PE Fitness Studio

Excellent gym in a beautiful space. I trained one on one with Laurel for a year and only stopped because I moved away. Lisa and Laurel were both friendly and welcoming from day one. I’m not a super athletic person, but training made me stronger and more fit than I had ever been. These ladies are experienced, well-​rounded trainers but above all great people. I truly miss going to this wonderful establishment! Highly recommend!

You get results! You get them in a no pressure, supportive and welcoming environment. I have been a gym rat for years and PE has been the most pleasant (and effective) place I have found.

I want to start this review by saying that before going to PE Fitness I had not exercised in over 10 years. I always hated exercise and had zero motivation to do anything healthy. I have been taking classes for about a month and have come to love going to PE Fitness. The fact that I want to go and enjoy exercising is a feat in and of itself. In every class I feel that I am being pushed to do my best while also being supported. Lisa and Laurel are amazing people and have made me feel comfortable in an atmosphere that is out of my comfort zone. I also take classes with Nina who is just as supportive yet demanding. PE Fitness is a place for everyone including those new to fitness. I feel lucky to have found such an amazing group of people who want to see me succeed in my fitness goals!

Challenging and fun all rolled into an awesome workout! This place is no nonsense! Lisa and Laurel are great instructors. They’ll push you to your limits and right out of your comfort zone, without the drill sergeant attitude. They’re super motivating and encouraging. Every workout is unique and creative. I started coming here after I bought a groupon, but I will definitely continue after it expires. It’s just the push I needed to get back to my fitness goals.

PE Fitness is my home away from home. I moved to Rhode Island from New Jersey in July and I was on the hunt for a great gym. I purchased the groupon for PE Fitness and I have been hooked ever since. Lisa and Laurel are kind, knowledgeable, and TOUGH! They push you to limits you didn’t know you could reach. They have created a collaborative environment at PE where all members support and help each other reach goals. The community at PE Fitness is unlike any other gym. If you are looking to get results, have fun doing it, and make some great friends in the process, then PE is the place for you.

You are probably asking why some joker from AZ is writing a review on this place. Well, I use to live here and Lisa was my trainer. I am a distance runner training for the O Trials in the marathon and she took me on when I was injured and built me back up to compete again. So here’s what I have to tell you.
1) This place is the absolute best for what YOU need, and I emphasize the YOU, if you are an elite athlete — no fear, this is not a feel good puffy place for you, you will work HARD and sweat like hell. BUT if you need community and just a healthy dose of functional fitness, they will give you that, or if you need the social aspect — there is an awesome community, you just cannot go wrong.
2) Both Laurel and Lisa are top notch, I worked primarily with Lisa but one time I took Laurel’s class and it was no joke, I would have no problem working with her, they both are very good. I think what is unique about them is they can read what you need that too, I am pretty intense :) And hate to chit chat, I want to work, I am there to get better, but there are those occasional days when you are beat up — and they knew that and gave me what I needed.
3) Providence has a gem on it’s hand here, if you live here take advantage of it. The world needs more gems like this place.

PE Fitness is truly a special place. Lisa and Laurel are wonderful trainers, so motivating, instructive and fun! After being stuck in a boring (and unsuccessful) gym routine, I tried a bootcamp class and have been hooked ever since. The creative workouts and catchy playlists make classes fly by, and I always leave exhausted, yet feeling strong and powerful. This gym is wonderful!!!

I started an year ago after purchasing their groupon. I am happy that, I chose PE fitness. Laurel and Lisa are very professional, friendly and caring. They always try to push our limits. They really mean business. I usually lazy to do workouts and go to gym. But they have created good friendly atmosphere, It makes me to go there and push myself harder (not all the times though, when I have bad days in office :(). Overall I am happy to highly recommend to anyone who wants to achieve their fitness goals and needs some help…

Laurel and Lisa run the best gym I’ve ever been to. PE Fitness got me in the best shape of my life and helped me see myself as an athlete. The outdoor bootcamp classes had such a fun, friendly vibe and that good energy led to more hill runs and tire flips! Laurel’s barre classes are perfect for runners (or anybody with abs) and make you feel kind of lengthened and glamorous (and sore the next day!) Lisa helped me recover from a running injury in time for a big race. Do your self a favor and become part of this amazing fitness community!!!

