Mediocre at best. Should have pulled away when the place was dead empty. Got a gyro to go quick and to me at least seemed like it had been sitting awhile. Pita soaked through and meat was crunchy(burnt) and not hot. Stopped going here after having it out with an employee about a year ago. Decided to give them a try and regretting it.

Have been getting takeout here for years. As another poster reported, check your credit card statement. They’re credit card machine wasn’t working after several attempts and i had to pay cash. Got a notification from Chase bank that the charge was processed. Hopefully just an isolated incident.

Location/parking is a mess. Have been witness to numerous fender-benders while eating, and that, I guess, serves as the entertainment here. Others may be interested in the harshly-lit lottery screen in the corner… OK food; not a lot on the menu for vegetarians. Their falafel is bland, as is the Tzatziki sauce for same. The falafel was so dry that I was barely able to utter a cry of «water!» to a disinterested staff member. Dining companions reported same for gyro, lamb, iskender dishes. The help is efficient, but sometimes I’ve felt like wait staff were going to clandestinely pass me a note reading, «Help! I am imprisoned here and am forced to work as a slave to evil masters. Please notify the authorities» as their demeanour was so strange. It’s not a Turkish thing, as I’ve known and worked with many Turkish. Must be the management, who are anything but welcoming. Gruff, in heated conversation on the phone that may be overheard at the tables, etc. Strangest thing was their stuffed grape leaves; overpowered with allspice/cinnamon to the exclusion of all other culinary or olfactory nuance. Looking for a better place in the area.

Great food. Great prices. Great atmosphere. Very friendly. The owner goes to the market everyday to pick out fresh food for his customers; definitely makes a difference in the quality of the food. Highly recommend.

I have to say the food was good. A place I might have gone back to eat but they charged my card twice. Now when I went in I was approached by the owner Jeff and asked me if I wanted to order. I had said we have a error from Friday I wanted to talk about. Jeff said oh we spoke on the phone about it. I said this is my first time bringing this to your attention. He said no we spoke on the phone. He continued to argue. My intention was to talk about the error but he never let me speak. He was very irritated. I said I can not believe that you are speaking to me this way and I’m your customer looking to solve a discrepancy. This review is not about my bill of $ 35. It’s about the quality of owner who has absolutely no respect for his customers. I will never go back to this place. By his response to me about speaking on the phone when we never did makes me feel like this is not the first error like this. My suggestion bring and pay by cash or you will be approached with an irate owner.

I use to love this place. Haven’t been there in years until last night… The small bar that use to serve customers looks like someone’s office… Papers, books, boxes everywhere. The wine shelf is empty and the beer taps don’t exist! It just looks unwelcoming… When I asked what happened they replied they are moving soon… I do not see any need for the mess! I ordered my favorite(from years ago) the Anatolian special… For $ 23 so upset! Dry, dry, dry! My sons ordered two Shish kabobs, dry, dry, dry! Very upset. I will try this place one more time bc I knew it when it was good but if it doesn’t change I will never waste my money and time…

We’ve been coming here for years and are always happy. They have great little lunch specials and fantastic appetizers! I almost always get grape leaves(among the best I’ve ever had) which a hint of a sweet spice flavor, excellent dipped in yogurt sauce. The falafel is slightly crispy, always flavorful, and also is great with yogurt sauce(I prefer it to tahini sauce, but that is good too). The BESTTHINGEVER on the menu is their red lentil soup, which I could eat every day! Try it with a squeeze of lemon. We order the double-large size for take-out, and tastes great with whole wheat pita dipped in it. The employees are nice but not overly-friendly. Our orders are almost always accurate and timely. I highly recommend!

I feel I need to update my old harsh review. I said some things at the time that isn’t exactly in line with the way I feel about them years later. I still feel let down from time to time as I think they charge too much for what you get. Now, what you get isn’t bad, in fact, a lot of what you get from Pita house is quite good. I think their yogurt sauce is on point now, where I used to think it was a bit thin. I still think they have some of the best tasting lemon chicken soup. The lahmajun is delicious, as is their bulgar rice. The gyros are good but not great, and they charge too much. The yogurt sauce on the side will run you 75¢ and the stuffed potato balls, while good, are $ 7 for two, and they are usually a bit burnt. I like it that way anyway but I think that’s a buck too much really; or give a third and charge $ 9. The least they could do is throw bread or pita into an order over 20 – 25 bux like other places might. That’s just my two cents but, the worst thing about this place is they’re just never all too friendly. It feels like they just care about your wallet and if you don’t like it, tough.

We have been going to Pita House for well over a decade, the food and service have always been great. We moved out of the area many years ago but still stop in for some take out. The soups are all delicious, but we prefer the red lentil. I get the chicken kabob dinner with extra mushrooms, my husband gets the doner kabob or beyti kabob sometimes even special beyti it is always very well made. They are well worth the trip.

