant this is it!

So, Saturday night 8 pm, place was packed. We had a reservation & was seated at a small 2 top table in a busy area. Not pleased with the table but the place was really busy. Started with Miso soup, which was ok. Spoon so small took forever to eat! Filet Mignon appetizer was really yummy! Bit of a spice to it. Dazed & confused cocktail was very good, an interesting mix! Main course, I had the Paradise roll & Boston roll, very good… So stuffed! My husband had the Magic roll & spicy crunchy tuna and 2 pieces of sashimi. He was very impressed . Now to the service. Just OK. 2 stars… Waiter never checked back to see how the main course was and to check on drinks. Plus our soy sauce was empty, had to flag down another server. Be a bit more attentive to your customers & we probably would’ve ordered desert and stayed a while more . Private room in the back near the bathrooms, so constant flow of people coming in. We will probably give this place another try, just need a better table not in the runway with all the traffic lol — I gave this review 4 stars just because the food was that good! Step up the service Taiko!

Went here for lunch. The food is decent enough, though the fact it’s modern takes on Japanese cuisine makes it incredibly similar to Hoshi in Patchogue. The one thing Taiko has going for it is the building itself. Suuuuper duper upscale, looks like something straight out of Manhattan. Go there early in the day and get a bento so you avoid the trashy, late-night crowd.

Excellent sushi and great service. The staff is on their game with timing and knowledge. Drinks are great too, try the dazed and confused as well as the sunrise highway cocktails.

Reserved Taiko on my visit to fire island. The food is so fresh and yummy, they even have live uni when we were there. The sashimi, oysters and salad is also delicious. The biggest surprise is they served an ice cream cake to celebrate my girlfriend Sophie’s 21st birthday. That is truly sweet and we really appreciate that. In general, 5 star food 5 star service and acceptable price compared to nyc. Strongly recommend when visiting Long Island.

I must say this place looks pretty cool on the inside. Kind of city like if you will. The bar is big and the tubes hanging above it are a nice touch to the décor. This place is not for the private types as the seating is pretty wide open with not many dividers. The food we tried was good, sushi rolls, rock shrimp, some sashimi. The highlight of the night was the cocktails, this place seems to know how to make a really fine drink which is rare these days. Had a great time here and will be back. If you are here, check out the bathrooms and the back hallway, reminds me of a Morimoto feel… Upscale for Patchogue I will say!

This place is pretty serious… It’s gorgeous interior makes you want to have a few drinks and relax while noshing on some of the best sushi you will ever have… A friend introduced me to this place and I have recommended it to so many as well. It reminds me of a smaller Tao from NYC … Anyway, down to business… Last night, we ordered the king crab avocado(omg, how fresh and delicious! Nice large chunks of crab and the best, ripest avocado I’ve ever had), toro carpaccio(rarest, most amazing taste of tuna encasing some crabby mixture, extremely tasty and highly recommended), lamp chops!(2 lollipop lamb chops– the perfect rare bite and a nice change up in the taste factor, get it), the green river roll(crispy lobster and avocado. Need I say more?), shrimp fried rice! and the sushi and sashimi for two. Everything was amazing! This place is good for a date, parties of 4 or even more(large party)… $ 190 for all of the food and two rounds of drinks for 3 people…

Awesome local spot for upscale sushi, and new creative versions you haven’t seen on every other menu. Expect to say whoa when you walk through the door, the décor is impressive to say the least. They have it sectioned off nicely into a few different atmospheres and you’ll be sure to enjoy each one. The service is almost too spot on as the waiters were hovering just over my girlfriends shoulder. This made me feel almost awkward as she was clearly listening and staring at the back of her head. This is quite the common experience in sushi spots but it sorta bugs me. The second experience wasn’t as bad and made me think it’s not the worst thing to have that over attentive service after all. Immediately after picking up the drink menu for the first time we knew what was going to be quenching our boozy thirst. 360 sangria(their special white sangria with lychee and I dnno what, yummy) And the blushing tiger! All my girlfriend needed to hear was passion fruit, and all I needed to hear was lychee, this drink was fantastic!!! First visit we tried the Bao, pork and duck, both were good, little skimpy on filling but the duck wins out. We tried the cerisi roll and the green river, both were good! We skipped dessert as it didn’t seem too appealing for us. We’ve been back(actually just left) and on Tuesdays we get to try a free mimosa of your choice with the dinner order(the lychee mimosa was my fave as the other two were pretty sweet) my girlfriend enjoyed it as well as the white peach. The Tuna pizza was amazing, tender as can be. I was shocked my girlfriend tried it let alone loved it. She’s been getting more adventurous! The sunshine, and paradise rolls are both great, the paradise is packed with an ooey gooey banana punch, and the sunshine roll… The Sunshine roll is one of our all time faves! A few things we don’t like and would never order from here, the Yaki Udon… More like yucky udon; I don’t know what it was but all four of us pushed it away. I hated the over mushroomed smell, and we all agreed it had a smokey unpleasantness. If I want udon I can go just about anywhere else and have a tastier time. Don’t order the Udon if you’re expecting something like you’ve had before. The duck breast appetizer; while this wasn’t terrible, I didn’t think it was great either. My gf didn’t like it at all and the seaweed underneath wasn’t the good edible kind, it was the polluted, rubbery, smiths point kind. Ick. Definitely not what I’d choose to spend ten bucks on in the future. The Christmas roll according to my mother, her first bite her face paused and she thought something was bad in it, second bite she said was better, but I could tell after she only had half that her lobster or something was a little funky and she wasn’t a fan. My suggestions on special rolls are the paradise, cerisi, green river, and the SUNSHINE! I’m sure there are more but this is all we’ve tried so far, we will be back! Also try the often overlooked smaller rolls like peanut avocado and tuna cucumber — these are cheap and tasty additions to round out the meal. Every night is a fun new special, be it sake samplers, mimosa Tuesday’s, or sangria, there is a special. It’s a beautiful new spot and I’m glad it’s here in my hometown. It’s a bit more than your average spot but it’s really very good! My one complaint I think is that while all the rolls sound exciting, 90% have shrimp. I love shrimp, but maybe give me some more options? Check out the menu and see what you like, I’ve had my bad apples but there is so much awesomeness to choose from. I can’t wait explore the menu even more and to try their shumai as I love ordering that with a light pan fry.

