Pawtucket Red Sox

I truly enjoy coming to the Pawsox at McCoy Stadium. The game is much faster than a Redsox game, the stadium is more intimate, and there’s a great family vibe.
You will often experience a Redsox player sitting in with the Pawsox.

I recently attended the Celebrity Softball Charity Event hosted by Jeffrey Osborne. I went with my Father and Boyfriend. We had a blast. Each ticket purchased went towards local charities. The game was the East vs. The West. Some of the celebrities were former Patriots alumni, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abduhl Jamer, Chris Tucker, Sinbad just to name a few. I highly recommend anyone to attend this game in the future. Meet and greets were also available for a $ 50 donation. I just cannot say enough about this event. Great fireworks too.

Great place to bring a family and not go broke. Don’t recommend the Jeffery Osborne fundraiser though — buy the regular tickets for 12 bucks and avoid disappointment at 50 bucks with no celebrities and awful food

Fabulous especially with young kids, go early and meet the players, etc.
Excellent venue, reasonable parking, food and drinks are also reasonable and an entire family can enjoy the game without taking out a second mortgage. View is excellent (vs. Fenway where you need a telescope to see the field from many of the seats that are not outrageous) and the entire venue is inviting.

If you’re brining kids, get there a little early and you can get plenty of autographs and maybe even a ball. To get a bunch of autographs bring an empty 2 liter bottle and string. Cut out a section from the 2 liter bottle so a baseball and pen/​marker can easily fit and then Tie the string to the bottle. Use this contraption to lower your ball down to the players who will happily sign and pass the ball around. You need this because there is a drop off from the seats down to the bench and this solves the problem. Don’t worry you won’t be the only one, many people will have this and where i got the idea.

I love the Paw Sox! Growing up in RI means you ALWAYS see at least one game every season and you mKe sure to go or at lease hanv out outside around the.4^th of july. awesome memories and I need to go back asap!

Still a great way to catch a semi-​pro ballgame and spend a nice summer night with the family, w/​o breaking the bank.

The PawSox are a great, fun, cheap thing to do in the summer. You can get good general admission for fairly cheap. If you get there early enough you can park right next to the stadium for free. If not, you walk a bit and pay 2 bucks.
They are a fun team to watch. Consistently through the season we get to see major leaguers who are healing in Pawtucket which is cool for those fans who can not afford going to a Red Sox game. It is a very family friend night.

Awesome game tonight against Scranton. All the ladies/​girls got pink Pawsox t-​shirts sponsored by CVS and Coast 93.3. The nights temp is perfect, and the Hershey’s ice cream is yummy. The Pawsox are down by two right now in the top of the 5^th inning. I’m hoping they can pull off a win. Go Pawsox!!!

Ah, the Paw Sox. What a fun, endearing and truly wonderful Providence tradition. The games are inexpensive, entertaining and such a trill! I especially love bringing a blanket, a bag of snacks and plopping down on the grass to watch the Red Sox up-​and-​comers play their hearts out. It’s much less crowded, expensive and crazy than Fenway, plus it’s on 10 minutes from downtown PVD. What more could you ask for?
Parking is wicked cheap, too — but if you’re okay with walking a couple of blocks, I highly recommend it. Not only will you save money for more beers, but you won’t have to deal with everyone trying to leave at once when the game lets out. It’s worth it, I swear.
Seriously, this is one of the most fun things to do during the late spring and all summer long. The field is beautiful, the facilities are decent and you can go as a big group, bring the kids or just by yourself. You’ll have a great time, I promise!