I’ve been looking to change up my fitness routine and take some classes, but i could never find any classes that were different and piqued my interest. I found PE fitness online and liked their website and space. I got busy with a new baby and forgot all about them till I saw they had a groupon! Well bingo there was the push I needed! The special was 39 $ for unlimited classes and I took advantage. I’ve taken 3 classes so far and loved them! The classes are small which I love and Lisa And Laurel are excellent instructors. They motivate, watch your form, and mean business. tabata trx and bootcamp are my favorites so far. I highly recommend them and I’ll be back after my groupon expires for sure!

Not all gyms are created equal! Love this place! Top notch trainers Laurel, Lisa and Nina offer creative and challenging workouts that will never get boring or stale. They offer modifications and cater to all different levels so you don’t need to feel intimidated. If your like me and need that extra push in a group class setting to take your boring gym routine to the next level then def try them out. It’s a great community of people in a neat location. Can not recommend this place enough!

Great gym, with friendly people. I really really recommend it. I am fitter and leaner since starting here but above all I have had fun and made new friends. I love the TRX classes and the zumba and the hot yoga. Its a really clean gym and has great equipment. I get so much encouragement and a lot of good feelings every time I go.

I have been doing personal training with Lisa for the past two years now, as well as doing some Zumba and TRX at the studio, and it has been awesome. Like other commenters have said, she is a great combination of being tough and giving positive reinforcement. She loves what she does and it shows. Also, she brings a lot of variation to the workouts; she had me rolling a big tire up the hill and flipping it today, because it was nice outside. Laurel’s Zumba classes are fun and easygoing, and both Lisa and Laurel’s TRX classes are good too – nice people, at different levels, but it doesn’t matter b/​c TRX can kick your butt at any level!

My fiancé and I love coming to classes here … it’s a great combo of a really intense workout and a really relaxed atmosphere, with a wide range of abilities so everybody gets challenged but everybody also feels comfortable. Really reasonable prices for classes and personal training as well!

Lisa and Laurel are both great! My husband and I have worked mostly with Lisa (who is great at motivating and challenging you without frustrating you — a valuable skill). Also, we are sometimes in slightly different places regarding our fitness level, and she is great at helping us with workouts that play to both of our strengths (and weaknesses!). I have only taken one class from Laurel, but she is also great at meeting people where they’re at and challenging them to improve.
Another plus — class sizes tend to be relatively small, it seems, classes are a GREAT deal… Most classes seem to be TRX-​based (basically, this means using your own body weight to create a workout). Sounds easy right? It’s not, but both my husband and I leave exhausted EVERY time. In a good way.
Results-​wise, I have been working with this studio for the last 3 months, and have noticed a significant change in my body composition (more muscle and more endurance), and I have also lost some weight (~10 lbs… and I NEVER lose weight)… and that’s been great too! In my opinion, this has been money well spent. I highly recommend PE Fitness.
Edit: Cost wise — this facility seems in line with prices for similar services in this area. I believe this has been a great investment for my family, and I am relatively frugal most of the time. As I mentioned earlier, classes are a great deal (I think if you purchase 20 classes at a time, it works out to 8 – 9 dollars a class. Great!).

This gym is great! The dedication and talent of Lisa St. Denis really shines through, I really recommend this place.

PE Fitness is a beautiful studio, run by an amazing woman!
A year ago I was a couch potato, and now I’m running in 5Ks and playing ultimate frisbee. I was a bit intimidated about starting a work-​out régime, I remember before our first session telling Lisa on the phone to be prepared for how out of shape I am. :)
I started personal training with Lisa some time ago, but have recently been doing joint training sessions with my husband and attending her boot camp class. Work outs with Lisa are creative and challenging. Every time we finish, I always feel proud about the hard work I’ve done.
I highly recommend checking PE Fitness. No matter what your fitness level or goals are, Lisa will help you get there. :)

This gem of a fitness studio was opened recently by Lisa St Denis, trainer extraordinaire. Lisa offers great drop-​in classes such as TRX suspension training, Zumba, ballet toning and bootcamp — as well as private and semi-​private training sessions. You can buy a class or session at a time or a series. Lisa is an inspirational trainer who makes you realize that at any age or fitness level you can achieve so much more than you think. Her background in TRX, Crossfit and endurance coaching makes her a very versatile trainer who can work with clients with no fitness background all the way to athletes wanting to improve their records. The studio is beautiful, her pricing is very reasonable and the community she’s building is supportive, healthy and fun! I highly recommend this fitness studio and Lisa as a trainer.
