I love the fact they accept walk-ins and they are willing to deduct whatever the insurance is paying and you pay the rest out of pocket for other type of glasses. The reason why they get 3 stars is only because they look miserable. I understand life gets to you BUT customer service is key! The optometrist was awesome! Truly a sweetheart and gave me my daughter’s eye prescription.

I called before going in to inquire about the price for an eye exam for contact lenses & I specified I just needed the prescription. After going in and finishing the exam I was told that by law I had purchase the contact lenses from them before they release to me my own prescription. It was the first time I had ever heard that, I’ve been wearing contact lenses for years. I explained to the girls I wasn’t informed of this and that I wasn’t prepared to make such a big purchase, especially since I would have to purchase 2 boxes being that my eyes both didnt have the same prescription. I told them someone should have mentioned this before I proceeded with the exam. After it all she had no concern for the situation, rolled her eyes as i talked to her. When I got home and did some research I found out it was illegal for any doctor to hold your prescription if you don’t purchase from them, I even had to call my credit card company and request a refund from them because when I called gold optical to tell them what they told me was illegal they said there were no refunds, which is not on the receipt either. My credit card company ended up refunding me & not paying gold optical. This is just a big scam to make u buy extremely over priced lens, but at least I got my contacts for free instead!

This place gets absolutely no stars. The only reason there is one there is because you cant post a review without stars. Please do not go to this eye doctor. The actual doctor was male working past retirement and accent was so heavy it made it difficult to get through the exam. The reason I urge you to please stay away is the office staff. These young ladies have no regard for the client. Apart from me re-ordering frames in July of 2014(First pair damaged at the lab) and not getting any response until I called in September they are never available in person or via phone. Seems every time I call I was promised a call back from the manager who does not work on any weekday I actually call. When I did go for a visit in August to follow up the ladies could not focus on my case because they were too busy letting their children run around the office in and out of doors and playing around. At this point I will resolve the matter via my insurance company by cancelling everything and going elsewhere. This was by far one of the worst customer services experiences I have ever had. Especially considering the nature of the business… my vision.
