Honestly, expected a bit more charm or something when walking in, it’s basically the bottom level of someone’s very old very small house, filled with floor to ceiling book shelves– tons of sorta unorganized books, and a plethora of those cheesy lusty novella things. We didn’t find what we were looking for and I don’t buy books all that often, but I sorta thought it was all quite expensive. The books are all used and worn out but half off original cover price. Clearly been picked out of someone else’s unwanted collection… I mean, so many people give away books I’d find it hard to pay that much for something so demolished.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a used book store. Books stacked from the floor to the ceiling, the smell of old books, the old lady running the counter who can tell you about the books, and to top it off, they are all extremely well organized. I believe this is the only place of its kind on Long Island. I highly recommend anyone shop here. Older books are price as marked, newer books are half off cover price. If you want a book she doesn’t have, she will get it for you and give you a 20% discount. This is the best used book store!

Great place to get rid of your old books and search for one you’ve been meaning to read. Friendly little shop!

Side Street Books is an old bookshop next to Reece’s 1900( ). Strictly used paperbacks, stacked up and shelved by category. Pricing is calculated at ½ off cover price. If your a voracious fiction reader it may be worth a stop.
