I found a used vehicle I wanted to buy, near Patchogue, but I live 2 hours away & didn’t know who I could trust to check it out for me. I searched online for reputable mechanics in the area, and liked the reviews I read of Tomar– I can tell when reviews are «too good to be true» but I got the feeling this was very legit. I talked to Harvey, & he agreed to examine the vehicle. Harvey gave me a very thorough review, and really seemed to care that I knew the good the bad the ugly. He was very easy to talk to, polite, answered all my questions, and charged less than I expected. I now wish his shop was closer to me so he could be my regular mechanic.

Harvey and his employees have been working on my car for a couple of years now. Anytime I have needed something, they service was always fast, reasonably priced and done right the first time. When I needed to have my clutch replaced, he recommended a local transmission shop and worked directly with them while keeping me informed the whole way. It is a good feeling to walk into a mechanic and know that I’m not going to get ripped off as I’ve had happen at other places. Harvey is always looking out for my best interests. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat!

60 miles from home on a cold winter afternoon and my car starts to overheat.
No less stuck in traffic on a major highway. What would you do but worry.
Pulled off as soon as i could and called Harvey at Tomar… for the next 2 ½ hours Harvey was on the phone with me till I arrived
turned out to be the fan, which was replaced the next day! GREAT Service /​great prices/​honest people! That‘s what you get when you deal with Tomar!

Harvey at Tomar Auto is truly awesome! We just moved here from Chicago and don’t know anybody. I saw online that Tomar had good reviews so I went in (without my husband) with a flat tire and a front bumper falling off my Audi. Harvey immediately made me feel very at ease. He answered all of my questions and alleviated all of my concerns. My bumper looks like new again. He even called to check to make sure that everything was working well. Love him!!!

My Honda was in need of to two tires. I purchased them at
and got a good deal. They get shipped to a location near by for installation. (Abt. $ 20 ea. to install) I chose Tomar Automotive in Patchogue. Admittedly, the dude who answers the phone is gruff and all business… no light fluffy talk. (Hey, it is NY!) One woman hung up on him while I was there. LOL. Tom is the owner, thus the name, and he was on site. It is family owned and been in business for a long time. The workers seem relaxed but they work like a machine. I was in and out in no time. The waiting area is clean and had some mag. to read, but it was as cold as Sarah Palin’s porch. Wear your Uggs gals. They are a full service business. I would recommend them.
