Comfort Inn Pawtucket – Providence

This Comfort Inn is pretty much a dump. It started off with this conversation:
Desk guy: Are you okay with the ground floor?
Me: I guess. What’s wrong with the ground floor?
Desk guy: Uh, nuthin.
So we go check it out. The ground floor is really more like a basement. It’s dark, the ceiiings are low, the fluorescent lights flicker. It’s creepy. And we really would have been happier with a king bed so we went back to the desk.
Me: We were hoping for a king bed.
Desk guy: There are no kings here at all
Me: Okay, can we have something on the top floor?
Desk guy: The top floor is smoking, is that okay?
Me: What else have you got?
Desk guy: There’s a room on the fourth floor.
We take it. The ceilings are a little higher. There’s a balcony and the slider is unlocked. Everything is shabby. The carpets throughout the hotel are filthy. The wallpaper is falling off the wall. The towels have somebody else’s hair on them. There’s a piece of conduit and another pipe running through a wall. The A/​C is miserable. Even the inspection certificate in the elevator expired months ago. We’ve already had the «this is the way it is here» discussion so we don’t bother saying anything. It’s a business trip, the bed seems clean, and Comic Con is in Providence so hotel rooms are scarce.
The bright spot is the breakfast room. The women we saw there do a great job, they’re friendly, and they really care about what they do. The second star is due entirely to these women.
This Comfort Inn is the only hotel in Pawtucket and the closest to where we were working, but I really don’t plan on coming back.

We recently stayed here for one night while visiting RI. We were very pleased with our experience. Is this a 5 star hotel? Obviously not! But the staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was clean, and there was a free hot breakfast that was actually pretty good! Waffle maker? Heck yes! It’s right off the interstate, so easy to find and very convenient. Take off one star b/​c we could’ve used more towels in the room, and the hotel could use some updates (tube TVs, outdated carpets, etc.) but overall we were very pleased and would stay here again.

Walked in the back door and were immediately greeted by rumpled carpeting, needs to be restretched. We must have been in the older part of the hotel. Checked the beds, found blood and what looked like a dead bed bug and black long hair. Packed up and left. To their benefit, the lady at the desk was very friendly and didn’t question us or charge us when we left.

Was put up here by my company and they always get me a good hotel. This is the worse I have stayed in by far. Broken lamps, dirty bathroom, old television with remote that dose not work! I would rather get shot in the knee than stay here another night. All I smell is weed in the hall ways. If I didn’t drink a few beers at the restaurant down stairs I would be headed home already

Argh. Besides the depressing décor, attempted mood ambiance and the lack of outlets, I’d have to say avoid this place.
Its utilitarian and relatively clean. It will serve your needs if all you need is a place to sleep.
If you are on business, you will be annoyed at lack of outlets that are available (I’m counting 2 in my room, and fully plugged). One was for coffeemaker so I removed it and charged my phone. How am I supposed to do work on the desk provided?
And its the little things. They give you shampoo and lotion. But no conditioner. They give you coffee and tea, but no water. And if you want water, you have to have cash for vending machine. This place wouldn’t even sell it to me at front desk and charge it to the room (I didn’t have singles with me). Not to mention that the TV is the old CRT. Asking for an alarm clock with aux in, like what’s available at most national chains, is asking for too much.
I know I’m being picky, but if you are going to advertise lodging for business, you have to have these amenities. Otherwise, the only productive thing that will happen is sleeping.

Front desk staff very nice! That being said, This is a very basic, old hotel in need of serious upgrading. Elevators cramped and kept closing before we could get in. A/​c not really powerful. There are no mini refrigerators or microwaves in room. Bathroom tiles and grout nasty. Showers do not have any safety handrails for older people. Small TV, some stations didn’t have sound. There were never any parking spots near the entrance. Wifi is horrible. We have a balcony that faces the back of another building and the roof. Why bother to have one?! Canceled a future booking. Would not recommend to anyone.

Stayed there this past weekend… my daughters were playing in a tournament down there and the organizing committee had rooms blocked off at various hotels. I’m confused as to why, as the tournament fields were at least an hour away. Myself and the rest of the team, along with another team from our city booked rooms through the tournament and got this hotel… I’m guessing by pure luck? I’m not sure why this hotel is even a choice as there were many others closer to the field locations that would have been better, cleaner and much nicer but that’s something to discuss with the tournament organizers.
As soon as we arrived we knew this may have been a mistake… building adjacent to the hotel had crime scene tape around it and some of the parents actually witnessed a body being removed and CSI vans parked outside. Great area to put visiting teams to your tournament up in! But back to the real problem of this hotel.
Everything is filthy… check out all my photos… from the couches and chairs in the lobby to the room furnishings… if your looking for a clean, cheap hotel… we’ll you certainly found inexpensive but forget about clean. Even the sheets and comforters were filthy (check out the photos)…we had a double queen room… and both me and my daughter refused to sleep under the covers… we slept on top of the comforter with sweatshirts on because we couldn’t control the A/​C. I don’t think the little knob on the wall unit worked.
The only positive seemed to be the employees… they were very cheery and happy.
This hotel needs a complete overhaul… burn all the furniture, rip up all the green carpet, paint, new sheets and curtains. And maybe it would be worth staying at. Location is right off the highway… so if your really desperate then pull over and stay… but if your going down for any kind of event… do your research and there are better places than this… don’t waste your money. One team got booked in a hotel in Seekonk, MA and everyone loved it… the amenities were great.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We checked into the hotel and immediately noticed a horrible smell in the elevator. There are flies in our room. We are in a non-​smoking room, but there are cigarette burns everywhere. There are also cigarette buds discarded all outside the room. The room smells like an ash tray. There are stains all over the sheets. There are ashes all over the floor. It’s a disgusting hotel. Don’t stay here. Find a nicer and a cleaner place.

