Ferdie’s Key Shop

Just used Ferdie’s although I think they’ve changed their name to Affordable Locksmith. They were able to come out quickly and showed up on time. The guy that came, I think Eric, was polite and fixed the lock quickly. Price was decent too. No complaints.

I called there and the voice message said hours are 9AM-4pm…I arrived at 9:30 AM and the store was closed… however there was a truck leaving the lot with Ferdies key logo… I stopped the truck and the driver informed me that he was on his way to an appt and since he was the only person working at that time he had to close the shop… I told him this was not a good way to run a business if the hours posted are not honored… I went to Bennys to get my keys made

Saved my butt last minute when I had a little locker incident. And they were happy to do it! Friendly, professional and competitive pricing. They arrived about 30 minutes after I called them asking for help. As far as the other post about them not being open… it’s probably because they were out on a job. That’s what locksmiths do! Like what they did for me when I had an emergency. I am appreciative and they even helped me out with something else while they were there. I would definitely do business with this company again.

I’ve had at least 3 occasions when Ferdie’s did not obey their posted business hours; the most recently I had called ahead at 3:30pm to find out if they could make some key copies, asked how late they were open (they said 5), and when I arrived at 4:30 found that no one was in the shop.
I left phone messages asking what happened and when they would be open again, and no one ever called me back.
They may have been around for some time, but after several experiences of not respecting their own posted business hours, not respecting my time, and not caring enough to return my calls, I’m done with Ferdie’s — never, ever again. I recommend you find a locksmith that doesn’t have so many customers they don’t care about treating newer customers poorly.
(And this isn’t a one person operation, I had been in the shop several times previously and they definitely have more than one person working, so there is no good excuse not to obey posted business hours, or certainly not to disappear after promising a customer you would be open, or to not call a customer back after he calls to ask when they will [allegedly] be open again.)

love this place. been around forever and they can make/​find the right key for everything. i brought in the serial number from an old file cabinet that had no key, and he made one that worked!
