You must check out the Community Players! We went to see their production of Sweeney Todd, and we are hooked. As a small, Community Theater, we expected a so-so production. However, the actors were fabulous, the orchestra was fantastic(yes real music… a small ensemble… not a tape), and you can’t beat the price; $ 20 for musicals, $ 15 for plays. We’re considering signing up for a season membership($ 50 for four plays). Bring cash with you as they sell raffle tickets and snacks during intermission(they ask for a donation to partake in the intermission snacks). The cash goes towards a scholarship they give to high school seniors who plan to major in performing arts. They perform out of a junior high auditorium, so it is nothing glamorous, but as the performance begins, you will soon forget your surroundings and have a fun, enjoyable theater experience that also makes for a great date.