What an awful experience! I booked a hotel for a client coming into town and put my credit card number for the booking because I wanted to pay for the stay, not my client. Today I received an email that said there was a balance due. I called to ask if they could just charge the credit card that I booked it with and they said I would have to fill out a form, make a copy of the front and back of the credit card, make a copy of my license and then fax it to them. WHAT? I said just bill the credit card I booked it with. They wouldn’t budge. This is insane I have stayed soooo many hotels and have never heard of this. Awful experience, will never recommend this to any clients. I rebooked the another room at another hotel and cancelled this one. What an awful run hotel. Get with it.

We checked in and found the front desk to be fine. However, when we got to our room we found used paper towels in the corner, dirty, used coffee maker, a dirty carpet in the room… it just wasn’t up to the level other Comfort Inns have been. The elevator smelled like sweat and cigarettes. All night long some people were being loud and noisy and some kids were running up and down the halls.
The value simply wasn’t there. We won’t be back.

We checked into our room and pain entering our room we were greeted by the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Our room was incredibly dirty and run down. The bathroom was gross and there was a long hair on our clean towels. One of the lamps had a burn mark on it and another was visibly broken. One of the blue comforters was covered in questionable white mystery stains.

Well I’ve stayed in 6 hotels this week just road tripping and this one was by far the worst!
Price was ok before we went to the room.
Once we got to the room it was horrible!
The mattress was old with springs almost poking through, the sheets were stained and smelled horrible. The top of the toilet was missing and the bathtub was stained and oddly painted.
Paint was missing off the walls and the small chair in the corner looks like somebody picked it up off the side of the road for free.
The sliding glass door had issues opening and closing and the air conditioning unit was loosely framed in the side of the wall on the patio and was never completed.
The entire time I was afraid of bed bugs and other issues. However that didn’t happen.
I would suggest to choose a different place.
Room 512

A decent pet friendly hotel. (small dogs allowed @$ 15/​pet/​night). Check in was painless. Room was adequate but not huge or fancy. Location is a bit sketchy. Free WiFi worked well.
Ben and Jerry’s ice cream vending machines are a nice option.

As Comfort Inns go, this one is OK. The common areas have a funky odor but our room smelled fine. The TVs are old, tube-​style hogs. The wireless worked well. The free breakfast was OK, nothing great. Sugary yogurt cups, three kinds of cold cereal, 2% milk, English muffins, bagels, bread, Danish, hard boiled eggs, «scrambled eggs», sausage links, and a waffle maker. Juice machine and coffee with creamers. The breakfast lady was early with the take-​down, though, so get there by 945 if you want to make sure you get total access.

This hotel is right off the 95.
It’s a clean, quiet place to sleep for the night. Not fancy, but it gets the job done.

Comfort Inn is conveniently locaed right off of Rte 95. Service was friendly and quick… room was of decent size with the usual amenities.
I got up too late to avail myself of the breakfast… It has an attached restaurant (the Ground Round)…go a few blocks down the street for much better restaurants. The only challenges I encountered was their room keys decoded twice in 24 hours and they do not have a shuttle van for those who do not have a car… the local neighborhood isn’t pedestrian friendly if you get my drift…

I arrived here in the dead of night with my drunk-​ass friend immobile in the passenger seat. The poor guy at the desk was so polite and professional and offered to have security help me get my pal into our room.
Four stars for that alone.
Otherwise, it’s a Comfort Inn.

This is the only hotel in Pawtucket, from what I can tell. It’s not too bad for a Comfort Inn. The room was relatively large. It was clean. Unfortunately, though, our first room reeked of urine. We asked to be switched to a new room and the staff complied without giving us a problem. The new room didn’t smell like roses, but it wasn’t unpleasant.
My other complaint is that the ironing boards have these iron holders attached to the flat end (as opposed to the pointy end) of the board. This means that I could only use the pointy end. It was sort of annoying.
The breakfast was tolerable. They have a waffle maker, which is cool. The restaurant (Ground Round) isn’t great, though. If you go, don’t get an entrée. Stick to the salads and sandwiches.
For the price, this is a decent value.