Very disappointed here. Almost an hour before closing and they would not take my take out order…

Chicken kebab platter. Best anywhere. Chicken quality is unmatched. Best bulgur rice anywhere. High quality feta. Owners wife is an incredible baker. I’ve been treated to some treats and her chocolates are better then Godiva. Try the Lahmajun mini app. There like little lamb pizzas.

We come here periodically when we are in the mood for Mediterranean cuisine. My husband loves the combination platter of meats. All their soups are delcious! The bulgar rice is also very good. Tonight I tried the stuffed cabbage and it was not as good as I had hoped. Not sure if it was a heavy dill flavor but it wasn’t for my taste. I would recommend this place highly.

I haven’t eaten here since I was very young. Nothing worthy of mentioning because I don’t remember. My family has ordered from here a few times. Mostly large orders around the holidays. First time I ordered take out on my own I had a chicken gyro. It was very chunky pieces of chicken(I prefer slices), which totally turned me off. That was quite a few years ago, so it might have changed. One year my family ordered from here and it was amazing. I loved everything and that was the moment I decided that I truly loved Turkish food. Unfortunately, I came here recently and my experience wasn’t that great. The waitress wasn’t too friendly, almost like a snobbish type attitude, perhaps judge mental? I’m not exactly sure, all I know is that she didn’t make me feel comfortable. My food was alright I guess. Nothing to rave about. My girlfriend on the other hand found a hair in her food and it completely turned me off from my entire meal. Even the pita bread wasn’t that great. It didn’t taste like fresh, soft pita like it always should. I love pita bread more than anything and I wasn’t enjoying it. We ordered a take out meal to bring home to my mom. She said the same thing I did without me mentioning anything-tasted old and not fresh. I think I’ll be finding a new Turkish restaurant soon, I really wasn’t a fan. I will credit their spinach pie thought, that has been very good each time I’ve had it.

I have heard great things about Pita House for years and finally had dinner here tonight. The service has attentive but unobtrusive. Although the menu was simple to understand we had a few questions and our server answered them expertly. I had the stuffed cabbage, which was a special, and it was delicious. My server recommended that I try the bulgar pilaf and I am glad I did. It was the perfect compliment to the cabbage. I started with the lemon chicken soup. It was overflowing with large chunks of white meat chicken and veggies. To drink I had a sour cherry juice. Very refreshing. The owner even came over and asked how our meal was. I can’t wait to go back and try something else.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon about 2:00. Been here many times over the last 12 years or so and they never fail to disappoint. Dining room is spacious and cozy, quiet and relaxing. We were seated immediately and given fresh water and a basket of warm pita. Salads came quickly and everything was very fresh. Food came out just as we finished our salads and everything was great as usual. Staff was courteous and attentive. Will continue to dine here every chance I get. We ordered two platters with salads and drinks and an extra one to go for later. Bill was $ 42 without tip. The rest rooms could use some cleaning but otherwise evertything else was very clean, the food is great, and good service with great prices. Can’t ask for anything more!

I don’t normally review restaurants, but I figured if this review saves anyone from going, it’ll be worth it. I ordered the Greek Salad with gyro meat and my friend got a chicken kabab gyro. The salad was awful. The meat was dry, and didn’t taste good at all. The lettuce was wilted and soggy. The olives tasted weird, almost stale, and I spit out the olive leaf roll after biting into it. My friend also said her gyro lettuce was not fresh, the sauce was watery, and the meat was bland. This was by far the worst Greek food I’ve eaten at any restaurant. I don’t see myself returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Simply appointed restaurant with wonderful food and great service. With were fortunate enough to have someone in our party from that area of the world who request a sampler(pita, cucumbers, tomatoes) with a sampling of delicious dishes to dip them into. And some stuffed grape leaves. Excellent! I already have plans to get one to go during football season. My hose special dish was lamb cubes with tomato which were cooked in a wok. It was also served in the wok and was amazing. The owner came by the table, showed us some pictures from a recent event he catered and generally made us feel that we were guests in his home. Great place.

Very simple as far as décor goes, but the food is delightful! We always start with Turkish cigars — feta wrapped in phyllo and fried, so delicious. Skip the greek salad and opt for the Turkish — no lettuce, all flavor. The lentil soup is also quite tasty. All the kabobs are good and again, skip the white rice and opt for the bulgar. For dessert, if they have it on the board, the Knafeh is OUT of this world!

One of the best restaurants in the area. The hummus is amazing. When in doubt, always go for the Doner Kebab. If you are adventurous, try a Turkish coffee