I very rarely give 5 star reviews, but I feel Taiko deserves it, or at least 4.75. The sushi is the most important– absolutely divine. Everything fresh, excellent selection. They had me at wild king salmon. I also got a lovely assortment of sushi including: fluke, striped bass, toro, tobiko(1 with quail egg), and uni. I very rarely do this but I went back for more and ordered 2 more tobiko and 1 piece of unagi. The sushi was fantastic. Unfortunately they didn’t have tamago! The unagi might have been just a touch too crispy on the edges, but that’s just me being very picky. The rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly in my opinion. The fish was placed and cut nicely and the amount of rice was just perfect. It was really expertly constructed sushi. They even put wasabi on your nigirizushi which was just superb. You can tell a good sushi place by whether they choose to do this. Perhaps I am old fashioned but I missed oshibori, or the hot/cold towels a traditional sushi place would give you to wipe your fingers before you eat. Though the interior is just gorgeous, unique, and intriguing I suppose this isn’t too big of a con. The circular tables in the middle looked very intimate, and the elevated booths on the side, which we sat in, were spacious and comfy. The service was excellent. Our waitresses were attentive(it was kind of slow for lunch on a Saturday) and always friendly/smiling. I noticed once she went to refill my cup of sake but I had already had the bottle in my hand and was pouring, but it was great that she was attentive and the gesture was there. I highly recommend this place and would most definitely choose it over Hoshi down the block, which I have eaten at a couple times before. Taiko’s sushi is excellent. Having wild fish is wonderful and so much better for you than farmed fish– I wish more places would offer this. I know for sure I am coming back here. The only downfall is the price, but it’s similar to typical sushi prices and the quality, selection, service, and décor make it all worth it. Well done!

Let me start off by saying this place is absolutely gorgeous! My mom and I came here on a Friday evening. The entire meal was high class all the way. The wait staff’s attention to detail is impeccable. As soon as we sat down there were already chopsticks on the table, a lit candle, and serving dishes for sauces. My water was even served in a wine glass and they brought me an extra glass just for ice! I ordered the Maki C and my mom got the Chilean Sea Bass. The food was fresh and delicious! The prices were also pretty reasonable for a sushi spot. There’s nothing bad I can really say about this place. The ambiance is great and you feel transported straight to Japan. The décor really makes the place feel authentic and the staff is friendly. I definitely recommend coming here!

Wow! This place is steps from my house and yesterday was the first time I’ve been here. What was I waiting for?! First off, this place is b-e-a-U-tiful inside. Lots of tables, spacious round booths, a bar, and a sushi bar to sit at make for a nice dining experience where you’re not right on top of other people while they eat. The menu has something for everyone, including if you’re dining with someone who isn’t particularly a fan of sushi(blasphemy, I know…). They offer TONS of specialty rolls, we ordered the Patchogue roll, the Christmas roll, and the Ocean Ave roll. All were insanely delicious but my favorite has to be the Christmas roll. Lobster tempura inside with avocado on top. There was more going on than that, but that’s all I can recall. The Patchogue roll was also delicious; crab meat roll with pepper tuna on top. YUM! My table also ordered a chicken teriyaki with chicken fried rice(bangin’) and the Tri-Color which was a mix of sushi, sashimi, and a salmon/tuna roll. The fish was SO fresh… it melted in your mouth. That’s how sushi should be served. Not to mention, the presentaion on all plates made my eyes just as hungry as my belly. The service was good, dessert was delish, and the drinks were on point. Couldn’t have asked for a better first time here! I’m very much looking forward to my next visit.

First let me say wow the service was on point. Whatever we needed our server was there, to the point that even If I took a slip of sake she was there to refill it. The inside is beautifully done and as lame as it sounds I felt a little fancy being there. Although we sat at one of the booths inside, I loved that they had the option to sit in the opened area by the front to get the feeling on sitting outside. I ordered The Magic and yum. Overall I can’t wait to go back.