PawSox hosted the Rotary Clubs of RI and MA and I attended with the Rotary Club of Smithfield. McCoy Stadium was very clean and well manicured. The staff was so professional and curteous. Food prices were reasonable for a sports venue.
What a great experience here in Little Rhody

Went to the PawSox and had a terrible experience. Great baseball but they run the place like a prison. We bought the expensive tickets and sat down near the field. Half the seats were empty. Usher came over and asked us to move. I asked to speak to a manager. They sent this thug over who acted like he just came from extorting money from the strip clubs in Providence. We moved to left field seats way back and chilled. At the bottom of the ninth another usher came over and told our section we were cheering too loudly. Really? We have been to lots of Fischer Cats games, Spinners, and Red Sox. PawSox staffs are really rude. Why put up with it when you can get the Real Red Sox for $ 10 on StubHub? And the Red Sox ushers will let you move down if the seats are empty.

PawSox Stadium is a Rhode Island icon! The stadium is awesome for a AAA team. It’s a great place to take the family on a summer day, it’s much cheaper than Fenway! Highly Recommend!

Very nice way to spend a New England late spring/​summer night. Best way to watch upcoming all-​star players before they make the Major League. We went last week for a firefighter/​police appreciation night. My boyfriend’s a firefighter in MA so we got 3 free tickets and used them for him, his son, and myself. They did a big opening day ceremony + firefighter/​police appreciation ceremony with bagpipes, gun salutes, etc. We heard it as we were walking there but unfortunately didn’t get to see it because we were late. The parking lot at the stadium is free but it fills up fast. We parked a few blocks away for only $ 5.
I imagine we could come back sometime this summer even if we have to pay for the game tickets — they are really cheap, something like $ 11 an adult and $ 7 a child.
We left in the 7^th inning because we were getting cold and his son was getting bored. It was a nice time though. The alcohol and food prices are certainly cheaper than at Fenway for a Red Sox game. Plus it’s more vegetarian and vegan friendly at this stadium which I need since I’m a vegan. They had veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, hummus and pretzels, and a a veggie platter (carrots, celery, etc.), pretzels, french fries, Cracker Jacks, etc. Not sure if the veggie burger is vegan though — looks like they may put butter on it so I’d stick with the veggie hot dog. I only got it because it was faster to heat up they said.
And they had Wachusett’s beer!
Veggie burger + Wachusetts beer + spring night with the family at a Paw Sox game = perfect New England night.
Don’t try to bring any food or drinks into the stadium they will confiscate all of it. We saw lots of unopened sodas, candy bars, and bags of chips going right in the trash when you walk in.
They have other fun family friendly programs going on this month — first 3,000 people get a poster on some nights plus the Bark in the Park where you can bring your dog to the game! That’s so awesome!
On cold spring nights bring a blanket!

A hell of a lot cheaper than the Red Sox game, but then again. you get what you pay for!
Its such a cute field and tickets are like 7 dollars. 11 for box seats! Can’t go wrong if your bored!

A awesome minor league team that really cares about it’s fans and the community. They do a lot to involve everyone in the game and make orca wonderful experience for all ages.
The club keeps the thoughts of baseball alive by letting kids see that it’s truly a sport that can be played for fun and is not always about who makes the most cash.
Bravo to the sox organization for keeping the cost down and entertainment value high.

(Major) minor league baseball at its slickest. You won’t find lobster tosses, local miss agrarian debutantes or tractor pulls here but what it lacks in local flavor it makes up for in prospects and rehabbing major leaguers.
McCoy stadium is a sight to behold — impressive infrastructure plopped down in the middle of a Pawtucket neighborhood.
Beer isn’t too ridiculously expensive, they have a lot of giveaway nights, french fry portions are plentiful and parking is free.
A great place to take in a baseball game for 7 dollars.

Went back again, and the Paw Sox did lose to the Durham Bulls. Lousy pitching from the Sox. Pretty bad batting as well; except from Gonsalves. He’s gonna show up in Boston soon, I’d bet.
Terrific Park. Man, this is a sweet spot to watch some baseball. It’s cheap, clean, and really friendly.
Plus, there’s better concessions. Hell, you can get a Portobello mushroom burger. Man! Go way to the end from the entrance, and there’s a natural food concession stand. No Kidding.
