I finally stopped in and gave this place a try and it was literally the worst food I have ever had in my entire life. The chef must hate his job and/or is trying to sabotage this place with his awful cooking. If you enjoy really high priced, crappy food in an atmosphere that resembles a crappy restaurant stuck in the 90’s? This is your place.

I finally stopped in to give this place a try and was welcomed by a friendly waitress and was given a menu and seated. I decided to get the braciole one of the special plates on the menu. While waiting for my entrée I ordered a bowl of Italian wedding soup and bread with house peppers and oil for my bread which was delicious. When my entrée arrived it was delicious and the linguine was cooked perfect. Nino even stopped by to see how I liked the food. Nice touch I thought. I will go here again.

Nice restaurant. Slightly pricey for lunch sometimes always worth it. Never met Nino but the staff is nice, food is good, and service is quick. Too bad it’s in a bombed out, dead strip mall… but that lets me add«Ample Parking» to my list of compliments.

The food is good but every time I go there I have to go an hour later. I had the filet tips with risotto Not sure what filet tips are bit they were hard and grizzly. The risotto was good though. The service is good and the atmosphere is nice.

I was skeptical of this establishment at first, located in a shopping center with only 2 shops still open. I have heard my cousins rave about Nino’s food. «Cuz you gotta go!», or «Dude what are you waiting for?». I will be honest there are a few Italian restaurants that I will go to, being its the closest thing to a true authentic meal. Well that and my mother being tops over all, basically mom trumps everyone else in this realm. I can now say Nino Gervasi will be added to the list of true authentic Italian cuisine that is nothing short of fantastic. Literally a «Gem» tucked away in a shopping center that lost its luster. If Nino were to relocate his business to an area where there is more walking traffic, he would definitely dominate. His restaurant does great, always a good stream of patrons that filter in. The best thing about it is, all of these patrons who frequent Nino come back with more to their party. Word of mouth and the product he puts out go a long way. A true authentic rustic style of Italia being served to you as you begin your dinning experience. Nino’s style has been taught to him by his way of life back in Italy. The way he prepares the food from early morning. While everyone else is still sleeping Nino is preparing dishes for that evening. Everything is fresh from the farms with the tomato’s, and vegetables he selects for that day. Fresh herbs, and spices, that will make you do the chicken dance, that’s how good it is. When ordering make sure you order on an empty stomach, scratch that it is always a plus to bring home leftovers. I guarantee you will be bringing home leftovers. Each plate from appetizer to entrée to dessert is fully covered. The presentation alone is nothing but beautiful with that aroma dancing around. Anticipation of experiencing a work of art ready to be devoured alone is worth the trip. Nino also caters and does parties at his location with 3 rooms ready to be put in use. I have seen these rooms filled with parties, I almost feel like crashing it to get a taste of his cooking. Beautiful bar with ample seats along with a good selection of liquors can be enjoyed with your meal. The menu offers a lot of options, along with a the specials of the day they slide inside. What do I recommend? I will have to say you can not go wrong with anything, the specials you want to take a look at. I have had his lamb chops ala primavera with a side of fresh vegetables and pasta aglio olio. Amazing, tender meat falling of the bone that just melted in your mouth. The Frank Sinatra fillet mignon with crab with the sides another great dish. I can go on and on, the Scallops and Risotto, ok I need to stop, I am salivating here. Friendly staff, and another plus is Nino from being there all day will actually come and talk to you as you’re enjoying his creation. Nino will give you a little story behind his methods, how he preps it, but not fully. He is not going to let you know all his secrets, but what he will do is make sure you are fully accommodated. I am lucky to have him about a mile from my house, so I could go in and enjoy a fantastic meal, and some good stories.

This WAS one of our favorite places to eat since restaurants are few and far between in South Jersey. Authentic, satisfying, Italian food. Took a girlfriend and my daughter last weekend… HORRIBLE. Menu has changed… they must have hired a new cook. I ordered the Tilapia… dry, dry, dry. We’ve eaten there more then a dozen times before. Will not be going back. How disappointing.

Just moved into New Jersey and have been looking around for good restaurants. Tried an Italian restaurant in Swedesboro. One word to describe that restaurant… TERRIBLE!!! Found Nino Gervasi’s here on Unilocal and what a pleasant surprise. A little hidden gem! Great food plus great service equal a winner in my book. A must try. Will be returning regularly to this wonderful Italian Restaurant. Oh, and much less expensive then the horrible, tasteless restaurant in Swedesboro.

We really enjoyed our meals. The vodka sauce was thick, tasty and just the right amount. Soup or salad with the entrée, which is nice, so you don’t end up being locked into an item you don’t want. Botto’s, are your ears ringing?. I chose the soup, which was a butternut squash crab bisque. I never heard of anyone combining these together, but it worked! Tasted great as a dipper too with the nice soft bread that came the meal, which also included a tasty roasted peppers and eggplant mix. The nicely sized mussels in red sauce was also good. We’d prefer a thicker sauce, but can’t complain. Overall, a tasty meal that is nicely portioned at a fair price, which seems to be a tough combo that most restaurants have a problem in doing. The décor is not fancy, but it’s clean and the food is good. Service was fantastic! I know they also do private parties, as we had one here for my grandfather’s wake. We’ll be coming back.

Fresh made south philly style italian food. Excellent and friendly service. A very delicious meal and nice ambience. In a little old shopping center, but actually worth a bit of travel.
